A first class lunch at the Punch Bowl in Old market, Bristol today. This is the Jerk chicken salad. Wow factor presentation with flavours to match! A beautiful dish! Top marks to Chef Keith. At £12, a sensible price for an outstanding dish!

We were in Bristol for a gig on a Sunday. We were looking for somewhere to eat and happened upon the Punch Bowl. We had the Sunday lunch and chose the Pork Belly Draft. I can honestly say that it was up there with the best Sunday lunches I have ever had. The food was cooked perfectl and you can actually watch the Chef carve the meat. Beer was good, reasonable prices and the staff were excellent.

Nice ambience. Had to wait at bar to be served as food was being brought out. Ordered two veg risottos...waited an hour...but they were amazing!

Just have to say a huge round of applause for Amber and Kate behind the bar today. Nothing was too much trouble - Amber sorted the TV for the match we wanted to watch, brought our drinks out to us when the barrels needed changing, sorted the volume of the music and even charged one of our phones. And all with a smile! Thank you, you made our day 😁

As a Bristol lad who moved away, when visiting family thought we would go back to where we always loved to get a steak and chips. Was disappointed when told no longer sever steaks but was lucky to have the new chef (Ash) at bar in conversation with the manager. He was claimed they were updating the menu and asked what we were after. Being a group of brother and after meat he suggested a burger. He explained he would make sure we were happy. We were not really after a burger but the customer service by Ash and Nathan made us give a shot and we were far from disappointed. Ash suggested something he created crochets and they're 10/10, absolutely banging !! I would order them again and again as a starter. Both the chef Ash and the manger Nathan were top quality and we will be back whenever In the area! Thanks lads for turning a disappointing menu in a real banging meal!

New Station RoadMyself and my family have eaten in pretty much every Caribbean restaurant in Bristol (Caribbean Croft, Rice n Things, Biblos, Bikkle Island, Turtle Bay, Glen’s Kitchen, Vybz’s, Chef Watson and a few more). This was our first time ordering at Mamma P’s and we were a little nervous. We ordered 2 large Curry Goat, 2 large brown stewed chicken, 2 plantain, 4 fried dumplings, coleslaw, cornmeal porridge. It was a £42 order so we spent quite a bit of money here. - Negative Having had our order accepted via Just Eat, I was surprised to get a phone call from the restaurant to advise that they had run out of brown stewed chicken, so could only fulfil one order. To be fair they did offer us an alternative, but as they had also run out of Jerk Chicken, the only other chicken they could offer us was fried. I agreed for this to be substituted, but only as there was no other option. i wish they would keep their online menu updated so this wouldn’t happen. - Positives The food portions were a good size, the food was warm and tasted amazing. Will definately eat here again, hopefully next time they will be able to fulfil our order in it’s entirety. This is the only reason why i am not giving them 5/5 this time.

33 Brook Road, MontpelierA young girl nearly died in front of me in the downstairs toilets. I picked her up with her friend and carried her out and got an ambulance. The manager was not interested in her welfare. She was passing out and unconscious.

69 Stokes Croft, Bristol BS1 3QP EnglandI visited with friends for lunch and we had a brilliant meal! The Cassava was crispy yet not too oily. The meat was full of flavour and well seasoned. Great service. I recommend it here if you're looking to try something new and satisfying!
