Revolucion De Cuba

Arboretum, Derby, <20£
18/12/2018: Had a really great time at Revolution de Cuba. Good food drinks and company. Service was great very friendly bar staff and waitresses.
18/12/2018: Lovely food and great service from Indra. she made our visit most enjoyable as she kept the drinks flowing 😊🍸🍹

Stella's Kitchen

Hathersage and Eyam, Derbyshire Dales
17/12/2018: Arrived to a lovely warm fire on a cold winters day - ordered our food which Stella then started to cook in the adjacent kitchen - we weren't in any hurry and appreciated freshly prepared meals.
11/12/2018: Stella is a very close friend of the family so maybe we're biased - but if you want 'a meal with a difference' look no further. Stella prepares all the food herself, and it is simply delicious: you'll have to try it to see how good it is.

Armando's Restaurant

Belper North, Amber Valley
27/11/2018: This is with out a doubt the best place to have a truely marvellous meal in Belper, the service, setting, decor, atmosphere are perfect and the staff make you feel very welcome and the menu and food are superb, can't wait to visit again.
25/11/2018: Came here with some friends. Not over impressed. I don’t think we will be back there is such a thing as making people welcome but when a mature bar lady is skipping around like a fairy on speed there are times when you don’t just do that. It was a unforgettable night and in no rush to go back

The Brownlow Arms

Greyfriars, South Kesteven
20/12/2018: We met my son and his wife, they had travelled from Norwich and we from the Staffordshire and had agreed to meet in Grantham. Having looked in Tripadvisor we found the Brownlow Arms in Hough on the Hill. The atmosphere when you walked through the door was magic. The menu was excellent and the service likewis. We had a varied choice of starters, and the traditional Christmas turkey. Choice of deserts was again very good and very tasty. We left for our drive home well fed and all agreed that another visit was a mus.
17/12/2018: We booked The Brownlow Arms for our wedding anniversary. The place is just so lovely -the staff are so welcoming and attentive, we had a bottle of champagne waiting at the table when we arrived. The food is just fantastic (the Chateaubriand - perfect!). The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere - welcoming and homely but also somehow really special. I am so pleased - living around Grantham there are very few nice places to eat out. I would highly recommend to anyone - we can't wait for a reason to return.

The Horse & Plough Bingham

Bingham East, Rushcliffe
04/11/2018: My hubby and I have never been before, & we were looking for somewhere to have Sunday lunch, when a local person recommended them to us.
28/10/2018: Had heard great reviews about the horse and plough, what a disappointment my daughter and 2 granddaughters thought we would go for Sunday lunch, we both ordered homemade soup as starters and roast beef for main, my daughter got her soup and then the waitress disappeared I never got mine and there wasn’t any one in the restaurant to tell,we ordered drinks which took 1/2 to come, I asked where my starter was when she came to clear my daughters plate, was asked if I wanted it then, I said no as we had been waiting awhile for her plate to be cleared, my main came and was cold so I sent it back, it came back 10 mins later still cold but on a really hot plate, still with the horseradish I had put on before.

Los Burritos

Witham, Boston, <20£
21/11/2018: Was struggling to find somewhere to eat in Boston Lincs recently on a Monday evening, most restaurants only open market days Wednesday and Saturdays. Came across Los Burritos just five mins from our hotel and what a find, small family run eatery with authentic Mexican food. I had the fish stew which was delicious slight chilli kick but packed with flavour and plenty of fish. Also had a cocktail each margarita certainly hit the spot, if your in Boston make sure you try it out
03/11/2018: Visited the restaurant on a Friday night with my friend, there was a slight hiccup with our booking as we had booked for 7.15 and they had rebooked our table out again at 8.30 (this was all rectified though).

Bay Tree Restaurant

Melbourne, South Derbyshire, 30-45£
14/12/2018: Firstly I must say a huge well done to the Baytree for clearing up the mess left by the car that crashed into their frontage 3 weeks ago. We were expecting our reservation to be cancelled but no....up and running again within days and so our evening went ahead as planned.
04/12/2018: We returned to this gem on the night they opened after the most unfortunate incident of a car driving through their front window. Firstly my huge admiration and congratulations to Rex and Susie for managing to get their restaurant back so quickly including all the Christmas decorations. And then to the food which was fabulous as always. I loved the cannon of lamb and the wonderful liquorice parfait. Just sublime.

