Mackie Mayor in Manchester

This is a review for Stray a fairly new part of this area which is a cocktail bar. Well laid out and a brilliant atmosphere, we enjoyed cocktails here after a lovely meal nearby. Good selection of drinks for all palates, non alcoholic ones included. We enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend a visit. Servers were very friendly too!!

Absolutely shockingly terrible most places not taking food orders and extremely rude staff avoid at all costs I cannot recommend this place in any way shape or form

Was looking for somewhere to have lunch during a short break in Manchester and came across this place. If you don’t know what it’s like it’s basically a big room with various food and drink operators. You find a seat, go and order your food from the relevant kiosks and wait for your order to be brought to your table. I had the most delicious aubergine and stracciatella sandwich on stone baked sourdough. The sourdough was amaze. Took quite a while to arrive but there were only 2 people making lots of pizza and sandwiches. Other options at the venue were tacos, burgers, etc. All looked really good. Some other customers told us about another venue they have in Macclesfield in an old cinema. Will have to give it a try.

Great for a group of you as everyone can order what they fancy. One star knocked off because there were one or two places that weren't on the online order system and we needed to pay together (work thing) which slightly limited our choices.

Great place for a meet up with family / friends and many different cuisines to choose from.. But I do think it is a little too ££ for a meal for 1 tho....

One of the best places to go when you don’t know what to eat. Amazing food from all the traders and different cuisines available. Great drinks too! Convenient as you can order via app from different places.

Amazing food and good atmosphere, worth to give a try if you're new in this area

Choice between several food options including pizza, steak, fried chicken, Thai, tacos and ramen. This food hall is a must go in Manchester. A great place to bring family or friends who are visiting. It can be hard to get a seat on the weekends but people as constantly in and out so you can grab a seat if you aren’t too large of a party size. I went for the drunken noodles and they were delicious!

Went in for Drinks on Sunday at 4.30 the place was buzzing, great range of cocktails. ,beers and wines.

Variety of food, clean and warm.

Absolute must go to. All the food is fantastic, especially the ramen, tacos and Thai food.

Was served the wrong food at the table and then got shouted at by Mumma's staff for 'taking someone else's food' !!

Nice atmosphere, cool music, lots of food option and not too difficult to find a seat! Perfect when you all want to eat something different! Highly recommended to get the Northen Quarter beat

Absolutely terrible…. The app was slow, I ordered food from Mummas….. it never came…. So after 40mins, I complained , got a refund for the food, and then ordered a pizza…. And that never came….. so I’ve spent 1.5 hours starving and left….. absolutely awful experience

Been back to sample more food and drink on several occasions. The food is varied in style but more than top quality. You choose your favorite cuisine and it is served in a food hall style at benches in the central area. Find you place first, you and your can choose their favorites. Beer is great and reasonable for manchester city centre.

Incredibly busy. But if you're lucky enough to get a seat it's great. Great atmosphere (we sat outside) and a great selection of food and drinks. Look at this amazing nachos!

"Play area" is a rather generous statement but otherwise quite nice. Recommend the Drunken Chicken!

Wow, what a place. If you are into good food and within 100 miles of Manchester, then you need to visit Mackies! It’s essentially an old warehouse building (possibly and old station or something) housing about a dozen small street food pop-ups. It’s a smashing idea, and one that has been done before (and to excellent effect, I might add). You end up with this quirky melting pot of all different varieties of food available in one place, and all of it is absolutely amazing as the competition is so hot! If you’re not good enough, there are plenty more people waiting to take your space just around the corner. We had tacos, celeriac gratin, and jacket potato wedges, washed down with beer. Lush. If you haven’t been, go. It’s excellent, and there really is something for everyone.

Price's are a little high but food and drink good worth a visit beware when paying seems tips are added just check if your willing to add them if not you can have them taken off

Everything was so unhygienic, from the visitors to the smell in the air. I have no idea why people are so excited about this place. 15 pounds for a medium pizza with tomato sauce, 5 olives and 3 anchovies. You go to the bar to get some drinks and 10 minutes later you realise that you need to come back a few times as they don't have serving trays. You can also have a slice of sourdough bread with butter for 5 pounds😂😂😂

The venue is beautiful. While there are a range of places to get food and drink from, the brunch options are almost non-existent. Expensive prices even for Manchester too.

Very enjoyable evening with work colleagues. Lots of choice for everyone and easy ordering. Buzzing, but chilled out atmosphere.

El mercado está muy bien ambientado, una barra solo de vinos, otra solo de cervezas ( con más 40 tipos de cerveza). La comida es muy buena probamos los tacos( se puede decir que son los menos recomendables). El vegetarianos con coliflor y el de champiñones increíbles pero el de pescado y de lamb para nada. Pollo frito, gyozas y la ensalada de pepino fueron una experiencia culinaria increíble.

I was recommended this by someone I know up here in Newcastle and it’s fair to say that me and my friend’s were not disappointed. A fantastic selection of delicious food and very nice beer,my medium/rare steak was cooked to perfection. My friends’s burger’s were also tasty,as they said. If you’re looking for good food in Manchester please check this place out.

There are many stalls in this morning breakfast place. Before 12pm, there were only 3 stalls opened, and other stalls were preparing. I ordered mushroom on toast from the Tender Cow stall. After payment, I just told them your table number and they would deliver. Taste wise, it was a very nice grilled mushroom. In fact, it's one of the best I have tried so far. Jusmicy and flavourful. 4 stars

Struttura recuperata da una vecchia fabbrica, al centro e al primo piano tavolate (sarebbero un po' da pulire) e perimetralmente al piano basso ci sono i ristoratori: carne, pesce, noodles, pizza (anche abbastanza buona), vineria e soprattutto un angolo birra fenomenale!

