This café is the best we have ever visited. Everything is homemade ache absolutely delicious. We had sublime soup and couldn't choose which cake to have so had 6 small pieces to try them all! The owner is incredibly friendly and so welcoming. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough. Absolutely fantastic.

Went here while on a golf trip. Great bar with fantastic staff. Can’t do enough for you. Ended up here both nights. Brilliant. 👍🏻👍🏻

Popped in for tea and scones (had heard they were nom-tastic) and was NOT disappointed. Fantastic scones, superb individual pots of tea and really relaxing and helpful staff. Will definitely be going back, hopefully on a regular basis as we were made to feel right at home. In addition, all the craft items on display are available to purchase and I'm torn between a few of them....so I'll need to go back and choose...over a few more visits 😎

Lovely Café with Great Service Visited this café in an old church and was really impressed. The staff were welcoming, the service was quick and efficient, and the food was excellent. My only suggestion would be to add some low-volume background music to improve the atmosphere. A wonderful place with a great purpose — highly recommend!

A very friendly and relaxed cafe. The staff are extremely helpful and genuinely friendly. The food is very good and the coffee is even better. Best of all, the cafe welcomes dogs.

This is such an atmospheric place. The Snug is where Robbie Burns would sit with friends. It is small with dark wood panelling, very cosy for a pre dinner drink. The restaurant has a lovely feel to it, again dark but cosy. The food was amazing. We had delicious canapés, gorgeous bread with flavoured bitters, and an exquisite amuse bouche. I then had sea bass to start and my husband had John Dory. The flavours were fabulous. My husband couldn't decide between the halibut or guinea fowl so the chef kindly cooked both! My main course was cauliflower and miso pasta with artichokes. Everything was delicious, presented beautifully and served by the friendly, knowledgeable and professional front of house team. Unfortunately, we couldn't manage dessert. The wines we chose were perfect. An amazing experience, thank you.

Just superb all round - the food [first and foremost] was fantastic! The vibe & atmosphere were spot-on - great music, decor, everything. Will be back for sure - gotta try that Malaysian Curry next! Had the burrito this time, which was awesome! And the Sticky Toffee Carrot Cake… Ummm… Can I have some more, please? Took me far too long to get my bum in the door - won’t be dilly-dallying about for Round 2, I can tell ya that!

Visited the Frothy this morning for the first & very last time as the cafe is closing. Whilst the cafe was comfortable the coffee wasn’t the best ever tasted and we were stunned at the price! Compared to other coffee houses close by it was surprising; could this be a reason they are not finding it profitable?

This is a modern styled café with an attractive view over the River Nith and Criffel, about 5 miles outside Dumfries. Getting to the location can involve a pleasant rural/coastal circular drive taking in attractions at Caerlaverock Castle and the wildfowl Nature Reserve. There is a free to use public car park at the site. On a solo visit in September 2024 I dropped in without pre-booking and managed to get a table despite the fact the place was quite busy. There was a quirky choice of snacks on the menu, as previously experienced, and on this occasion I had the Huevos Barqueros (£9.95) which was toasted sourdough topped with crushed avocado, (mild) Harissa, rocket lettuce, creamy feta cheese and a poached egg. The flavours were good and the overall snack was tasty however the poached egg was barely warm and the overall portion was not large. On that occasion there was a limited choice of cakes on display however I had a piece of roulade with a meringue outer edge and Black Forest filling. This slightly different treat was filling and tasted good. By the time I had added a fruity flavored low alcohol IPA to accompany the lunch my bill came to just over £20 which I thought was okay. Service was pleasant and the timing of delivery good. I followed up the visit a month later with a reservation to meet up with a couple of relatives for lunch. They were delayed about 30 minutes en route and whilst I had a coffee and admired the view, staff were understanding and there was no pressure on me to give up the table which was appreciated. Once my relatives arrived, we had a pleasant tasting lunch which was able to satisfy my relatives particular dietary requirements in a relaxed atmosphere. On both visits I noticed that the menu was a bit dog-eared and grubby looking and could probably have been better protected by being laminated or inside a plastic covering. The toilets in contrast are very well maintained! There is a small shop on the site selling a limited number of products.
