Lovely brunch. There is an attention to every detail here, with a menu that is quite innovative. Generous portions and super friendly/helpful hosts. Recommend giving it a try.

Great little place with lovely staff. The toasties were delicious and there was a wide selection along with many other choices for a light lunch.

Quirky bistro, more pub like than wine bar. Unusual decor. Generous food portions, reasonable prices, plus attentive and helpful service. Could feel the family run influence.

Not our first visit but we were disappointed with the lunch this time round. I ordered the tuna melt which was served with salad and coleslaw and really enjoyed it, the other members of the party opted for the caesar salad with chicken and bacon. As the menu stated it was a Caesar salad that’s what they expected to receive however when it came it bore no resemblance to a caesar salad instead of romaine lettuce it was just a bowl of mixed salad leaves and normal salad items along with croutons and cheese unfortunately the chicken was also on the tough side. It’s very misleading when something is advertised wrongly the menu should class it as a mixed salad and list the accompaniments that come with it.

A very friendly welcome, and shown to our table. Waitress was polite and gave us plenty of time as my children are indecisive. Ordered our food which came out really hot and super delicious. They also made my children feel really welcome as they chatted to them to check their food was good. Milkshakes were popular. Really great service and happy staff. Would use again and again. Thank you.

Ignore the previous review. It clearly states on their website that they are closed on a Sunday and so what, maybe people actually like to have a weekend day off to themselves? Go visit them on a day they actually state that they are open before giving them a poor review?! I popped in today. First time I have been. Had the best quiche I have ever tasted. My Mum had a lovely sausage roll. Generous portion sizes. Coffee and tea were good. Lovely service. We'll be back for sure. Afternoon Tea came out whilst we were there and looked bloody delish!

My wife and I visited the Powell Pub yesterday again we have moved to the area in late November and on every visit to the Powell it’s been truly amazing the Staff are always very friendly and very helpful the range of Beer’s and wine are really good the menu is Great we have now eaten there in a couple of occasions and we were both very happy with our meals . The Powell is the True meaning of a really well run pub / restaurant I would highly recommend

Booked a table for Sunday lunch (7th July) We arrived 10 mins before our booking only to find it was closed? There were also a number of people arriving who had booked a table and others arriving as hoc. There were 2 people inside in the kitchen area, who at first totalling ignored us and then when we knocked on the door and got the lady’s attention, only to have her shake her head at us? She didn’t answer the door. There was no sign on the doors to explain why it was closed and they didn’t answer numerous phone calls!! Terrible way to operate a restaurant. They’ve lost our custom but we gained a lovely place around the corner, Lavan, where we will visit in the future. Get your act together Coal Rooms. What are you running - shambles!!
