We went for the 12 course taster menu, not bad value considering we were at the restaurant for 3.5 hours. The design of the restaurant is interesting and the staff friendly (although it became a bit of a joke how many times we were asked which was our favourite course). Most of the courses were delicious. An interesting mixture of flavours and textures. About the right amount of food across the evening. (For the chef, the sticky toffee pudding, was an anticlimax to the meal. It was nice, but nothing special. The meal should end on a high) We also had the wine pairing. The wine was very good, but not worth the money, particularly as it didn't include a drink to have with the first dish. Very cheeky.

A wonderful succession of 12 culture based delights is the best way of describing our dining experience at Amethyst in London. Carlo comes up with lovely, unexpected creations which appeal equally to the eyes and to the palate. It all starts with your hands being prepared for eating by using a spicy mist and it only gets better and better as the evening goes on. Definitely worth a trip, we’ll certainly be back.

Warm welcome by the Maitre and excellent wait staff. Then on to the impressive Amethyst (literally!) table. Dining solo I had the pleasure to be seated with a view to the kitchen, watching Chef Scotto, an artist, really and his awesome equipe do their magic. It's a surprise menu but don't worry, you will be asked for any dietary requirements beforehand. The 12 courses were really on par with several 2-star restaurants I visited recently. If I had to point out two highlights it's the farfalle pasta with pea tea, cured duck and Vichissoise and the black cod with burnt hay, caramelized miso and roscoff onion broth. The pasta course so rich and round in flavour and the cod with a burst of umami and an outstanding interplay of sweetness and acidity. Just makes you smile! While it is a pleasure to place yourself in the hands of Chef Scotto for the food the same is the case for the wine recommendations of archaeologist and Head Sommelier Ennio Pucciarelli. From the excellent blanc de blancs Champagne to a fresh white from Santorini and light and richer Italian reds, just let him surprise you. The night ended with the best coffee I had in London and the chef handing over the signed menu card as a souvenir, classy touch! One thing I will change for my next visit with company: starting earlier to have even more time to enjoy this unique experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening in London, see you soon!

Visited as a special treat, and we were blown away. Chef has some really imaginative combinations of flavours and some very beautiful presentation. The place has only one table which was intimate yet guests were seated at perfect angles and spacing that it still felt very private. It's not a loud, all screaming and dancing entrance, it's a very modest sign and easy to miss door, but once inside the ambience and the environment is such that you know you're going to be ver well looked after. It's not the cheapest of tasting menu's but if you're going to come here, then go all out and take the 12 courses, live a little, enjoy life, and you get what you pay for so you will not be dissapointed. The wait staff are really hospitable, polite and attentive, and being able to watch chef lead the kitchen and prepare your food literally at your table is a wonderful experience. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

This was the full on experience. Incredible, meticulously prepared dishes that were as beautiful as they were delicious. We all got the 12 course fixed tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was like being on a global culinary adventure. Presented with descriptions that enhanced the experience by a top notch staff in a small and intimate setting. Beautiful. It will cost a bit more but it is well with the experience.

A beautiful experience. The 12-course tasting menu and wine pairing was a truly great experience, from the knowledge and involvement of the staff to the presentation and taste itself. Would highly recommend this as a great non-pretentious fine-dining experience. Was incredibly intimate and welcoming.

A little hard to find - the door is very easy to walk past. We had the tasting menu paired with wines. I had the vegetarian option which was wonderful; as were the wines. We also got a good amount of food, I felt perfectly full by the time we left (in some fine dining restaurants I still feel hungry at the end!). Great ambience, the large table was unique as we still felt as though we were sat on our own; loved being able to see the chefs at work. The service was impeccable. One suggestion would be to provide hand towels or a finger dipping bowl, as some dishes you are advised to eat with your hands and I they felt a bit sticky after. I was offered the hand sanitiser but didn't quite do the job.

