Grosvenor Casino in Portsmouth

Went back to this Casino after 3 years , been a member for 40 + years for most of those years we ate in the restaurant every week , will never go back , not one table in restaurant had a table cloth , Knives & forks were put down on one end of table wrapped in paper napkins, service was slow and anything any good on the menu that was not a burger in a bun was not available , With no dress code the Grosvenor Casinos appear now to cater for students , long gone are the days of silver service , still I suppose it is easier to relieve students of their grant money.

Been here several times over the years and always thought the restaurant food was basic and ok. Staff were always ok too, not the friendliest of Grosvenor's! BUT this visit was like a different place altogether. Staff member on reception excellent, friendly, chatty but remained professional. Bar staff friendly and happy. Our waiter was Marik, cant give him enough praise. From start to finish and even giving feedback on the food when i was indecisive, I cant thank him enough for a great evening. A great asset to your casino. Food was excellent, thanks to the chef on Monday night! All the best, see you again soon.

Night out to celebrate our anniversary and disappointed with lack of staff walking around and getting drinks when you’re sat at a table. Even asked the croupier if they could find us someone to get drinks but they spoke to another member of staff and between them neither could be bothered to help. I’m sure the management would encourage waiting staff to be more visible to put more money in the tills.

Spending several hours in a casino can be expensive. But the Grosvenor Southampton experience was value for money on 10th August compared to other casinos. The staff were attentive and supportive. The food and drinks were cost competitive for a casino. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Well done to all the team.

What can I say, you are all absolute legends, Lewis and Lewis, or twiddle dee and tweddle dur! Love you guys always on hand for anything that is needed, Elle, Sianna, Victoria, Alexandria, Suzanne and little miss Yazoo! "You know who you are" always brighten my night everytime I come in, even the waiting staff remembering my drink and always making sure I am topped up on my coffee, and fletcher with his weird mathematic always have me laughing, you are all legends in my eyes keep rocking it, special shout out to darren, you completely bossed the table tonight, handle like a pro, calm and cool under pressure!. After the work Christmas party, a group of us decided to go to the casino for some drinks and a few games of roulette. Upon arrival, I was informed that I have been banned from the casino for life. As the only black person in the group, I was embarrassed and ashamed but then I had to proceed to explain to all my colleagues and my manager that I had been banned for suspected drug dealing, and somehow without any evidence or a search that the casino had chosen to ban me for life. I was not and have never been in any casino with drugs, yet my appeal has fallen on deaf ears. Avoid this place!!!

It's not what it was. The atmosphere is ok and the staff were ok too - nothing special - but the prices have shot up massively. Must be desperate to make some money after lockdown, charging people £1.50 for a glass of water? Glass of wine £6.70? Not much choice of drinks. Poker room cram packed with a massive waiting list but loads of empty casino games tables outside, and the minimum buy in is now x5 what it was? Also they give you cash when cashing your chips. Would be better to have it put back on card as I don't particularly like walking around with a load of cash after I've had a few drinks! Disappointing evening overall as we didn't even get to play anything.

Never felt so unwelcome in all the Grosvenors I've visited, Regimental rules re. Covid. compared to many other G's. Must sit to put bets on? Why? Won't take roulette vouchers at table? No one at tables but must sit in waiting area first? Didn't see any cleaning? No draught beer? Will never visit again!Shameful. I assume the managers previous job was a parking warden. 😈

Ruined by attitude of bar staff. We came specifically to visit on the first day open after lockdown, Saturday 15th August. Arrived around 3pm. Me and partner sat at 1 machine playing for around an hour before being approached by a member of bar staff saying we were not allowed to sit together at 1 machine. I said we were from the same household. She repeated what she said. I said we have been sat here playing for an hour and been served drinks by other staff who had not mentioned this. We had numerous staff walk past in this hour as it wasn’t busy. . She said ‘well I’m telling you now you’re not allowed’ How about some signage with the new rules? Or making sure it’s clear or that other staff follow this procedure too. You’ve had 6 months to get it right whilst you were closed. We swiftly withdrew our money from the machine and left. This is the same member of staff that when we first arrived I approached the bar within a few feet , ( to ask where the cash machine was ) and got rudely told I wouldn’t get served at the bar. I replied ‘ I don’t want to be served. I’d like to know where the cash point is’ before being rudely pointed to an area. Perhaps let your paying customers speak before having a go at them and making yourself look a bit of a fool. On the way out I heard another member of staff behind the bar telling a poor guy that had gone to the bar ‘get away you are not allowed at the bar’. Manners cost nothing and considering this was your first day open after approx 6 months closed you clearly have lost any customer service skills you may have had. Reported to the manager as we left.

Lovely menu with a good selection of dishes. The restuarant was able to cater a party of 10 on one table which was lovely and staff very helpful and polite.

Food tastes like it's been blitzed in the microwave. Bar service is very slow and staff look very tired...

A serious drop in standards for the area, service is good, food ok. But it feels like the company is not taking itself seriously anymore.

