The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Central Scotland

Great place to go for breakfast and lunch.

Booked for Ceilidh night. Fantastic, everyone mixing, having a laugh and fun, what life's about, certainly worked up a sweat with dancing and worked my delicious tea off,superbly cooked and beautifully presented! Lovely staff.

Absolutely love Subway. Fantastic food and great service from friendly staff.

I’m embarrassed (for the restaurant) to write this review. But here goes… We booked a table for six people for 2.30pm on Saturday. We were contacted at 1.48pm, telling us that they “had a problem” starting their shift (!) and that they would take us at 3.30pm… So we delayed our lunch for an hour. When we arrived at 3.30pm (to an empty restaurant), the waitress was surprised to see us. We mentioned our text which received a quizzical response from her. She then explained that firstly she had just started her shift, secondly the text hadn’t come from her and thirdly the chef had also just arrived. She said that they would “probably” start serving food after 4pm but that there were plenty of restaurants down the road who would have space for us. So we went to Pacos (down the road) and had a really excellent meal. On the way back up the road, we looked into the window of The Bothy and I was (un)surprised to see a couple of tables of customers with booze but no food. Whilst I am hopeful that we might have been served eventually, had we waited for the chef to get his/her act together, I am not certain that we’d have been served this side of Christmas - we’re currently in August - which is a shame since I can’t wait that long (I’m in charge of trifle this year). But seriously, this was bad communication and terrible customer service. Avoid this restaurant- go to Pacos instead!

After visiting castle went here for lunch before walking back down hill,the menu outside looked good and quite reasonable for a 5 star hotel.very friendly staff and prompt with service,food was excellent could not fault would recommend.

Second bad experience in the span of a few months. We live locally, and loved it here our first time as a couple. Went in, and the bar staff seemed irritable. We ordered our food, and were told a couple items weren’t available. I made two trips to our table to ask my other half if she wanted something different. I asked the bar staff to hold my spot. I returned and they were taking someone else’s order. When the order was in, people before us got their food. Two sets of families came, ordered, ate, and left. The waitress came to us, and said she just found our ticket, and that some food we ordered they no longer had. They offered to refund us, we accepted, still assuming we would get our meals. Then they still didn’t bring the food. Usually after a hour especially, they’d refund you anyways in any restaurant as it’s a ridiculous thing to have happen…. But it seemed like they cancelled our meals. When we asked they brought it out a half hour later, hanging out of take away boxes. We were just shocked. We wanted to relive the experience of our first date. I’d had paid again just to sit in and eat, as we really liked it there before. Quite unreal. In some ways it felt like we were discriminated against (though we weren’t, it just had the same effect on your feelings as being discriminated against. If you know you know). Anyhow, we will never return, unfortunately.

Went with family all had different tastes ages from 8 to 85 all enjoyed it staff fantastic very attentive couldn't recommend highly enough

We stayed here for 3 nights during the Easter weekend. The staff were extremely friendly, the room was spotless, we had a dog and everyone was very friendly around the dog and just as welcoming. Thres the restaurant which doesn't welcome dogs which is separate from the bar side which which does welcome dogs so they accommodate both. We had breakfast lunch and dinner, although the menus aren't the biggest the food is absolutely outstanding, one of the best places we've ate to date. The prices are fantastic and we couldn't recommend the hotel more. It's very cozy, has a fire and you'll want for nothing. Peter, Caitlin and Ellie were on duty during our few days aswell as another girl. They were all very well educated in the area and extremely helpful. If your looking to stay in connell or close to Oban CHOOSE HERE! the sunset and surroundings are beautiful. We extended our stay because we loved it that much. And was surprised that we got a change of bedding and new towels when we came back from our walk out room was completely refreshed. 😁 We will definitely be back again! Thanks so much team!

I came today to visit after following on social media for a while. I am extremely disappointed the way we were treated by a staff member. We asked staff if we could move seat(this was too the right hand side sea view), we were advised that we couldn’t due to the table being more suited for larger parties, I fully understand this. I told staff, it was ok would sit where we were and she offered another table which we moved too(the left hand side sea view which two people had just left and she was cleaning the table). The staff(glasses with curly hair) who took our order came out after this and told us we can’t just move seats. She done this loud in front of everyone. We explained that member of staff had offered this seat. She then said well my manager has told her to come out ,to tell us to move. My partner again explained to her that staff had told us we could move there and she said well you can’t. We decided to leave due to be nature of the way she done this and implication in front of other customers that we had done something wrong. I have never been anywhere in my life been treated like this. I understand you are running a business but the staff could have spoke to us in a nicer manner and directly to us. I wish I head read the reviews here prior to driving over three hours. Appears this seems to be happening quite often.

Stop in here twice and greeted by friendly staff. Food was delicious. Had their homemade burger and came back the next day for their full Scottish breakfast. Great view of the falls as well.

Another wonderful breakfast at this fabulous cafe. Food quality is unmatched and staff are so friendly. Will be back again soon.

Quite a straightforward menu and seating available when other places along the High Street didn't. So this was welcome.

Where to start with this one. First of all, I never write reviews - so the fact that I am as a warning to other folks, is telling right off the bat. The village itself is lovely, but whoever was in this hotel bar after 1800 was rowdy as anything. The bar staff weren’t interested in telling them to calm down or quieten down, leading to couples and families leaving after shortly arriving. This eventually led to folk spilling over into the street past a sensible hour with them banging on windows and shouting so you can’t sleep. To boot, in the morning the hot water wasn’t working either. Despite trying multiple ways to get it to come on. Overall, the room was unclean, it looked like it hadn’t been hoovered in some areas for years. I would not recommend.

lovely as usual. such a nice ambience and friendly staff. the food was really yummy and the childrens meals exceptional. they cater for all and highly recommend . tiny glitch in that the ladies toilets were not up to standard and one out of order
