My mum is a regular customer here and the food, service and atmosphere is exceptional. She booked the café for her 90th birthday get together with a group of friends. Her description of what an absolutely incredible time she had has made my heart sing! Ashley, the owner, went all out to make this an occasion to remember. Unfortunately none of the elderly ladies took photos but the room was decorated with a banner and balloons, the food selection and quality was fabulous.. mum could not believe the effort that Ashley went to; he even presented her with a cake.. that she took home as all were too full to eat it. Thank you so much for making this such a joyous occasion for mum. We have a massive family get together next weekend, we're going to have to make it special to compete! Eek!

Popped in for a little lunch and ended up with a fantastic ham, cheese tomato sandwich. Loaded with delishious cheese and ham, lettuce, and mustard. And great coffee as always 👌🥪

Delicious sandwiches and coffees. Unfortunately we weren't told that toasted sandwiches cost 60p extra when ordering! I know fuel costs are increasing, but an extra £1.20 for 2 sandwiches to be toasted is a complete rip off! We are local and not on holiday

This is both a show and cafe. There are a couple of tables on a deck outside and to the side of the cafe. There is quite a limited menu but it is fine if you want a drink and a cake. We ordered inside and our food and drinks were served at table. A pleasant place for tea if there is a table free. Service was friendly.

An interesting combination of gifts and cafe. Coffee was excellent and the staff very helpful. We returned several times during our week's stay.

We found this little cafe by accident and since there was a table outside we dived in for a bit of lunch. Very good find - we shared a platter of Cornish cheeses, cooked meats and mackerel pate with lovely toasted herby bread. All scrumptious!!

Popped in here after visiting Restormel Castle. Nice cup off coffee and friendly service. As you face the shop we parked to the right in front of the river which is free to park.

Lovely small light cafe with a super friendly happy owner What a find....nice seat in the window watch the world go by while the owner makes a fantastic sandwich and a brew Ciabatta warmed through and then cooled giving it a really nice soft texture, then stacked with tuna, sweetcorn and mayo..WOWZER so tasty Definitely make a bee line for this place, superb service and great eats

We had a lovely lunch, the food was freshly prepared and very tasty and was accompanied by excellent coffee. Friendly service from Ashley, we sat outside and enjoyed the sunshine. A perfect summer lunch.

Friendly welcome from Ashley when my father and I arrived. Table service. Both of us decided on the brie and chutney toasted ciabatta, followed by a great coffee. A lovely visit once again. Looking forward to our next visit. See you soon

Visited twice recently. Friendly and chatty man in charge. Nothing too much trouble. Water for the dog! Good choice of cakes and coffee delicious. Excellent value for money. Will try lunch next time.

Enjoyed a brilliant 3 course vegitarian mexican meal at White Light this evening. It was so good I did not stop to take a picture. Food was cooked to an excellent standard, also provided chicken fried rice for my friend. Service from Ash and Tracey was very good as allways. Hoping the evening opening on a Wednesday will become a regular thing.

I have had the pleasure of eating delicious cake and a bacon sandwich (not at the same time!) and drinking quality coffee in this well-established and well run quirky cafe on regular occasions. The owner, Ashley, and his staff have always been very attentive and very friendly towards their customers, making a visit here a great experience. The shop area also stocks some wonderful little treasures and some amazing artwork as well, so spending time here could not only satisfy your tastebuds but also you might find a special gift too. Long may this establishment continue!

I always get my coffee from here when valuing for Jefferys Auctions in this lovely Cornish town. Recently, Ashley prepared a superb brie & chutney roll with a salad garnish drizzled with dressing as a lunchtime treat. I have no hesitation in recommending the shop & café.

