We called in one afternoon with no preconceptions and found a free table for two. We were only after hot drinks and cakes, and chose cream teas - sultana scones for me and apricot scones for my wife. They were possibly the best scones we’ve ever had and baked on the premises. Service was efficient and very friendly from the lady owner and waitress. As we enjoyed it so much we called in on a Saturday morning before a three hour drive home after a week long holiday in Kettlewell. We sat at the same table for two and liked the look of the cooked breakfast, so ordered one each. We were served our tea and coffee and then, before our breakfast came, a table for four became free and the same friendly lady suggested we move, so we’d have plenty of space for everything. This was lovely, as we had pots, cups, milk, breakfast plates, toast and all the condiments. The breakfasts were amazing! Top quality bacon (two rashers) and a (very large) ‘butchers’ sausage, perfectly cooked scrambled egg for my wife, two poached eggs for me, along with a very nice hash brown, beans and mushrooms. As a previous reviewer said, this is more of a chef cooking than an average cook churning out food in a café. No idea why people have moaned about unfriendly service, as we found exactly the opposite, and with good humour. Would thoroughly recommend based on our experience.

As a regular visitor to Grassington we normally stop for coffee in another cafe just up the road. Whilst that venue does nice coffee the food options are a bit limited. My wife had tried Cobblestones herself and suggested we give it a try. Being a bit nippy I didn't fancy sitting out front and the inside was full (only had 4 or 5 tables inside) but we were shown out back where there's a covered outdoor area with a patio heater & blankets for anyone feeling the chill. It felt much cosier here so thought we'd give it a go. Was impressed with the extensive food options but heard someone else asking for a bacon & egg buttie & thought that would hit the spot. Great decision as it was the best bacon & egg buttie I've had in some time! My wife had the breakfast hash which she enjoyed but couldn't finish so I had to help out. Tea & coffee were also up to scratch. Service was friendly, quick & polite so 5/5 there. Will certainly be back next time we're in Grassington!

My friend & myself thought it might be nice to have a mid morning coffee & cake here... Apart from 2 other people in the cafe, it was empty,.. We went to sit down at a table for 4 people & were immediately pounced on & shown to a table in the corner for 2 people... We weren't happy to be squashed into a corner to have a drink etc... The lady told us that should a group of 4 come in, we'd have to move, as she only had 2 tables to accommodate 4 customers.. Or, she would ask other people to join us,.! She went on about the tables so much, that the urge to have the coffee & cake disappeared... We really didn't feel welcome & as a result, we left.... We've went further up to the Retreat cafe, who despite being very busy, had no issues with us sitting at a table for 4 customers,.. Needless to say, that neither of us would return..

We came as a family and sat in the rear courtyard. The courtyard was quaint and beautiful and away from the hassle and bustle on a busy Saturday in Grassington. We were served by a young girl first, who looked like she didn't want to be there and couldn't be any less interested. I asked if there was a children's menu, she said no, but they could always do half positions. Perfect, I asked for 2 half sandwiches for the children knowing they wouldn't eat a full adult sized sandwich. She wrote it down and off she went. A few minutes later, a lady, who I assume was the manager/owner, came storming over asking what we meant by half a sandwich. I explained it was for the children who wouldn't eat a full sandwich. She then asked how they were supposed to make half a sandwich, she became extremely patronising and explained how a sandwich is made and how I wanted the children's sandwiches made. I nearly burst out laughing at one point. This is someone who is, I assume, running a business, and talking to customers in this manner, utter disbelief. I only suggested a child's size sandwich because the young waitress suggested they could do it and I wanted to feed my children, not a big ask. I am not the type of person to ever complain but this was something else. We visit the area very frequently and we will never again be visiting this establishment, being spoken to like a 5 year old is not what I want out of a lunch out thank you 😊

Beautiful cafe on the main square in Grassington. They have plenty of seats inside and also seating areas outside at the front and back. The menu is very comprehensive so something for everyone. The scones are home made on the premises and to die for. So light and flavoursome. The cafe is ideally situated and the numbers of people who visit shows it’s popularity. Can’t wait to go back…

There is quite a lot of choice in Grassington but it looked nice and the tables at the front were busy so assumed there was a reason for this. We went in and were immediately greeted with friendly service. Offered a table in the back covered courtyard and we happily accepted, having first oggled the cakes. I had a flat white and a flapjack and my partner had a latte and a brownie. It was all absolutely delicious! And we are a bit fussy when it comes to these items!! The couple that run the place were chatty and happy and clearly enjoy doing what they do. A lovely find.

After running in Ripon this morning we headed to Grassington for brunch and quickly stumbled across this cafe. This cafe is exceptionally good! We got a beautifully warm welcome this morning from the lady who must own the cafe- she couldn't do enough to help us! We opted for a bacon and mushroom sandwich, both of which were delicious and clearly made with quality ingredients. As we were told that the sultana scones were fresh out of the oven we thought we'd finish with a cream tea. The warm scones were delicious, the best we've ever tasted!. We left with full tummies and next time we want to come back and try the home made sticky toffee pudding. Thanks so much for looking after us Cobblestones- a true asset to Grassington.