They need to train there staff on cocktails ,,I,E, every time u asked for cocktail they have to take a menu around the side to see wat ingredients r in them ... Last time I was here I had to advise a member of bar staff ""TAKE THE FOIL OFF THE WINE BOTTLE BEFORE U TRY AND CORK THE BOTTLE ,"""" ..... Also plastic martini glasses ... Come on plases at £8 a drink real glasses please ...

Grosvenor casino at gunwarf.quays has gone down hill ,we dont visit like we used to the food is awful, so we eat before we go now and our visit today sunday 2nd june 19 we were there over an hour nobody to serve drinks ,4 times we asked and was told oh I will find someone for you it was boiling hot in there, I felt quite ill with the heat (no aircon) the staff there looked like they would rather be somewhere else ...not a good experience...

I have been here a few times and unfortunately on this visit I was sadly disappointed in two ways. The first thing I noticed is that the price of drinks has increased quite a bit, they were very nearly what I would expect pay in London! My bigger disappointment was over the food. Our party of four ordered food whilst we were gambling. We ordered two curries, one meat pie and one fillet steak. I do not know if the dishes had been sitting on the side awaiting someone to bring them out BUT the curries and Pie were only lukewarm. I had ordered the fillet steak and I attacked the chips which were just about warm, then onto the steak. I cut into it and it was actually cold. I called the server back and complained about this and he said he would get me another steak. This he did and it the whole dish was hot, however by the time I received my meal the others had finished. The others chose not to complain as they were hungry and could not wait to eat. This is not what I expect from this casino, so really disappointed overall. The gambling tables were in action throughout and the staff were friendly and willing to help people using them. The blackjack staff assisted me as I was unsure of what the 3X was.

Always an enjoyable end to a evening out. Friendly atmosphere and staff with a decent selection of seats, tables and drinks. Although it can occasionally be quite busy depending on the night

Been to a few Grosvenor casinos and this one seemed a little small, unable to get on any of the machines as they were being used or reserved, the restaurant has only a few tables and these are rammed into a tight space.

If you like a gamble all good quick sign up lots to choose from free parking although does get a bit noisy after the clubs and bars shut in the early hours

i whent there by myself on a sunday afternoon its was dark and dull lighting conidering its was around 1ish i i asked the bartender for a coffie and she didnt have a good customer service skills because she just past me the coffie on the bar without no smile or speech. after that i sat down on the electronics screens most of them do not work when you try to select what nu,ber what screen you have to press it mutible times and i instantly lost my money due to that reason i felt uneasy and not willing to play any longer i feel that its is very dated and not a good atmopshere where you can enjoy yourself

Popped in here for. Quick drink before heading home. Everyone had their membership cards except me but wasn’t a problem as the staff were very helpful.

Después de una revisión previa del restaurante que clasifiqué como 1 estrella, ahora puedo decir después de una visita reciente, qué mejora masiva.

Visitamos aquí una vez al mes, algunas veces dos veces con solo unos pocos amigos 2 o 3. Mientras jugamos en las mesas de ruleta, hemos notado en un par de ocasiones que al cobrar nuestras ganancias nos han pagado mal, así que en nuestra última visita nos aseguramos de contar el valor de las fichas. Cuando entregamos nuestras fichas, se las arrebató y nuestras ganancias se pagaron en 50, esta es la tercera vez que esto sucede. Lo cuestionamos y exigimos ver al gerente que dijo que había mirado la CCTV, por supuesto que habían guardado las fichas para que no pudiéramos hacer que las contaran. El hombre en la cola detrás de nosotros dijo que siempre lo están haciendo pagando.

Great Newish Casino in the heart of Gunwarf with a great restaurant they even laid on some birthday balloons for the wife Steaks were delicious

Llegué aquí para un cumpleaños sorpresa organizado por mi compañero en el 30 por persona por 3 platos a 5 bonos de juego y matrícula en mesas, etc. Bueno, dónde debo empezar ? ? Llegamos y fuimos al bar donde nos dijeron que alguien estaría con nosotros en breve y nos dieron una bebida 20 minutos después mi compañero tuvo que ir a averiguar qué estaba pasando, finalmente encontró a alguien que dijo que cuando reservamos por teléfono debería haberse preguntado qué estábamos comiendo. No nos preguntaron. Bien, entonces, ¿dónde están los menús que ordenaremos ahora? Luego, después de otros 20 minutos, nos dijeron que podíamos pedir lo que quisiéramos de cualquier menú. Pedimos filetes. Después de otros 20 minutos, nos dijeron que no deberíamos haber dicho que podemos pedir nada y tuvimos que pedir otra vez. I am remembering the days when the casino treated customers to music ,buffets and lots more now it's all about taking your money. Not a great place anymore no atmosphere no bands no nothing

Came in on a Sunday for a quick lunch food was ok, I had a steak ciabatta it was ok but needed a bit more flavour (just some seasoning on the steak would have done it) service at the bar was a bit slow to get another drink

Came here as I had been here before for lunch and it was so nice I even ordered the same thing . I got the harissa chicken again and was a bit of a let down . The flat bread was so hard to cut and I hardly had any chicken. A lot of salad which isn’t to bad but that can be too much sometimes especially when there’s not a lot of meat to cover it .Plus side was I won money that payed for my meal so no win no lose lunch . Just disappointed as this is one of my fav lunches

The furniture and carpets in this place are extremely worn out! The toilets need repairing. All the money this place makes from food, drink and gambling, you would think they would invest in the basic infrastructure? Seriously lets the company down!

