Home made and delicious food prepared by Claire and her team at a very affordable price. Been back a few times since. The roasts and the liver and bacon are to die for!

Popped in for lunch as I had a gift voucher and will definitely be returning. Everything was nicely cooked and at the appropriate temperature. Particular shout out for the homemade sticky toffee pudding, with custard. It was lovely!!

Afternoon Tea for 3. This little hidden Gem, is a really welcoming place. Food always excellent , good honest English Grub. Our Aftetnoon Tea, was well presented. Tasty, and the service was excellent. Martin as front of house really great. He's attentive very funny also very professional. Always made to feel very welcome. My other 2, guests were over the moon, ax this was their first foray to Claires, but I'm sure it wo t be their last. Thank you also to the staff behind the scenes.

My wife has been today with her 'Ladies wot Lunch' group and thoroughly enjoyed her visit. She says there was a lovely atmosphere and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. She would definitely go again.

I'm giving 5 stars as I popped in by accident whilst working in thorngate Hall and was very impressed with the food. The wife had the club sandwich which for less than £5 was the size of the house, I just had a burger, but it was a bloody nice burger. Well done I was not expecting what you are producing down there.

There were 25 members of Gosport Opensight having our annual just after Christmas Meal, we were made to feel very welcome. The meal itself, service and the room were all perfect for a social group like ours. Bury House was an C18 house, and it still has a feeling of lots of space.

I’ve been here quite a few times now and I mostly have the butternut squash tagine or a vegetable curry... and a coffee with either one too :). I have had veggie sausages with mash and onion gravy too. They were ok but the sausages had a weird aftertaste... kind of chemically tasting. It can be pretty quiet in there which is good and the staff are friendly too. I found out about this place through a disabled charity I am a part of. We had a committee meeting here but funnily enough it was a little too loud for us that day :). We had a slice of cake while we were there and that was nice.

Fantastic selection of beers on tap and fellow patrons are really friendly. The pub dog is particularly partial to a soft pat or two, 10/10 recommend. I don't think the publican likes people or is very introverted and thus 3/5 for service, but were not rude. This should not put you off visiting. They don't have food available but have snacks available, and lets face it, you are there for the beers.

Was looking for somewhere for a bite to eat with the kids. Had a quick search and this popped up with good rating. Went in no booking thinking we won’t get a chance, but the staff squeezed us in, was impressed with the welcoming of the staff, very positive energy, nothing was a problem to meet our needs. Then the food wow the best burger I haven’t had in a long time, and in a cafe. Compliments to the chef. Overall we all had a very pleasant experience and will definitely return in the future. Highly recommend

Generally, a fantastic pub if you’re a local, if you’re out of the area, after awhile you will get welcomed into the public crowd, awesome staff and great landlord :)
