Absolutely fantastic eatery if your a lover of artisan snack meals, we had the Fish tacos and they were amazing. Highly recommended.

The food selection is good & the service really good. Is such a nice open space and a great place for a chilled lunch.

This place was extremely busy when we went, but we were able to find seating. You basically order on the app or QR code and they bring the food to your table. There are many options and you can mix and match. Overall, the food was amazing and came out quickly. I can see why it is so busy as the architecture, atmosphere, and quality were amazing and you should definitely stop here during your visit to Manchester.

What a gem. Good selection of diverse foods. Amazing ambience in a historical building. Plenty to choose from and plenty seating. Be sure to find a table before ordering as they need the number to deliver to you.

My burger from Tender Cow was juicy and delicious. The parmesan truffle fries were a bot of a let down though - not worth the £2 upgrade. We ordered on the app because we were sat upstairs and the service was very quick

Food court set up where you can order to your table from your phone by scanning the qr code on the maps on the tables. Food I had at the time was top notch from the fried chicken American and Japanese styles to the pork tacos and moorish frozen margaritas. 10/10 will go again

I loved my Thai food and then a cinnamon doughnut with tea, cuisine options from around the world! Husband didn’t like the Mexican too much though, no spice/flavour kick apparently…

Disappointed with choice, especially with dietary needs

Unfortunately not very good our food was cold and took ages to arrive 😕 we went with friends and their meal arrived before ours and they finished eating before ours arrived 😐

Came here while visiting Manchester for work. Plenty of options and the vibes were great.

I had a margarita pizza. It was bland dough with a touch of tomatoe sauce and cheese. Mainly dough. Very dry. I'd rather have gone to the dodgy take away across the street in all honesty. £14 plus an admin fee for the privilege of not speaking to anyone when you order?

I got food from the Thai restaurant “Chilli’s” which was delicious and you get a good portion for your money. I do wish there were more food resturant options though

A great space with a big variety of food ‘stalls’. The frozen margaritas and tacos were really good.

I’m sorry abou the one star review, but if you got an allergy or a food intollerance there is no way you can eat here. My wifw cannot eat onion nor garlic and every food sta d refused to serve food to me. It’s a shame because the place ot’s actually nice.

definitely a must visit when you’re in manchester and you have no idea where to eat! so many options! got the steak sandwich from tender cow which was so juicy and flavourful and the chicken sando from taiko which was also delicious!

coffee served cold and in a dirty glass, and the food wasn't much better. new rave ramen is usually delicious, but it was so disappointing in MM. avoid at all cost

Mackie mayor offers a variety of food and drinks. There’s a variety of beers on offer at a bar, an array of wine at the wine bar and loads of types of food from ramen, pizza , burgers to doughnuts. Unfortunately, the 💺 seating situation isn’t great you get people taking up four-five seats stating they’re sitting with someone and an hour passes and there’s just two of them. I think to improve this there should be more seating or less tables. The atmosphere is great although it is loud.

The jacket potatos from mumma’s friend chicken were out of this world, sooo crispy on the outside and soft on the in. Butter, garlic mayo, chimmi churi omgggg

I had a couple of visits here during a weekend away, once for just a beer and once I had a lunch too. Plenty of choice of eateries and a good brewery outlet too (Blackjack Brewery). Spacious and historic interior done out well. Enjoyed both visits and I look forward to returning. I had the ramen which was very good. There was also a wine and a soft drink outlet which I didn't try but good that these options are available.

Experienced a whole different side of Manchester there. There are a ton of restaurants to order food from. The vibe was very nice and I enjoyed sitting on the second floor seating.

Taco man was great, great service great good and personable... Hard to get all 3 in this age of desensitised and sanitised purchasing. Cashless but that makes sense with all the different kiosks and how busy it is.

Pizza was awful. Burnt toppings and barely any tomato sauce on it. Struggled to eat it and my friend couldn’t eat it at all. Waste of money. Unacceptable for £15 a pizza, feeling ripped off and disappointed. Will not be returning.

A good place to eat quality fast food. You choose the food stall you prefer (Asian, hamburgers, pizzas, wines, coffee, beers...), you pay, say your table number and they take it to you.

The food was amazing, we got the food from Mama's kitchen if i remember correctly, got the bbq chicken burger with the delicious jacket potato fries. The service is a bit slow, and for the couple of times i've been there, cleanliness was not the best. Great fun atmosphere for a food court. Seems to have gone down hill since it opened. It was busy, which is fine, but the tables were littered with dirty plates etc, sticky table tops, food was very disappointing. I ordered a prawn noodle dish which was all noodles with 4 prawns 😞

The atmosphere and food are top-notch, with plenty of options to choose from. Weekends are extremely busy, so finding a seat can be difficult. Also, the ordering app is a bit clunky.

