Really enjoyable night! Creative menu and really tasty food. Had the opportunity to taste starters, mains, sides, lots of desserts and numerous cocktails all made from scratch and delicious. Fantastic service and chat! Thank you for taking the time to chat with us. It's so nice to see a family run restaurant as there's not many independents around anymore. Biritto needed reheating, Dead mussels on plate. Warm risotto on cold plates. Really disappointing.

Attended the restaurant with a few colleagues and had a blast. The service was brilliant, friendly and attentive. The food was first class, and it was nice to have a menu that didn't have thousands of different options, meaning the options that were there, were freshly cooked. It's also nice to see a place cook their own chips!!!! I'll be back for sure!

Not a massive menu but meals you have never heard of before, just what you need. I think next time I will have the chicken and haggis wellington! Look at my other reviews to see where I've been!

would love to start with what matters, the food the service & the atmosphere, the starter a chicken skewer fried in a crispy batter with a peanut sauce, it's not often all three parts are great usually a certain part let's it down, not here, it was as close to perfect as it could possibly get, my main a ribeye steak, not my usual choice but took a plunge, it paid of, perfectly rich, perfectly cooked to my asking, I would go as far as faultless, the homemade chips are a throughback to my days having dinner at my nanas, a fair bit if nostalgia, everyone knows chips can make or break a dinner, they certainly made it, my daughter had the fajita pasta, her usual choice, very impressed she was her marks a 10/10, and my wife had the chicken escalope, slightly on the large side but that's better than being on the small side, she loved it, the chicken through white, the batter a lovely texture with beautiful taste, the desserts? Well if I were yous go and find out for yourself, the service was nice and relaxed a calming atmosphere, crumb will become a regular eating place for us as a family, experience, special!!!

What a great place! Excellent food at reasonable price with a set menu on Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm - 8pm, 2 courses for £15 and 3 courses only £18! We had garlic mushrooms /haggis bonbons, Half promo/ chicken pasta, brownie with ice cream/ vanilla ice cream. I had the haggis bonbons, which were little balls of tasty haggis dipped in batter and deep fried and the half promo. This was new to me coming from the south, but it is half a breadcrumbed chicken breast, deep friend and covered in béchamel sauce and cheese, grilled and served with hand cut chips with their skins on. Absolutely delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated in a modern style, which creates a great atmosphere. Owners are friendly and attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely evening!

I was looking forward to trying Crumb again after they reopened. I wasn’t disappointed, the food was lovely and lots of gluten free options so I look forward to a return visit. The restaurant looks great and the staff were friendly.

Excellent menu, not very extensive but a good choice of different foods. The service was top notch, if your in the area I'd recommend this restaurant. Recommend the Boro Parmo 👍

Where to start after a long anticipated return we couldn’t wait to try crumb! So tonight we went for my birthday! The interior is gorgeous and the tables/booths are well laid out. The drinks are lovely and at £5 a cocktail which is available on a friday night they are value for money. Sadly, that’s the only thing that was value for money! We had the Scallops (or shall I say polenta as there was far more of it) and the chicken pate. The Scallops were miniature, meaning they were lost in the dish amongst the chorizo, polenta and bbq sauce. If you had blind folded me I would not have been able to tell you I was eating scallops and at £11 you want to be able to taste the supposed main ingredient! The chicken liver pate accompanied by mushrooms was more sizeable and probably the best dish of the night, the mushrooms were flavourful and the pate smooth. We then moved onto the mains we had the wild mushroom pappardelle and the beef brisket burrito. The pasta ribbons had clumped together in the cooking process meaning the majority of the pasta was inedible/uncooked. The sauce was flavourful but I am unsure how the pasta made it out of the kitchen as this was bound to have been noticeable on plating. The beef brisket burrito was average at best, something you would expect to find in a pub chain and not be paying £18 for. The service was good at the beginning of our evening when there were only a couple of other tables. However, once a few more tables arrived service became poor. We were over half way through the mains before a member of staff approached and I could raise the issues with the pasta dish. We were offered a free £5 cocktail as a resolution but it meant I couldn’t eat half my main course. We opted in the end not to have dessert and to get the bill instead. We also over heard the waitresses telling tables that multiple dishes were unavailable which I thought was strange for it not even being middle of service on a Friday evening ahead of a weekend. Overall, we left feeling disappointed and unsatisfied. Eating out isn’t cheap these days but I don’t mind paying for good food and service. However, I feel the prices are a little on the high side for the food we received. Definitely some teething issues still to be worked out. Sadly we won’t be rushing back.

We visited Crumb last night, after a long awaited return. From the new decor to the service from the staff, everything was top class. The diverse menu met the needs of our party, with everyone being catered for thanks to the eclectic mix of dishes. There’s really something for everyone at the restaurant, and we can’t wait to come back and try some more dishes and cocktails. Welcome back Crumb!

