Great coffee and cake. Hubby had a slice of Millionaire Shortbread and our friend and I had the BEST carrot cake 😋😋. Steve and Trudy welcomed us with warmth and huge happy smiles. They offer a varied breakfast/light lunch menu as well as loads of specialty jams & chutney’s to buy. If we could give The Cake House 10 stars we absolutely would. Thank you.

We recently had the pleasure of staying overnight at The Fountaine Inn in Linton-in-Craven, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. We stayed in one of their dog-friendly rooms, which was beautifully appointed, clean, and incredibly comfortable—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The evening meal was exceptional. I enjoyed the belly pork, which was cooked to perfection, while my wife savoured the braised beef, which she said was melt-in-the-mouth delicious. The food was hearty, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. To top it off, I enjoyed a couple of pints of their excellent Hetton Pale Ale, which was a real treat. After a peaceful night’s sleep, we were treated to a fantastic breakfast in the morning—just what we needed to set us up for the day. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us and our four-legged companion feel incredibly welcome. It’s rare to find a place that combines such wonderful food, great beer, comfortable accommodation, and genuine hospitality all in one. Danny from Leeds

We called in one afternoon with no preconceptions and found a free table for two. We were only after hot drinks and cakes, and chose cream teas - sultana scones for me and apricot scones for my wife. They were possibly the best scones we’ve ever had and baked on the premises. Service was efficient and very friendly from the lady owner and waitress. As we enjoyed it so much we called in on a Saturday morning before a three hour drive home after a week long holiday in Kettlewell. We sat at the same table for two and liked the look of the cooked breakfast, so ordered one each. We were served our tea and coffee and then, before our breakfast came, a table for four became free and the same friendly lady suggested we move, so we’d have plenty of space for everything. This was lovely, as we had pots, cups, milk, breakfast plates, toast and all the condiments. The breakfasts were amazing! Top quality bacon (two rashers) and a (very large) ‘butchers’ sausage, perfectly cooked scrambled egg for my wife, two poached eggs for me, along with a very nice hash brown, beans and mushrooms. As a previous reviewer said, this is more of a chef cooking than an average cook churning out food in a café. No idea why people have moaned about unfriendly service, as we found exactly the opposite, and with good humour. Would thoroughly recommend based on our experience.

This is a regular coffee stop for us & is popular with our relatives from further away. The food is always very fresh with a good selection whether you’re just having a coffee & a delicious cake ( can recommend the scones or the apricot flapjack!) or brunch, lunch or afternoon tea! We had a family celebration here a while ago & we were overwhelmed with the efforts the staff went to to make the day special - excellent food & very friendly waiting staff. The staff are well informed about the food on offer & happy to cater for different needs. Our favourite place for a friendly cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate- we’ve tried them all! Only trouble is that lots of other people seem to think so too so get there early!

A proper pub! No frills, just good honest Yorkshire hospitality. Okay, so the bedrooms and decor could do with a full refurb, but so what! Our room was clean and tidy, and the bed frame may have belonged in a museum, but it was very comfortable. Breakfast was made to order and very good. Freshly brewed coffee and plenty of it. And, the dumb waiter in the corner of the dining room, seemed natural in this quirky old building. The staff, and locals, were all friendly and welcoming which added to the warm atmosphere.
