Where do I start? From the minute of booking and yes you do have to prebook ( they don't do walk ins), to the moment you leave, the whole experience is personal and first class. Knocking on the door may seem strange but from that moment on Rose knows your name and is the perfect host. Embrace the atmosphere of the restaurant it's one sitting and your meal is also prebooked. You are never rushed and encouraged to take your time. The food is what you pay for, Quality and lovingly cooked by Patrick (chef/owner) who comes to see everyone after their meals and spends time talking to you about you, and your meal, afterwards you can stay at the table or retire to the lounge area which we did for cocktails. I've never experienced such warmth, fantastic food and yet intimacy in one hit but I'll definitely go again Starter: Goats cheese salad Main: venison lasagne Desert: scottish tiramsu Bill: no suprises as prebooked plus whatever drinks you order.

A lovely cafe in Lionel. Excellent home made soup and a great selection of home bakes, scones and cakes. A good selection of filled rolls and a varied slection for all day breakfasts .It is small but staff very friendly. There is a super wood burning stove. Some nice souvenirs for sale as well. Well worth a visit if you’re in the area.

I really can’t say enough wonderful things about Amy’s Place, Alison & Mark and such wonderful people who go over and above for their customers, if it’s just cake you want after exploring the beautiful countryside or sandwiches, soup or one of the other very tasty treats on offer you can’t go wrong Alison very kindly made me a sugar free pudding when Finding out we were coming to stay for a week nearby and she make all the cakes herself and Mark makes a wonderful coffee or drink of your choosing, I really love all the locally sourced treasures that they sell too and find multiple things to take home with us. Mark & Alison also raised over £1800 for MacMillan cancer support charity this year when Alison cut off all her hair, well done Alison you’re amazing. So please stop by and enjoy a tasty treat a drink and two wonderful human beings who run this local business and welcome everyone the same was with a smile and infectious enthusiasm. I can’t wait to visit again.

We stayed overnight in the B&B, and had the hairy coo themed afternoon tea. If you book an overnight stay, you get a private talk and opportunity to hand feed the coos in the morning. The food was delicious, it would never have occurred to me to make a toasted sandwich with french toast - an absolute revelation. We also opted for the full Scottish breakfast and it was delicious. This is a cosy family run business thats very welcoming. I would definitely go back. Make sure you book if you’re going peak season - we went the first weekend of their being open and it was steady traffic even during the off peak.

Our second visit to the cafe and it was just as good as the first. Messaged on Facebook before we went and received a very quick reply. It was open for takeaway only so the tea room's tables were removed, creating plenty of space to move around in. A wide selection of food available for mid-morning on a Tuesday, including a great selection of cakes. Gluten free cake option available, as well as a range of cakes. We had four different ones between us and each one was, just delicious!

What a fantastic find on Skye. We called in for a coffee in the morning, which was very good. After exploring the area for a few hours, beyond the cafe, I suggested to my husband we call in for a bite for lunch as there was not much else open between this place, and going to the Nest Lighthouse. We enjoyed the Quiche and salad, and a delicious piece of home baked slide. A delightful setting and with the sunny day, it was fabulous to sit outside the Yurt and in the garden, enjoying the scenery. Fabulous, friendly service too, and value for money, i.e. not expecting save for the coffee, slices or meal.

I'm always on the look out for something different and this quaint tea shop in the wilds of Shetland fits the bill. I had the Victoria sponge, which was excellent. The café has a warm comforting ambience and the staff and service are excellent.

Fantastic brunch, arrived during a very bust spell, staff stayed cheerful and friendly and we got seated within 10 mins, I had Turkish egg and they were very good and very spice, Hubby had the black pudding skillet he said it was very good again something was spicy, the sourdough bread was a star. We also had a sweet treat each, myself a black forest doughnut this was amazing and hubby on the recommendation of another customer had the carrot cake this was also amazing we both also had a coffee each. I definitely recommend rain, for friendly staff, delicious well priced food and lovely atmosphere.

Came here during a ride out from home on my Harley. Opted for Quiche, salad and a banana and strawberry smoothie. Food was totally delicious and I was able to get a table outside to both watch my bike, enjoy the sun and the amazing view. Highly recommend The Alley for an excellent lunch.
