My mum is a regular customer here and the food, service and atmosphere is exceptional. She booked the café for her 90th birthday get together with a group of friends. Her description of what an absolutely incredible time she had has made my heart sing! Ashley, the owner, went all out to make this an occasion to remember. Unfortunately none of the elderly ladies took photos but the room was decorated with a banner and balloons, the food selection and quality was fabulous.. mum could not believe the effort that Ashley went to; he even presented her with a cake.. that she took home as all were too full to eat it. Thank you so much for making this such a joyous occasion for mum. We have a massive family get together next weekend, we're going to have to make it special to compete! Eek!

Service/staff - Good Quantity - Good Quality Excellent Price - Good We found the Polenta with camponata/vegan feta, was delicious/plentiful - but needed a bit more feta/something creamy to counteract the richness of the camponata. The fish burgers were really good and best of all the Rosemary fries. Good selection of cakes. Only negative, didn't have disabled toilet facilities of any kind. Disappointing. Can get 'noisy' when full.

This is the ideal place to have a cup of coffee when out shopping. The main table is often taken by ladies who sew but there are other tables available and the atmosphere is very friendly

Everytime I come back to my birthplace, I have to at least have a decent pasty before I return home. And Nelly’s is a stopping point on the way back. I have tried many pastys over the years and while there are other (few) respectable ones, Nelly’s are the most authentic (proper job). No flaky pastry, proper pasty pastry (a dying skill) and full of the finest chuck steak, turnips (swede), potatoes & onions and plenty of salt’n’pepper seasoning. My Gran would have complimented this pasty. Shame I only bought 10 back with me. They barely made the journey back, devoured by my Son and I on the long 13hr trip back home. Looking forward to our next trip back.

Such a warm inviting pub. The atmosphere here is incredible, such lovely attentive staff that go to extreme lengths to make your visit amazing. The Sunday roast is to die for delicious meat and a nice choice of veggies. Have been a handful of times and the entertainment is well enjoyed under their beautiful outside space. You will not be disappointed!

Probably the worst pub food I’ve ever eaten in my life, and I’ve had a few! Apparently, the chef had to leave at short notice, which should have sounded alarm bells, but, being typically British, we didn’t want to get up and leave having already said we wanted food! The lady behind the bar was a customer, who had only popped in for a drink, but she had a streaming cold, literally dripping from her nose, and we didn’t see her washing her hands once! We ordered two lasagnas and two cottage pies, which were probably microwave heated Tesco value meals, with tinned peas and cold chips! The only positive being, that we ended up laughing at just how terrible this experience was! In comparison, we ate at The Globe on our first night in Lostwithiel, then at Sunny Spice (Indian) the following night, both being delicious in comparison…

Great little venue for light lunch and a beer! Mainly outdoor seating at present, but plenty of umbrellas and indoor area for shade or keeping dry. Easy access from water using hire boats, canoes etc for visitors - worth a visit, but don’t expect ‘fine dining’ choices - good basic stuff! Rob and Sue + staff very welcoming. Lots of boat activity from dinghies to small cargo ships to watch.

Great greeting, led to lovely seats to wait and wait and wait. No, they were not busy. The waitress who presumably was allocated to our area took three customers ahead of us who came in after. The last straw was when she looked at us then went and leaned on the counter before chatting to another customer. It was obvious we had not been attended to, our menus were clearly visible on the tables, they were removed when orders were taken. What should have been a lovely treat, prices were high, became a disappointing waste of time. We walked out. There are many tea shops around, better value and with fab friendly service
