After leaving it for far too long we returned to our favourite restaurant in the UK last week. I've written before how good it is and I'm about to do so again. Living in Birmingham we have a choice of Michelin starred restaurants on our doorstep, now sadly one one less with the closure of Purnell's, but it's a scenic round trip to a Cheltenham restaurant that tops them all. Obviously the level of cooking at these places is top notch but the overall experience of LCS is what sets it apart. There is no tasting menu but set lunch and dinner menus (two or three course) - which offer incredible value - as well as an extensive a la carte menu. The wine list is extremely well put together and has a pricing range which suits all pockets, unlike some of its contemporaries! Some reviewers bemoan the lack of music; others compare it to a library or church but not in a good way. We find it has a calm and pleasant ambience. The tables are well spaced and people are chatting and laughing quite freely - possibly helped by mobile phone use not being allowed in the dining area. We had the set lunch menu which allowed us to taste gurnard for the first time as well as an exquisitely cooked beef and ox-tongue dish which melted in the mouth. The cheese board is - as it always has been - a masterpiece, arriving in a wicker basket full of cheese for you to choose at the table; or let chef David select for you allowing for personal preferences to be included. The coffee and petits fours are a sublime way to finish your meal. The latter are particularly fine, varied and plentiful. I haven't mentioned the nibbles, amuse bouche or the breads including a signature brioche with bacon but they, and the excellent front of house service provided by Helen and her team, all combine to consistently deliver a superb dining experience. Parking is available at a nearby car park, currently ÂŁ2.30 for three hours - a time span which is perfect for a leisurely lunch - only a short walk away. We won't leave it so long for our next visit!

Beautiful setting, delicious food, and great service. We had the rid eye and the lobster linguine, and both were superb. Our waitress was Tanesha and she could not have been better. She was super knowledgeable and helpful and perfect amount of attentive. Thanks for a great evening!

I recently visited Konak Restaurant in Leicester, and I was really impressed with the overall experience. The kebabs, doners, and mezes were bursting with flavor and felt very authentic. One thing that stood out for me was their soups â they were absolutely delicious and perfect as a starter. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. The prices might seem a little high, but the quality and taste of the food make it worth it. I recently went to Konak Restaurant in Leicester and was generally very pleased. Their kebabs, döner and appetizers were delicious and offered truly authentic tastes. Their soups were especially successful, a great option for starters. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and friendly, an ideal place for a pleasant meal. The prices may seem a little expensive, but it is definitely worth it in terms of taste and quality.

Tried to visit here for breakfast around 1000, told we had to wait until 1130 as we did not have a reservation. It is a cafe in name only - itâs a restaurant and the staff were indifferent to the fact I wasnât aware a reservation was necessary. In my view, a cafe should accept walk-ins. If you require a reservation, they should put a sign at the bottom of the metal access steps so people are aware before they walk up there and try to get a table. Food appears overpriced and pretentious. If you want a decent breakfast, quickly and at a reasonable price, head to Wetherspoons V-Shed on the dock only a couple of minutes walk away, you will be much more satisfied. I should have gone there first rather than wasting my time walking up here.

We and our friends have been looking forward to eating on a Saturday evening at this restaurant. We booked a table which was acknowledged, arrived at the restaurant 7.55pm and the scene was total chaos. There were people queued out the door, we made it inside, there was no host to greet or even explain what was going on. Got to 8.20 still nobody came and updated us on the situation. We left and found elsewhere to eat. Really disappointing, as I have lost all confidence of booking again

Great food, but very slow service, need more staff for a busy time, like Sunday afternoon... Was waiting 20 minutes to order and then 20 minutes for the bill to arrive... Staff friendly but had to go to thr bar to request new glasses, cutlery etc.. Recommend for lovely polish food, but be mindful of the waiting time...