I'd seen the Ginger Cheesecake on social media and as I'm local made a mental note to visit the next day. I was lucky there was some available and it was probably the best cheesecake in the world. (Apologies to Carlsberg!) The cafe staff are always welcoming and all the cakes are fresh, my next favourite it the syrupy flapjack that you have to eat with your fingers! yummy

This is one of the nicest, friendly, quirky cafes in town. Ashley makes you so welcome. The coffee and walnut cake was one of the best Ive ever had. Fantastic coffee too.He has an incredible array of gifts and some awesome jewels and stones made into jewellery.If you visit Lostwithiel this place is a definite for a chilled and relaxed stop!! Make sure you don't miss out on this experience ❤☕❤

This is a very friendly cafe i isit here uite often the coffee is the best in town they serve a variety of home made cakes daily and their menu has plenty of choice it is all prepared by the owner who makes sure everyone is happy with the food and service would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the town you won't be disappointed

Great coffee, best we've had during our week in Cornwall. Very friendly staff and a treat for the dog!

We found this place by chance when out walking the dogs. Popped in for coffee and cake and loved it so much we went almost every day of our holiday. The owner, Ash, makes fabulous cakes, we couldn't resist them and the coffee was perfect. He made us very welcome along with our poodles and gave us lots of tips for visiting the surrounding area, which were really helpful. Can't wait to go back soon!

We visited the Antique Centre at Lostwithiel and wandered about by the river to enjoy the walks and the picturesque setting.

Visited here while looking around the town, myself being new to the area... Loved my take away treat of fresh scones with jam and fresh clotted cream, with a nice cup of tea! :-)

Just sat here in this small but welcoming cafe/giftshop. Came in for a coffee and got a great coffee. A good strength and smooth too. Perfetto!

Limited space, friendly owner, excellent well filled sandwiches and baguetts. Almost a meal in themselves. Tea refills offered. Will call again

Ashley keeps on surprising me. So few people (even residents) realise that he serves food let alone just how good and fresh his food is. We picked a party box of dips;beautiful presentation and ideal for parties, picnics or indeed anytime.All made on-site!

We were so impressed with White Light - where we stopped for lunch. Sat outside and enjoyed our coffee and sandwiches. Very well prepared - came with a lovely salad. Great service - friendly. Well recommended.

As a local, I've visited this shop many times and always found something new, different and the food is scrumptious! All cakes and pastries are homemade and very tempting indeed. Highly recommend a visit and I just cannot walk past the window without a word with Ashley the owner, who is very knowledgeable about the semi precious stones he sells. There is also a table outside for wheelchair users.

We had lunch here today was very tasty and presented tastefully one of the best Chai Lattes I have tasted and great value for money the owner Ashley is very welcoming and attentive he has great customer skills will definitely return

Think my title is self explanatory and indicative of what we thought on our visit. We also had freshly made sandwiches of with a good amount of filling and a decent portion of a very tasty side salad. The establishment is not very large, so if you are in Lostwithiel and they have a table free; grab it!

Had a small get together for our Mum's 50th Birthday at White Light and had a lovely evening. The food was delicious along with the specially made carrot cake :) the decorations were a nice touch too, along with brilliant service. Perfect for a special occasion, would definitely recommend!!

Nice cozy little place. The coffee is excellent and my daughter had a fantastic smoothie. The gentleman running the cafe was very friendly and chatty. We also bought a couple of bits from the shop. We will certainly visit again when we next pass Lostwithiel.

A quaint cafe in the lovely town of Lostwithiel. I visited a couple of times. The first time I ordered a feta, bean and quinoa salad flavoured with fresh lime, ginger and chili. Yum! My daughter had a huge egg mayo sandwich washed down with a juice. I thoroughly enjoyed my three mint green tea served in a beautiful glass teapot. The second time was a takeaway of mint tea and a banana milkshake to drink by the beautiful riverside. The best part, along with the great fresh food, was the service. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel that our satisfaction was paramount. Can't beat that! Reasonably priced too.

This little cafe/gift shop is beautiful. Food very good and very reasonable. Try the flavoured Lavassa coffee with cream FAB! Food is freshly prepared and plentiful. Worth going to Lostwithiel for. Loved the chidrens milkshake served in a little milk bottle with straw and small dish of sweeties. Nice little treat for the little ones. ASHLEY is great host very friendly and pofessional. Will be back!

Lovely fresh food. Professional service from pofessional chef who does not pretend to know what he is doing. Has made a great little place to visit. Nice shop too.

Been in here many times and the owner Ashley is very helpful and informative. He recently made me a ring I wanted and the price was so low I thought he'd made a mistake.