Mi amigo y yo pasamos por Mackie Mayor para almorzar el sábado 8 de marzo, y ambos optamos por platos tailandeses. Tenía los fideos vegetarianos de tofu tailandés, que eran absolutamente deliciosos, y mi amiga realmente disfrutó de su Pad Thai también. Desafortunadamente, el servicio no coincidía con la calidad de la comida. La camarera rubia parecía estar teniendo un día difícil y se encontró bastante destacada, apenas nos reconoció y colocó nuestros platos agresivamente con solo un murmullo. Fue una pena, ya que la comida en sí era fantástica. Entiendo que el personal es humano y puede estar pasando por momentos difíciles. Como trabajador de servicios yo mismo, sé lo difícil que puede ser tener un rendimiento excesivo cuando se siente deprimido. Sin embargo, una comida puede costar más de una hora de salario para algunas personas, y es decepcionante cuando la experiencia comienza incómoda. Si bien no se debe esperar que nadie ponga una sonrisa falsa, sí creo en al menos mantener un comportamiento neutral y no sacar un mal humor en los demás, especialmente en un papel orientado al cliente.

Great place, but the app is awful clunky and needs a bit of polish

Excellent experience in here. Great steaks, well cooked and excellent side salad was our choice, but lots of other food options available. Very busy on Saturday afternoon, but managed to quickly get a seat. Once ordered, our food was very quick to arrive.

Nice vibes and my friends liked the food but I was refused service due to sesame and nut allergies.

Very busy Saturday afternoon. Was lucky enough to spot people leaving so managed to get a seat as it's every man for themselves. Previous diners plates and glasses were cleared away quickly. Ord we ring from the multitude of food outlets was easy via the app and this was delivered to our seats. Bar service was jot operating on the app but that wasn't an issue First visit and won't be the last

I've rencely visited New Wave at Mackie Mayor, and the quality of the Ramen has gone downhill. The products seem cheaper, the meat not as nicely cooked as before, the egg cold, the portions smaller and the vegetables burnt. Very disappointing. On top of that at the high end of the price. Will not come back.

Great place to check out on any visit to Manchester, really eclectic mix of floor, great bar, good seating with a friendly crown. It's not a place to go if you're on a budget but I will be back & I did enjoy it. Loads of veggies on offer too

On our weekend trip to Manny, we ended up visiting mackie mayor twice. We loved the relaxed but social vibe of the place. Good selection of food and drink options, really liked the table service too. All the food was excellent.

Food and drink were decent but not worth the prices. Staff were helpful and pro-active but limited choice of dishes

Great building, hosting an array of food vendors. Very busy but it is huge with loads of tables so wasn’t long before we found our spot. Ordered via the QR code and food was brought to our table. Loved the variety of food on offer and the fact you could mix and match when ordering from any of the vendors. I had pizza and it was lovely. Others in my party had tacos, chicken burgers and donuts. Staff were efficient and pleasant. This is all in the very old Smithfield Market building. There is a lift to the balcony area too for those who find stairs difficult.

Get.The.Wings Hot honey chicken wings are incredible. Homemade sauce, lots of honey, chilli and garlic but not spicy. Even with the sauce they were still mega crispy!

Fantastic place for food. Bit quicky like a good hall with kitchens on the ground floor offering various styles of food. Easy to go in sit down and order on the app with the table number. Food was quick after ordering, a variety of food offered from the kitchens. I had the BBQ Korean chicken burger with waffle fries and partner had a double beef burger and skin on chips! Piping hot and tasty! Definitely come again. What was a let down was lack of desserts and those that offered ice cream was 'sold out' has to go else where for dessert but all in all a good place to come for food especially in groups with different people wanting different food!

