Great wee cafe in the centre of Dumfries and my go-to place for a morning coffee. More character than all the other "chain" establishments in town put together. Table service. Dog friendly. Lovely staff. What's not to like 👍

This place was just awful!Table was sticky. When we tried to order it appeared there was a problem with a broken fridge/freezer which meant that most menu items were unavailable, would have been nice if they told us that when we arrived. My husband decided on a bacon and sausage roll, they had no rolls (seriously?) so he settled for a bacon and sausage sandwich which he said was nice enough.Sadly by this time i was a bit hacked off so i only had an appletise.I never considered going here before but most places were strangely shut! They said it was a little late in the day to be eating-it was just past 2pm!I wouldn't go back and i can't recommend the place.I had to grab a roll at Greggs which in hindsight would have been a better first option!

A lovely friendly cafe, busy with tourists and locals. Small but varied choice of food, well cooked and very tasty. Real food. Not expensive.

We knew this would be a good choice when the sign on the door said "dogs welcome "! We just had bacon and sausage baps but I needed a knife and fork to eat mine, it was that big! Very tasty. The coffee was a very good roast as well. The atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable. Thankyou and thankyou from our 4 legged pooch Trevor! Although he spent his time under the table, there were other dogs in the cafe, all chilled out and proving that serving dogs and their owners is good business 😀

I absolutely love this place. A member of staff took the time to chat to me about my broken wrist, offering sympathy and reassurance. I was very touched by her concern. Clearly the staff here really care about their customers and, incidentally provide coffee that’s first-rate. All power to their collective elbows.

Lovely, welcoming place that is one of the real hearts of the community. And the coffee and food is lovely. A great place to have a coffee and a bit of cake. Their evening programs are fantastic as well.

This was just lovely. The food was great, the service was excellent. The vibe and people in there were just our sort of tribe. As cafe owners in the Yorkshire Dales we just thought it was spot on. Well done everyone

Dropped in for a quick lunch and had the most amazing Fajita Chicken Stew with artisan bread - one of today's specials. A colourful warming bowl of spicy complex flavours, just perfect for a dull October day. Balance between taste and spice was perfect. Other items on the menu were tempting - but this was a great choice! Staff are very friendly and efficient in this cafe - would wholeheartedly recommend it!

Spotted this place whilst walking through the town. Nice menu for lunch with some tasty options you don't always see. Friendly service. Reasonable price. Looks like the venue is used for lots of events we we're only in Dumfries for the day but would certainly return here!

Such a friendly place! It's not very often you go to a cafe and get offered free birthday cake! But that's the kind of place the Stove is. A good choice of vegan dishes too. I had the falafel, humus, avocado and siracha toastie with lemon slaw. Delicious! Not only is the Stove a cafe It's a social hub with an extensive events programme; films with Q & A, arts and history sessions plus regular Climate Kitchens and Repair Shops. And the music's not too loud too.

First class cafe in Town centre of Dumfries with plenty of space. Dog friendly which is great for us. Friendly helpful staff. Good menu, mainly snack types but suits us. We had coffee and toasties which were great. If nearby pop in.

First ever visit on a Sunday. Three course lunch for £15, two for £12 and just the main for £8.95. Good food and comes with a hot or cold drink (cannot say cold as fruit juice had not been chilled). Will be back.

We popped in here for some breakfast before heading home. The staff were lovely and the menu had a good variety to choose from. The food was very tasty and portions were very generous at very reasonably prices compared to other places around, we definitely will pop in again when we're back in the area!

Excellent filled rolls, can highly recommend the roasted chicken with home made coleslaw on brown along with the cheese savoury with salad on brown. Other fillings looked fresh and appealing. Staff were good and prices very reasonable. Will be back!
