Fish and chips on a Friday night. We were staying at crowtrees campsite, so thought we would give it a go. Lovely thick pieces of haddock, chips were cooked perfectly and tasted fantastic. Kids had sausages and enjoyed them, we all tried the curry sauce too. Value for money and portions were good too.

The Gardeners Arms is situated on Brown Lees Road in a housing estate. There is no car park but plenty of street parking directly outside the pub. It has a large beer garden and children's play area. The pub was clean, warm and well presented. There are separate rooms with one having a pool table. There was only one real ale on offer Robinson's Unicorn but there was a choice of draft lagers. The food menu was varied and the food was cooked and presented to a very high standard. The service was good as was the value for money. The staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgable. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Fantastic location but a shame about the food. We were 5 hungry cyclists. We were told they were running down stocks of food because there was a function the next day. There was one vegetable pastie, one vegan roll and both disgusting as microwaved. I had the last scone which was stale. This left others with a piece of cake and a bag of crisps. Such a shame as I for one will not be eating there again!

Called 4th January 2020 ordered pot of tea for 2 and two leek and potato soup as shown on special board. Pot of tea came may I say only half full, asked for it to be topped up, was warm not boiling. flavourless tea . Waited over 30 mins plus for soup to arrive looked around cafe all customers had food or drink in front of them. When soup arrived small bowls only half full, we expected a nice homemade soup with maybe chunks of potato and leek, instead of possible a cheap tinned version with no flavour, the price of £4.00 each did nicked four small slices of French bread and butter. Seating very poor and uncomfortable . I could see cleanliness was an issue throughout. Really wish I had not called into the coffee corner cafe, as there are plenty of other cafes in leek
