Came in a group of 13, prepaid £50 each as it was a large booking for a joint birthday celebration. We arrived 20 minutes later than the others in our group and yet the table wasn’t ready for another 10 minutes. We were promised bottomless drinks from the entire cocktail menu but received jugs of juice with hardly any alcohol (and we didn’t receive the first round of drinks for 40 minutes for a 2hr bottomless slot). When the food came out (an hour in) the mixed meat grill wasn’t exactly the same as what was listed on the menu that we received when booking. They replaced the jumbo sausage with prawn skewers although one of the girls in our group that had pre-ordered that option weeks before has a shellfish allergy. There was one poor girl waiting ALL tables most the night and only one person behind the bar. Painfully understaffed, awful customer service, the music was so loud you had to shout to be heard by the person sat next to you and the girls toilet was disgusting. The mixed grill was actually very tasty when it arrived but the sides came out after we had nearly finished our grills and then the waitress brought out a tray of sauces once all our food was eaten. 💀 Because we had such a poor experience, management offered everyone a £10 refund and for some of us to return for a free visit (I’m not going back, are you mad?) If my friend hadn’t persistently complained to the management, they wouldn’t have offered any resolution. I would say if you don’t mind very loud music and you’re coming as a pair or a small group of friends, you could have a better evening but this venue was simply not equipped to deal with a group of 13, despite happily taking £50 each (£650 table) for our booking in advance. Shame for my friends whose birthday celebrations were tainted by this experience.

The Cornish Bakery has a little shop outside the main doors of the Southbound Services. They had the usual options, including my favourite choice of chicken, bacon and leek, but also a sweet apple, rhubarb and custard one that I just had to try! Both were delicious, but there were plenty of other options to choose from. The staff were friendly, the service was quick, and the prices were reasonable. I'd definitely grab a quick bite from here again.

Excellent decor, great atmosphere and delicious cake. Something the area has been crying out for, we were so impressed with the vibe and would recommend it to anyone who wants to visit somewhere with a lot of character and also very trendy.

I dropped into The Good Bean today for a coffee and a slice of cake whilst passing some time in Corby. It is a modern, fresh and clean coffee shop / cafe with tables and chairs and easy sofa's. There was a nice selection of homemade cakes (I had the Victoria Sandwich and it was excellent) and the mug of coffee was great too. Prices were very reasonable with my very generous slice of cake and latte costing just £4.80 to eat in... Take Away is even cheaper. The service was great and the ambiance relaxed. If I had one small piece of constructive feedback it would be to get customer WiFi. I had some work to do while I waited and enjoyed my cake and it would have been great if I could have got online.

Bought a sourdough apricot pastry and a cinnamon roll from this stall in Stockport Market. They were absolutely delicious! Will look out for them again.

Lovely lunch and a warm welcome at this hidden gem just off the high street. I enjoyed the quiche from the specials board and the homemade cakes are a must - we couldn’t resist once we saw them being delivered to another table!! Good atmosphere and definitely worth a visit.

The Cafe might not have a particularly inviting appearance but the standard of service and food was very high. The manager was both pleasant and very industrious and her attention to sanitisation between customer visits was exceptional. She had even made the delicious fruit crumble herself.

Today I visited this lovely gem of a cafe. Freshly made moussaka as light as air. We had to wait as it was cooking when we arrived very early for lunch. For the three of us eating moussaka and having coffee and teas it cost less than £6 per person. Amazing value for home cooking. Will I go back? Of course I want to try the other items on the menu!

My twin brother Stephen and I were on our way to The Raven Pub to meet friends to celebrate a birthday and dropped into a few pubs on the way ,a new pub for me was The Avenue Lounge and I must say it was pretty good. The pub itself has a nice look ,a cool looking serving bar ,lovely decor and furnishings and lots of seating options both inside and outside ,it's a nice pub to chill out in. We were here on a Thursday afternoon ,pub was busy with a nice vibe ,we ordered and were served beers from Carling Brewery ,served iced cold and sparkling ,we kicked back ,chilled out and took in the lovely pub we were in. Not my normal tipple ,more a real ale or craft beer fan myself but this beer was tasty ,freezing cold ,thirst quenching ,just so easy to drink ,a really tasty lager style beer indeed. We both really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and for a first time visit to here we had a great time. The Avenue Lounge is easy to locate along Longmoor Lane. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. Well worth checking out if you're in the area.