The Hog Stop

Loughborough Southfields, Charnwood, <20£
03/12/2018: We hired the Hog Stop for my 60th birthday party which we held at our house. Paul came and parked in the drive in the Hog Stop trailer and my guests were free to go and get a hog roast during the evening. The food is superb - succulent pork and lots of tasty accompaniments, as well as vegetarian options. Paul is easy to deal with and set things up exactly as I asked and the feedback from my friends was universally positive. If you like a Hog Roast, you will love this.
04/11/2018: Great lunch stop, selling a mouth watering selection of street food from hog roast, to beef brisket, jerk chicken and more. Good value at about £4-£5 per meal. The pork with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce was delicious. There's a few stools in a sheltered bit out front.

Oundle, East Northamptonshire, <20£
12/12/2018: Did a search around for somewhere new for a meal out. Read the reviews, booked, went. Good decision. A vibrant and pleasant atmosphere with great food and good service. Will definitely be going back again.
07/12/2018: A bright, welcoming restaurant. The menu was quite small but the standards of our choices were amazing. - every item was perfectly cooked and the quality of the ingredients was superb. The staff were very friendly and the service was faultless. Two starters, two mains and a lovely bottle of Merlot for under 60 pounds - highly recommended!

The Old Bakery Restaurant

Carholme, Lincoln
14/12/2018: A small group went for Christmas lunch. When booking the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu choices were ordered in advance and came at the correct time. The food was enjoyed by all. At the end of the meal one of the party became unwell and the staff were very supportive and concerned.
14/12/2018: Went here tonight for our work Christmas party, of which there appeared to be several others too. A bread basket was served just before the starters and when we asked if there was any more bread as the few small pieces that had been served were soon eaten we were told ' no' in quite an abrupt manner by the waiter, however more bread was brought to the table just as we finished the starter! The rest of the meal was fine, we were asked after dessert if we wanted tea or coffee, but when it arrived was told " that's £2 please" when we thought it was included in the price, it would have been good if they could have said at the time when asking if anyone wanted these that I was extra! How ever to top it off, at approx 9.45 the waiter came and said it it would be ok for us all to leave by 10pm "as they had had a busy week and had another busy week coming up and the staff wanted to go home" about feeling that we had out stayed our welcome! FGS we'd not long finished eating we were on two separate tables and was just starting to mingle between the tables and basically told to go! Not the end to a Friday festive night that we had planned! Won't come back!

St John Street Gallery & Cafe

Ashbourne North, Derbyshire Dales, <20£
24/11/2018: We visited for lunch on our way up to Chatsworth. We got a warm welcome and warm cafe on what was a freezing day.
11/11/2018: Wonderful proper food made on the premises. Lots of imagination used in preparation and serving. Homemade soup is fabulous and so are the lunches.

The Tower Restaurant

Castle, Lincoln, 30-45£
16/12/2018: I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant today with a couple of friends, including a vegetarian.
16/12/2018: It was an absolute pleasure visiting the restaurant today, I went with friends to sample what can only be described as the BEST Sunday lunch in Lincoln. The staff are helpful and friendly, and the food is second to none. What made the trip however was how accommodating the chef was for me, I had to request a couple of adjustments due to dietary requirements and what I received was fantastic.

Turtle Bay

St Ann's, Nottingham, 20-30£
14/12/2018: Been a few times and love this place. No idea if the food is authentic or not but it tastes good and is well priced.
02/12/2018: Turtle Bay, situated i Trinity Square Nottingham in Nottingham City Centre. Caribbean Resturant with a very chilled relaxing atmosphere. Food is spicy caribbean flavour with choices of meat, fish or veg option. The cocktails are exceptionaly good especially with 2 for 1 cocktails until 19.00hrs, my favorate eing Run Ting, Rum lunch or Rude Boy. The staff are all very professional and work hard.

Las Iguanas - Nottingham

Bridge, Nottingham, <20£
18/12/2018: Nine of us for lunch: the restaurant was very full (coming up to Christmas) but the waiter still found time to be very friendly and helpful. The food was as usual excellent (we have been there before and it's very reliable). The three children unexpectedly got free meals. Would have given it 5 stars, but the toilets (M and W) both need some serious maintenance and cleaning.
15/12/2018: not very busy when called in to have drink and some thing to eat just a normal place that is in the city

Crocus Cafe

Dunkirk and Lenton, Nottingham
16/10/2018: A no frills restaurant for the community. Run by voluntary helpers. You are able to gift more for your meal so that some one who cannot afford a meal can have one. Meals cooked fresh to order so no waste.
23/09/2018: We dropped in for a sossie bap - delish, great value and friendly staff, relaxed, welcoming and down to earth. Recommended! Actually, really recommended!