After a long break away due to their fire it was with in-trepidation we visited. The menu is an odd mishmash of ‘traditional fayre’ e.g. pate, chicken with haggis then things like Kuala Lumpar Fried chicken and Boro Parma. I think it’s got a bit of an identity crisis. Service was awful! Young lad didn’t know what any of the dishes were stating he was ‘just new’, we got two mains, no cutlery, then the next table got 2 starters delivered, our 3rd main came, still no cutlery and one main was burnt black. Food was just ok, it all sounds pretty exotic like coconut prawns and the Kuala Lumpur fried chicken but in essence they were both coated in breadcrumbs/ batter and deep fried. Tables around us were grumbling of poor service, not getting food at the same time and poor content to their dishes :( All in all it just didn’t hit the mark all! I felt like I paid 19£ for a KFC. not encouraged to return sorry. So disappointed as we’d waited so long to try it!

Lovely new look to the restaurant, really nice atmosphere, relaxed and the staff were all lovely. Food was great, we had the beef short rib and the Kuala Lumpur chicken which were both really tasty, and had the ooey gooey cake for dessert which was SO good. Really reasonably priced, had a great night. So glad to see Crumb back open again!

Recently re-opened after being closed for two years. The place is looking lovely inside and the food and service was spot on. Staff could not have been nicer. Good variety of gluten free options too! Will certainly be back!

Great little place, been in a couple of times recently and will certainly be in again soon (COVID Permitting) interesting menue, good service and reasonable prices.

Was OK but i won't be back. Went to the breakfast with santa for the kids. The santander was good. Stopped to speak to all the children and did a couple of laps round the room so no one felt left out. The books and colouring in pictures with crayons were enjoyed by the kids too and helped keep them still while waiting for santa to turn up. However I never got my coffee and the kids didn't get their drinks either. Yogurts were brought for the kids but had to wait 5 minutes for spoons by which point one had lost interest and it wasn't eaten. Overall it was a good experience for the kids and they has a good time but was let down by poor service.

Had a nice night out and meal at The Crumb restaurant, food was gorgeous and freshly prepared, bursting with flavors, textures consistent with all I had and environment was nice and ambient. Good restaurant if you're looking to treat yourself or a loved one to something nice to eat. Will definitely come back again. Big up yourselves the team at Crumb.

Been past this place multiple times without realising it was a restaurant. Very plain exterior with 2 plants by the door and classy black and white theme doesn't give too much away. I googled the place and saw the menu which looked interesting and so booked a table for the following evening. I was not disappointed from the moment I walked in. The interior is clean and modern and the waiting staff were so friendly and welcoming. The menu is large and varied and I found it difficult to choose. I had the chicken and haggis dish which is delicious and a very generous portion. The prices are very reasonable given the quality. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back.

Really good place! I was looking for a Internet cafe and I could not find an option in Dumfries, and thanks god I went to Crumb. Nice food, service, even the music is nice! They have internet and plugs so if you are looking for a spot to work while have a coffee, that is the call! Well done!

Visited for the first time in a while . Starters amazing . My husband thoroughly enjoyed his risotto. I had short rib beef which was disappointing. Too much fat for my liking . Has not put us off returning .

First class service with good quality food

We have been here a couple of times and have to say it is in my opinion the best restaurant in Dumfries. Our lunch was delicious. The service was excellent and deserts devine. Cannot recommend enough.

Lovely meal. Everything fresh, homemade and full of flavour. I had the Meat pizza then a chocolate fondue. My friend had the Malaysian Calamari then the Mussels and Chips then the Lemon Tart and a coffee.... Everything was delicious and the service was good. Also love the decor/ surroundings, very relaxing.

Food was exceptional … have recently been to a Tom Kitchen establishment and this surpassed the quality of the food and atmosphere which was relaxed and contributed to our experiences . Front of house staff were experienced and attended to everyone attending . Thoroughly satisfied

On a family holiday and booked a table on a Tuesday for 6 people. Restaurant was busy with lovely ambience. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Menu really varied and well cooked… and the wine was delicious. If you’re in Dumfries you should definitely plan a visit.

Very nice people, lovely food and very accommodating. (As an 12 y/o) they let me order off of the lunch menu and accommodated my pick-I-ness (they even cooled down my custard after they made it!)! Again, lovely staff and amazing food. 5stars. 10/10. Fantabulous!

Booked a table in Crumb for a lunch time meal with the family (wife plus 2 boys 16yrs and 14yrs) We had 2 burgers, the curry and the French Dip. All of our meals were delicious and the service was great too! Recommended!

Crumb is just on the edge of Dumfries town centre. It's a fairly small restaurant but not tiny. The menu has a variety of styles, including a range of pizzas. There is also a small vegan menu. The food we had was delicious and we would definitely return.

