Visited this pub and stayed about 2 years ago, lovely rooms, great pub, cosy & inviting, great atmosphere and food. Visited pub this Easter weekend, well I was shocked! I assume changed hands as now run down and empty considering 8.30pm on Saturday evening. Not sure what it's meant to be but certainly didn't feel like a pub, more like a cross between a village hall and an Indian restaurant when you look at furniture. Place full of tables set for diners with mismatch metal chairs garden furniture and high back chairs from a restaurant, no comfortable sitting at all. Felt awkward sitting there for the 1 drink we had and they were already clearing bar to close for the night. Cold and clinical lighting and I won't mention the toilets! Disappointed visit and sad that the pub has lost its charm. Won't be visiting again plenty of other lovely pubs just a few 100 yards away.

We were here on the 8th January for a wedding reception but omg what a shambles they were very unorganised and the place was cold they gave people blankets to cover themselves up plus my husband who is in a wheelchair and son went for a smoke before dinner but got stuck in the lift eventually after 55 mins they got out after phoning fire brigade because there couldn’t get a lift engineer out apparently there insurance ran out and they didn’t renew it so after they got out they were so stressed we ended up just going home so our night was wasted never even got to get our meal

Found The Chambers by accident and were so impressed initially by the decor and later by the food. The lunch menu was limited but the vegie options according to my partner were excellent. I had the fishcake as a starter and it was A1. This is our new favourite place in Portsmouth/Southsea and we will happily return again soon.

We spent Mothers Day at Gunwharf Quays and, overall, it was a lovely day. The one thing that let it down was a trip to the Parade Tea Rooms. Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely little place, and the decor is very nice. The other appealing thing is that it's slightly off the beaten track, being tucked away in the corner at Vernon Gate, a stone's throw from the Haribo and Cadbury's outlets. On the flip side, the service was nothing short of appalling. We didn't exactly get the warmest of welcomes. It was close to the end of service, and the hovering staff looked somewhat inconvenienced by our arrival. A casually-dressed member of staff appeared at the serving hatch, and begrudgingly handed us some menus. This same member of staff decided it would be a good idea to refuse to sell my partner a slice of chocolate cake, even though it sat proudly in their display cabinet waiting to be purchased by the incoming patrons. Apparently, the said chocolate cake was for the following day's service, and clearly it was a major inconvenience for him to serve my partner a slice of this cake. No decent explanation was offered. (If it wasn't for sale, perhaps it shouldn't have been taken out of its wrapper and placed in the display cabinet until after the doors had closed.) Other unwitting customers also entered the establishment and promptly left after being told the same thing about the visually appealing cakes that were on display ... ... which is what we should have done of course, but for some reason we ended up staying for refreshments despite Mr Casual's appalling attitude. No problem with the drinks and also the spicy fries, which were delicious I have to say, but the service was extremely disappointing, particularly since it was Mothers Day, and my partner deserved much better.

I was out and about with my camera trying to make some good photographs, when I happened across The Coffee Cabin on Southsea common. The gentleman who served me was pleasant and made me a nice coffee. There are bench tables you can sit at to enjoy whatever you’ve purchased. The place is dog friendly. They also run a loyalty scheme where you get a free drink after purchasing a specified number of drinks. I will be returning. Some of my reviews may seem unforgiving but I come from a time when everything was not “Awesome” and “near enough was not good enough”. So, if I say something is “Excellent” that is because it is somewhere better than most others… and well worth considering visiting. I hope this review was of help, please consider following my travels & reviews in the autumn of my life.

Cute cafe with loads of options. Friendly staff. Tasty breakfast rolls and coffee. Outside seating area but we were offered a table above the arcade. Slightly on the dearer side of options along the seafront. But a good size portion.

We have eaten in here a few times and love it. Not sure if it has changed hands but what a different experience. Firstly it was like battersea dogs home,we have no problem with dogs at all but when they are barking very loudly the owners should be asked to deal with it. secondly, when our meals came up wrong it was shocking how they made us feel like it was our fault , nobody would take ownership so customer service went out of the window and the handling of it was grim. Food was ok ish once sorted. Certainly won't go back for a long time.

Went back to this Casino after 3 years , been a member for 40 + years for most of those years we ate in the restaurant every week , will never go back , not one table in restaurant had a table cloth , Knives & forks were put down on one end of table wrapped in paper napkins, service was slow and anything any good on the menu that was not a burger in a bun was not available , With no dress code the Grosvenor Casinos appear now to cater for students , long gone are the days of silver service , still I suppose it is easier to relieve students of their grant money.

Their famous bacon baps consist of boiled fatty bacon with white residue on the bacon. Does not look like the picture on the shop window. Disgraceful.

We ordered two Jacket Potatoes and prawns and onefish and chips. The jacket pototoes were overcoooked and blackskins. The fish and was atrocious it had obviously been battered and fries and then re-heated. We should have complained to get a refund, but we had to catch our train. We generally never complain, but the food was rubbish. Will not be eating there ever again