We never put negative reviews on Tripadvisor, but this cafe achieved the pinnacle of lazy catering - disinterested staff, unimaginative menu which was poorly executed, such as bacon sandwich with lots of fat. Our own fault entirely, as we should have left before ordering.

We used to come here a lot as a family and me and my wife once a week or so, but the place has changed hands again and the menu has been altered, not to the good. Yes, there is one special a day, which is a proper main course, but the actual menu is now restricted to just about sandwiches and cakes only. The selection is very small. The coffee is still the best in Grassington, but we really miss the 5 or 6 main courses they used to do, with choice of salad, chips etc. It has always been a very small cafe with few squashed tables, and the new arrangement means more legroom but only a total of 5 tables inside. Prices seem to have crept up also. though no doubt during the tourist season they will still do well; however, locals like us will probably go elsewhere.

Maybe we should have been advised of this at the time of ordering as we were already hungry after a long walk.My friend & I ordered pies with broccoli. When they arrived they were tasty but clearly been heated in a microwave as the pastry was soggy,(couldn't they have been put in the oven at time of ordering?) & the broccoli was on the yellow side. The two butties were fine. We didn't complain as they two staff were friendly & apologetic. The coffee was the best we have tasted for a long while. So not all bad but just a thought for the cafe should staff not turn up for a shift another time.

Great for cyclists and walkers who may wish to sit ourside at the back, but indoors is nicer for comfort. Very good scones.

If you're hungry, walk past this place! I ordered a sandwich which comes with chips and salad and at £6.00 sounds like good value for money. I love homemade chips and having seen some leftovers on another table was looking forward to them, especially as the waitress informed me they were twice-cooked. Brilliant. However when my plate arrived I nearly said "Is that it?" The sandwich was a very small bap (gluten free) and the chips (also very small portion) were inconsistently cut; some were very small and skinny whilst others were a bit larger, but unfortunately the larger ones were undercooked. They were defintely NOT twice cooked, and didn't resemble the leftover chips from the next table in any way, shape or form! Not sure what's going on, but I was still quite hungry after finishing the meal.

Set in centre of Grassington, ideal location, the cafe offers a wide range of choices, including breakfasts, lunches - or simply tea/coffee and cake. Food includes plenty of choices for dietary needs - gluten free, vegetarian etc. Portions are generous and freshly made. Seats available both inside and outside (back and front). Service is very friendly and welcoming. Suitable for all ages. Well worth a visit.

Arrived just as they were getting ready to close down the kitchen and the lovely staff kindly turned back on the stove, ordered the Yorkshire pudding wrap and oh my gosh what a treat - amazing tender pulled beef, veg and potato in a Yorkshire pudding served with sublime homemade chips - my poor dogs didnt get a look in which was fine as the staff kindly brought them out chicken breast pieces - the coffee was absolutely delicious and the setting is so pretty - theres outdoor seating in the front and back so you can choose sun spots and dogs are welcome inside too - their cake selection looked wonderful- I can't wait to pass again

Totally wowed by the welcome we and our dog were given at this small, friendly cafe'. Our dog was even given 2 slices of chicken as a snack (after OKing it with us). Dog owners: go to this place and feel really welcome!

Found this little cafe after chasing down the coach tour that my mother in law was booked on. Had a couple of hours to spend in Grassington. We called at Cobblestones. Party of four plus two large dogs.

After trying to decide where to eat we chose this place. We got a lovely welcome and my husband had the Yorkshire pudding wrap. It was delicious with lots of steak inside plus vegetables. It came with wedges and a jug of gravy. He loved it. I had baked pot cheese beans all nicely served in ramekin dishes. That was delicious too. The cook was very pleasant and we complimented her on her dishes. Glad we chose this cafe.

Having visited many times in the past and thoroughly enjoyed, we were looking forward to savouring the quality of the fare offered Sadly having realised that the cafe has changed hands the quality of the food and particular the friendless has gone down hill rapidly. Being courteous, friendly and approachable is a vital customer service skill no matter who you are speaking to .... as overhead a very unpleasant and rude discourse. Grassington has a huge offering of great establishments with excellent food and service so will be off to pastures new !

Gorgeous little cafe with super friendly staff. I ordered a GF toastie and the owner came to check whether it was an intolerance or an allergy, which I really appreciated! The food was absolutely delicious and my friend and I felt so comfortable. Highly recommend!

We've visited many times and chosen from the breakfast menu which has always been first class. However today I decided to choose a punjabi lunch special which was brown lentil Dahl yogurt, salad and freshly made chapati, oh my word it was first class. Well worth the 36 mile round trip. The owner & waitress are lovely, so friendly and helpful and seem very genuine that you enjoy your visit. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Excellent, efficient and attentive service. Food was fresh and plentiful. I would heartily recommend. We hadn't booked, just found it by chance - will go back and have already spread the good word to others !

My first visit to this pub and what a change from many of Skiptons tourist orintated watering holes a true"local". Excellent choice of cask beers and some quickfire crac with the barman. I'll be in again.
