I have been using 129 HRD for a couple of seasons now . It is a great stopping point between Highbury and Islington Station and the Emirates Stadium . I have been there for both lunch and dinner and sometimes just for a quick drink after the game . The food is of a good standard and fairly priced - and they have a decent selection of wines . But the place is made by the service and the warm welcome by the manager and his team . Thank you !

Tim and Bev, who run the joint, are incredible human beings to be around. The fact that their spot is as popular as it is, is frankly no surprise. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is always gorgeous, and the courtyard - simply divine; a testament to their impeccable taste and their hard work. Yes, you may have to queue occasionally to squeeze in, but it’s worth every moment.

Excellent fishmongers and deli. The fish is excellent. Love their scallops. Their Taramasalata is a favourite of ours with some nice bread. Very simple, but makes one of my favourite lunches. Always friendly and always good. Google just asked me to update my review. Nothing to add. As good as it always has been.

Just been with friends for a bottomless brunch and what can I say??? Welll the owners Yaz & Naz absolutely lovely. Very accommodating and just class. Let’s move on to ambiance.. just fab, we had quirky little glasses 🤓 to put on and the chance of a sombrero to wear. The up and coming court yard is soon to be a great option for summer afternoons/evenings. Cocktails where gorgeous especially the Watermelon Tequila and Dragonfruit & Mango Daquiri 🤤 and fooood welll we all chose different but it was all absolutely gorgeous, quality, quantity and plentiful. We are already planning our next visit even with other groups. Seriously this is a hidden little gem that needs to be tried, it is most definatly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️s from 5 of us 🎉🎉

Went at 5pm on a Saturday and the place was buzzing, has an amazing vibe for this early. Had Jerk Chicken which was succulent and tasty. Last time I had Jerk was at a stall in Jamaica so was expecting crispy chicken with burnt bits (which I absolutely loved) this was more tender and flavour mainly from the sauce rather than the skin. Really really good though.

I’ve been wanting to try this place ever since they featured on a BBC program. I was not disappointed. I arrived with a friend and my wife, both Bajans originally, and my dog. I thought erroneously my small dog would not be allowed in but she was welcomed in. It was late afternoon on a Sunday so maybe that was in her favour as the restaurant was quiet. The food was outstanding. I chose brown stew chicken with rice and peas. It also come with fried plantain which was a bonus and a small pot of coleslaw. The chicken was succulent and tasty, a slightly sweet savoury sauce covered it which was soaked up by the rice. The coleslaw was also as is the tradition, slightly sweet but this was offset by a little sprinkle of brown mustard seeds giving a buzz of pungency which hit the spot. My fellow diners had the grilled tilapia and the escovitch fish. All three dishes were of generous proportion. The vegetables medley with the tilapia was aromatic and had a well-balanced growing heat from chilli. Unfortunately due to lack of time our group had to forego a pudding. That will be for next time. A lovely evening enjoyed with excellent cooking and great bonhomie from the staff.

We enjoyed perusing all the flavours and trying as many as we could while on holiday. Banoffee and Cream Tea came out on top!

We went for the 12 course taster menu, not bad value considering we were at the restaurant for 3.5 hours. The design of the restaurant is interesting and the staff friendly (although it became a bit of a joke how many times we were asked which was our favourite course). Most of the courses were delicious. An interesting mixture of flavours and textures. About the right amount of food across the evening. (For the chef, the sticky toffee pudding, was an anticlimax to the meal. It was nice, but nothing special. The meal should end on a high) We also had the wine pairing. The wine was very good, but not worth the money, particularly as it didn't include a drink to have with the first dish. Very cheeky.

Soooo goood! Jerk chicken and ‘doubles’ were amazing. Love all the dips, polenta chips and spring greens were bangin. Rly good value for money and easy collection. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