This was our much anticipated second visit to Amethyst. Once again, we were bowled over by the imaginative and varied components of the menu. Carlo has both the creative imagination to envisage an unusual and exciting combination of ingredients and then the skill to blend everything into a deeply satisfying experience. Course after course demonstrated his exceptionally wide-ranging knowledge and intelligent understanding of cuisines from different parts of the world. The accompanying ‘classic’ wines were always interesting and did serve to highlight the food but were perhaps sometimes too ‘retiring’ for my taste. It is always interesting to find out if a subsequent visit to a restaurant would have the same wow factor as the first. It did and I would absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fine dining. Added to that is the outstanding service. The warmth of the greeting from Dua as you arrive is indicative of the care that is taken throughout to make you feel at home.

Absolutely incredible experience at Amethyst last weekend - seriously fabulous food and we were hosted by such a friendly front of house team. It has been a long time since we have had food this inventive and thoughtful. We loved the concept of the surprise journey with a menu that truly captured the best of so many exciting cuisines including Italian and Japanese. The 12 course menu was perfectly balanced leaving us full but not over-full! The cadence at which the dishes came out created momentum but didn't feel rushed. The sommelier was brilliant too, recommending non-alcoholic drinks for my wife and some lovely pairings for myself. They also catered to her non-dairy requirement with dishes that were just as inventive as the dairy options. I don't doubt that this restaurant is due a few stars very soon. The chef and his team have created something really really special - I won't spoil the menu by listing our favourites - the food just has to be tried!

Venue is amazing, the table was together / apart. View of the chefs at work and service pleasant. Could be improved by limiting wine spillage and limiting sediment in the glass. Overall dishes were under- whelming. The dominant flavour was sweet. Lacked a meat dish. However each dish was tasty and I liked the spinach parcel dish. The dessert was a disappointment from a creative point, only including a slither of chocolate with Happy birthday on it. No surprises throughout. Hope this feedback helps to take it up a notch or two. Appreciate I am critical and you will no doubt please the majority.

We were gutted when Xier closed but elated when we heard that Carlo was opening Amethyst. Went for our first wedding anniversary meal and blown away with the menu. The Chefs table experience is amazing, being able to watch the kitchen and the care that goes into the food is truly special. Wine was excellent and the staff are all very knowledgeable and approachable. Couldn’t recommend Amerhyst more and have been ever since we went!

We visited on a Saturday night. The main room upstairs is an impressive space, and I liked the layout of the communal table, which allowed for an element of space and privacy but at the same time gave a good view of the kitchen in front of us. Only a 12 course tasting menu was available, priced at £150. They had two options for wine pairings, priced at £155 and £320, respectively. The selection of wines by the glass was fairly extensive as well, and quite interestingly there was also a whole menu of coffees to choose from after our meal. We really enjoyed the food throughout, there were lots of unusual flavours and combinations, and it was quite a refreshing change to have a tasting menu with Asian and African influences, rather than the usual European focus. The quantity of food was also quite generous relative to the typical tasting menu. Service was quite friendly and efficient, although the sommelier seemed a bit stretched, and some wine pairings were delivered behind schedule. Overall, a great new addition to the fine dining scene in London, and one that offers a differentiated menu and experience.

We had dinner at Amethyst and were absolutely blown away by the entire experience. Upon entering the restaurant, you're met with an enormous table that's unlike anything you've ever seen. An elegant mixture of grey stone and real amethyst running through the centre, just like a crack. We sat on what felt like our own table within the greater chef's table, and our worries of a lack of intimacy immediately disappeared. The lighting is so clever and direct, that you feel like you are part of the theatre that you're actually able to see in full view - The silent and diligent chefs, painstakingly putting together stunning dishes in both taste and presentation. This was the best looking kitchen I've ever seen, in terms of the design and also the chefs within it! The food... to die for. I cannot understand how they managed to match the aubergine with the dish EXACTLY and completely camouflage my version of the black cod! We are big fans of subtle flavours, without overpowering, heavy tastes and Chef Carlo's menu was an absolute delight. Incredibly well balanced and ingenious. It was beyond what we've ever eaten before. Coming back and soon.

It definitely has been a while since I've been blown away by a restaurant.I eat out ALOT and I got 'bored' of eating at high end restaurants with no wow factor. Well this place had it all! There aren't enough superlatives to describe this place....

Gente fresca y agradable. Opciones veganas muy buenas. Presentación perfecta de nuestra comida. Muchas especias y sabores.

Debe probar!