I tend not to bother leaving reviews but felt I had to this time as the food was fabulous and the staff very friendly. I really can’t recommend it highly enough. When looking for somewhere to eat in Dumfries this has to be at the top of the list

Came for lunch with hubby and our 2 kids, we were staying at a local caravan park, and came across here, went for the lunch menu which was great value and the food was absolutely amazing and such great value for money, the lady who severed us was very friendly, we felt very welcome would love to return one day

Just had such a delicious lunch at Crumb, and it was very good value too! Stylish setting and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

Went with hubby for a birthday meal. Starter was lovely and hubby's meal great. Undercooked nan for me with my pasta. No one came half way through meal to ask if everything OK too busy talking to each other behind the bar. Mentioned it when waitress came to collect plates. Said she'd mention it to chef. Another waitress came to take payment but not even an acknowledge even though it was clear to see the nan bread was undercooked. No mint, just the bill and nothing else said. Shame as I have eaten here a few times before, always had a decent meal staff usually very attentive won't hurry back though. Wasn't actually that bothered about the nan bread being undercooked as ate hubby's chips instead, it was the don't really care attitude.

Excellent food, excellent portions, excellent service and very punctual delivery by very polite staff (during lockdown)... can't wait to eat in as soon as the lockdown is finished!

Nice warm welcome. First impressions were: simple, homely restaurant with normal COVID rules in place. We had scallops followed by cod and calamari followed by duck. Sadly none of these were executed particularly well. The scallops were over cooked by a minute or two, the cod was unseasoned, the calamari was strangely undercooked yet chewy, the duck was very tasty but far too tough. It would have been so much better if it had been rested properly. The young waitresses were friendly and eager to please but we were never asked how we were enjoying our dishes, even when I asked for a steak knife for my duck! We’ve enjoyed Crumb’s home delivery several times during lockdown and hopefully tonight was just an off-night.

My daughter and I had our first lunch out since March, we felt very safe with tables well spaced and all covid rules in place. Food was exceptional and a great price, service was friendly and helpful would definitely recommend and hopefully will visit again...

In difficult times it is very difficult to deal with forever changing rules and regulations. It is very rewarding to find a resturant that is working towards providing their customers the best in customer service as well as providing a satisying and innovative menu. The food was very tasty .The menu offered good variety and the cost very affordable . Try it ..you wont be dissapointed.

From the warm welcome onwards our visit was an absolute pleasure. The food was absolutely delicious and the service personal and pleasant. Our visit was at lunchtime, and our lunch was just perfect. We will be back to this friendly family run restaurant.

Drink options are great, food options have been reduced but still a very good menu where nobody will struggle to eat. Prices are extremely good and the staff are always happy and helpful.

We had dinner here last night. Couldn't ask for.more attentive service by our lovely waiter. The food was truly beautiful...and l admit lm a hard critic. The haggis chicken was beautiful, moist and peppery.. actually the best l've had... ever. Thoroughly recommend it 🥂⭐

Superb food and a lovely atmosphere. Very professional staff too.

Food was amazing. I had the fillet steak which came with a peppercorn sauce. The steak had an amazing grilled taste that was so good you hardly needed the sauce. My wife had the sausage and mustard risotto which was also extremely good. Tbh we struggled what to choose as the menu choices were so good... You could eat here every night for 3 weeks straight and try something new each time. If you have a sweet tooth... And it's on the specials board... I highly recommend the blondie. It was incredible. Highly recommend this place 👍

Lovely meal and excellent staff. A varied menu from burgers to some delicious steaks. The chicken satay started and particularly the Hawaiian Ribeye was fantastic. The ribeye was very flavoursome with nice fries and coconut deep fried onions which I have never seen before.

Staff very accommodating, as they moved us to a quieter table, even without asking, We had chicken stuffed with haggis which was superb. There was a mix up with the dine out deal, from the government But overall the meal was excellent

Well worth a visit if in Dumfries. Great service. Generous portions, good selection on menu. The cabbage n bacon and the tangy challots were scrumptious as part of beef short rib.

Staying overnight in Dumfries and looked for somewhere for dinner at short notice. Found Crumb on the Internet and were very pleased with our find. Lovely wee place. Good atmosphere. Maggie who looked after us was efficient, pleasant and vibrant. Made us feel so welcome....

Lovely little restaurant, a little pricey but good food.

Our meal was fabulous. I had the duck and then lemon tart for dessert. Excellent service, food was full of flavour and such a relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely return to try more dishes.

Early dinner set menu was fantastic value. 5 mains to choose from with 3 vegetarian options. Staff were very attentive and ambience was lovely. Food was delicious and portions were plentiful. Good cocktails menu too.

What a find! A cosy and quirky dining experience on a cold January evening. The restaurant is an intimate size without feeling crammed in and we could tell the menu was created by a passionate, independent Chef. I loved the design elements in this place with it's Mediterranean elements to it's clean cut 'arty' feel. The waiter was brilliant and really took his time to discuss the wine list/menu. The pricing is amazing. Super friendly environment but also perfect for a date with my partner. A great location, close to the river with other bars to head to on foot to finish off a lovely evening. We really enjoyed our meal and on thanking the Chef, we could easily see the hard work and passion behind the dining concept. Nothing was too much trouble. We will be returning and recommending.