Our party of 45 visited Mackie Mayors to have dinner together as a prelude to an international event we were hosting in Manchester. We chose this venue as we thought it would showcase the Manchester spirit. How wrong I was.... They do not respond to complaint emails so I have had to place my feelings here. They employ offensive and aggressive security staff, who turned our visit into an embarrassment and killed the mood of the whole night. He approached us towards the end of our visit as we were wrapping up and preparing to leave. He was tremendously aggressive offensive towards several members of our party in a very poorly executed attempt to make us leave the premises. The only reasons he gave was that we were “tapping on the table” and blocking the route from the kitchen exit as people were standing up to gather belongings to leave and had been told to come upstairs, challenge us and make us leave by his security team. His tone was demeaning, demanding and completely unreasonable. When we tried to explain that we’re weren’t doing anything wrong. At one point his eyes were bulging with aggression and he even went so far to label us racists because I challenged his tone and he thought I was “taking down to him” which is a ridiculous statement because collectively we are Afro Brazilian percussionists who work as a community to support Afro Brazilian history. This was incredibly offensive to me and also a shocking experience to many of our guests who had travelled to Manchester for the very first time from as far afield as Athens to experience a weekend of the best that Manchester had to offer, he was hassling several of our guests on an individual level pulling at their clothing and manhandling them. I was highly embarrassed, even mortified by the whole experience. I have no idea if this man is a Mackie Mayor employee or supplied through an agency, but Im shocked at how this person has been deemed suitable to work in the hospitality industry, appearing to have no idea how to work cooperatively with people. Which also seems to be true of Mackie Mayor themselves as they have ignored my complaint by email choosing to offer no resolution or justification for this horrendous experience, instead opting to pocket the money we spent in the venue that night (£1500-£2000) and effectively stick 2 fingers up to our concerns. Food was ok but apparently its not possible in any of the outlets to get a salad with a steak, ended up ordering from multiple vendors. DONT BOTHER GOING YOU'LL BE TREATED LIKE TRASH - FAR BETTER PLACES TO SPEND YOUR MONEY.

First time here on a Saturday was quite busy, but could find a seat for 2. Find a seat and there will be map on the table with a qr code to order from the food stalls. Ordered the steak sandwich which seemed popular, steak was nice and flavourful, the triple cooked chips wasn't as crispy as expected and slightly over salty. The miso ramen soup base was also overly salty, the toppings where fine, the charsui could be more tender but the noodles type wasn't the as expected. It was a yellow slightly thicker ramen noodle like egg noodles not the more pale/cloudy white and thinner ramen noodle. Would definitely come again to try the other food stalls.

Food was awful. Very expensive for what it is. Ordered chicken wings which were £12 for 6. They were dry and tasteless. Managed to eat one half of a wing and left the rest as it was turning my stomach. The place felt like a school dinning hall, very loud. Just not my idea of a nice place to eat, drink or socialise.

This place gets points for the atmosphere cause the food was not it. The ramen was just okey, i wish it had more umami. It was like missing something. The char siu pork was quite tough. The egg was cooked unevenly. The three times fried fries were extremely salty. We had to shake the salt off because if not it was inedible. The fried chicken was crispy but a bit oily and kfc just tastes better. The prices are also really high, so I was expecting better quality food.

What a discovery on our day out yesterday. Great place and great to see this superb building back in use. Food excellent and great choice of beers and wine.

What a great discovery for us all! Fantastic food beer and atmosphere in the old Smithfield Market on Great Ancoats street! A most definite place to revisit! 100% recommended!

Dropped in here for lunch before going to watch Les Mis. I had the nachos with chicken, which was massive! So good. Ramen was devoured by guest number 2 and verdict was great! Waffle fries for guest number 3, also a big hit! Food was delicious, bar choices not great for soft drinks, perhaps needs looking at. Bit chilly in there, but I guess it was December, some heaters might be an idea, all in all, we really enjoyed it and would definitely return 😀

Really enjoyed our lunch at Mackie Mayor. A couple of superb real ales from the small bar, and some Japanese chicken accompanied with Goyzas. The please really filled up whilst we was there, but still comfortable and airy. It could have done with being a bit warmer, however we did visit on a very cold day. There is a wide choice of food and flexible enough to suit those on a date, as much as parents with kids, or larger groups. Worth a visit.

You can really eat a lot. You can choose between Mexican with tacos to ramen noodles or classic Asian dishes. But if you prefer something classic, you can also choose between pizza or a variety of burgers. But definitely worth a visit. The food is really delicious. However, there are fewer places to drink, but even there you can choose between wine, beer or classic drinks. The atmosphere in the hall is really cool. A little tip: First find a free seat and remember the letter and number. When you order you will be asked about it because the staff will bring the food directly to your place.

Brilliant atmosphere, decent burger from Tender Cow. Swift service and good selection of options. No kids specific options so share food to maximise value and portion size. Burger was brilliantly made from quality ingredients but slightly overseasoned. Chips well seasoned and tasty but occasionally just a little soggy.

Very noisy and cold when close to the doors. Lots of people. On the other hand, the food is very good. The service is very efficient.