Very badly ran, waited 45 minutes for a chicken burger. When I enquired with a waitress they said they were very busy but 45 minutes for a burger is a bit much. Had to leave as we couldn't wait any longer, then I get text message saying the burger had arrived and where had we gone. I explained we were waiting for 45 minutes and couldn't wait any longer. No response, no apology, no offer of a refund.

Cool place great food and drinks

Really quaint and unusual place with a superb selection of food, hot drinks, alcoholic beverages, etc...found it in passing and so glad we did stop in for gluten free nachos, hot chocolate and a beautiful double espresso. Highly recommend this place.

I just needed a quick small bite and the Mackerel taco from Pico's Tacos hit the spot! Great building, too!

We called in here early on a Thursday evening and we're quite surprised. There's no doubt the place has character and offers some great food options, but it really did seem expensive. In fact, it seemed almost restaurant prices for what is really an informal dining experience that probably wouldn't last too long. there's a great variety of food and drink for all so if you want something different and quick, maybe it is the place for you.

What an amazing venue. There is not.kuch outside to indicate this gem is inside. It's a bit of a faff ordering first time on the app but overall the food was great and the location amazing.

This place is terrific. You simply order what you like, tell them your location, and the food comes to you. Seating is sociable (benches) and though it’s an ideal spot for a date or group night out, I found it terrific for myself and my two kids. Everyone can find something they like.

I’m sad to write this review as I was looking forward to come here. My partners food came within a few minutes, which was amazing. Mine however didn’t, which is fine, I kept waiting because I thought it would come eventually. I waited 40 mins and I was tracking my order on the app and it said it was complete, but it wasn’t as I didn’t have it. I went up to the restaurant to ask where it was and they said they didn’t get my order so they made it straight away and brought it over. My partner had already eaten their food because it was going to go cold. I ate my pad Thai by myself but it was the worst pad Thai I’ve ever eaten and I’m very sad about it because I waited ages for it. The chicken was cold and fatty and the noodles were bland. Hopefully my experience was just an unlucky one.

I was eager to try French toast, but was let down. It wasn't what I expected. It was very salty and full of dough. The place was so stuffy that I thought they would have to find ventilation somewhere.

Plenty of choice here with the pizza, burgers and Nadi goreng all very good. Plenty of vegetarian options and a buzzing atmosphere most times of day.

The food hall offers a diverse range of options, with my standout favorites being Lucky Mama's fried chicken for their burgers and potatoes, as well as Eat Pico's delicious nachos. The venue has a vibrant vibe with great decor. However, finding seating can be a challenge, especially for larger groups. Keep in mind that the overall cost is on the higher side for both food and drinks.

Lovely place to eat, a real mix of people on a Wednesday afternoon with Xmas parties upstairs. Service was excellent, food was quick and everything was clean

Went on a busy Saturday and still got food and drinks super fast. Everything was tasty and reasonably priced.

Amo lugares estilo “FoodHallen”, sabe? Um lugar bacana, cheio de chefs jovens e com comidas diferentes, várias culturas, vários pequenos produtores, mesas comunitárias, músicas legal rolando. Enfim… já entendeu? Esse lugar é isso. Uma grande mistura de tudo. Inclusive é possível uma entrada chinesa, um lamen japonês, uma pizza napolitana, um vinho espanhol, uma breja belga, enfim… volta ao mundo em um só lugar

Popped in for a quick bite before going to the frog and bucket and had the best tacos and cups of tea in the best china I've seen. A great introduction into Manchester for my friend who was visiting from out of town. Great options, gorgeous building and the app is brill and there's some really good food options here. Ive had brunch here and drinks before and each time I visit, I end up coming back and introducing more people.

Went to try out the new wave ramen, ordered a Vegan ramen and Tokyo Shoryu. The Tokyo Shoryu was a bit salty. Friendly staff, fast service, very local atmosphere.

Really enjoyable food in a great location with a nice atmosphere

Mackie Mayor is a great place to go for a fancy lunch - there are lots of options. Veggie, a few vegan (not enough but some), different cuisines from pizza and tacos to bao and salads. Plus there is a bar and multiple coffee shops. The long tables make it good for groups, as long as you don't mind getting cosy with your friends.

I grow up in Japan and worked in Tokyo before I move to England. I recommend this ramen to every ramen lover in the UK. You must try this!

It’s a must if you’re visiting Manchester. All kinds of different cuisines. I tried the ramen (which was amazing) and also some fried chicken (to die for) and steak and eggs. Frozen margaritas from the Mexican spot were also good.

Atmospheric and cosy. Great cocktails and friendly efficient staff.

Really enjoyed the penang curry with Thai crackers. The frozen margarita 🍹 were very good also. Would definitely visit again next time in Northern Quarter.

Ok food, ok services, expensive for the money BUT great location

An amazing area filled with food and drink. You have to get used to the QR code ordering that’s getting more and more popular these days but the service is fast. We had a party of around 6 people and found it was pretty tough to find seating, without waiting for a 10-15 minutes at least. It’s more suited for 2-4 people. Food offering is great and will provide enough options for everybody’s tastes.

Really really lovely space to eat, we ate the vegan nachos from Pico’s Tacos and they were lovely, perfectly seasoned and spiced! Drinks were from various cocktails which were also great

Went for lunch on a Saturday, the selection of food is quite good; pizza, Indonesian food, pasta, Mexican and burgers. Also coffee and doughnuts are available. I had tacos, pizza and a doughnut. The food was great! Seating is an issue as at the weekend it gets busy, often you have to wait for a table or can sometimes share with other people.

Great place, very busy, big selection of food and drinks but it is pricey.