Me and my friend decided to have a cheeky gamble before lunch. After looking at the menu we decided to eat lunch here as well. Prices seemed fine and the food was nice . Obviously just control your game spending otherwise your pay for one hell of an expensive lunch . Had good time anyway plus the football was on and will be returning for the food again .

You need to sign up to be a member. I went in here for a drink with friends, and tried my luck at one of the tables. It was fun. Adult only.

If your staying in the Holiday Inn you get a £10 voucher to use here and have to match it. Got 25p 50p roulette tables so can have a good few hours here without spending loads. Nice friendly people.

On a cold and wet weekday, the numbers were greatly reduced. Helpful bar staff and wandering waitress. Only a few tables were active, but we didn't need to queue for a slot machine. A good night out.

This is a members Club, so you need to join to be able to enter. friendly atmosphere and lovely food in the restaurant

This casino is the only one we have left in Portsmouth and Southsea now.Food is always very good value for money, and soft drinks and tea and coffee are free.If you limit your gambling money or are lucky , I think you can have a really good night out relatively cheap.

Would not recommend. I ordered scallops - there were 3 small scallops on the plate, very little salad and no dressing. The steak was tough a few chips and no vegetables apart from a small amount of salad on the plate. The highlight of the evening was the cake which we provided.

Visited a few weeks ago. Inexperienced Croupiers did not place my bets in time. Made mistakes with a number of my bets. I challenged one of the bets with great difficulty from the site manager. Due to humiliation and being shouted at I decided not to challenge any of the other mistakes that were made. 3 Kings on Blackjack only 90/1 PAYOUT should be 270/1. Overall Grosvenor Casino is a great place for entertainment but Gunwharf Quays is NOT! Furthermore I attempted to complaint over the telephone and email every few days the goals post are changed as to who and when the complaint will be resolved. If I do not get a resolution with 24 hours then I will look to take this two notches further and will be complaining to the gambling commission and subsequently will be posting similar things on various different websites so that the public are aware.

I had a great first experience here on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy and the staff were very friendly. Food and drink was a reasonable cost too. I'm sure this place is very lively on Fridays and Saturdays!There were only two downsides. Firstly, the minimum bet on the only roulette table open I felt was quite high for a beginner. Secondly, I was told that there were no baccarat tables which was a shame as I wanted to try it out.Despite the downsides, I will return in the near future as I'm sure my next trip here will be equally or more enjoyable.

Went here the first visit in about 6 years.We were greeted by a very helpful member of staff who explained as we had not been recently we would have to rejoin but he made the process very easy and quick.Went up into main area drinks and food very reasonable and service good.The only downfall the whole upstairs area smelt of dampness and the carpets had seen better days appreciate it's busy but either get a harder wearing carpet or don't bother as the way it is let's it down.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon/evening, casino was busy but not packed to start with but soon became packed. There was a big boxing match on TV that evening and so slowly the place filled up with people clearly just wanting to watch the fight and this meant that the bar area became packed. The place is ok, but generally just a bit miserable and low quality. I won’t go back here.

Having never been to a Casino in the UK - this was a first for some of us. We loved it. Croupiers were friendly on the whole and helped us with any questions. A bottle of wine was £14! It felt safe and friendly. A good night out. Fun People Watching and some of us came away with a profit.

Became a member of this casino and had a great night. The food was very reasonably priced and very tasty. The drinks are also reasonably priced with a wide selection, downside is that there are no real ales. The casino has slot machines, roulette, poker and blackjack and as the evening progresses they open more tables. There are roulette tables that allow 50p bets for the canny gamblers as well as much larger bets for the real gamblers. Had a great evening and walked way with a small profit.

I enjoy the occasional visit to the casino. Usually go with my sister who gets a bit excited but the staff don't mind. All people welcome from ' serious' gamblers to those who wAnt some 50p chips for fun. Food and drink not cheap but nor crazy prices - after all this is a casino. Go and have a good time!

My husband brought me for our anniversary as I'd never been before. Bit of a palava as I didn't realise my id had expired but was given a day pass. Having never been to a casino before I didn't appreciate being spoken down by one of your roulette people. How was I to know a 50p minimum bet didn't count for the outside red or black etc. He was very rude. But the guy working on the spin the wheel thing Fri 21st more than made up for it, lovely lad. And I left with the amount I came with despite buying drinks and cocktails! Would come again when I renew my licence!

The casino hosted a meal & cinema special deal for £17.50. The food was lovely & when we arrived we received a glass of bubbly which was a nice surprise.The venue was clean & the staff were friendly & helpful.The seats in the cinema were in the premier section & very comfortable I would definitely recommend & it is great value for money

Nice casino lay out , no draught bitter (had lager) or steaks on one night we visited.2nd day of visit no draught beer at all !! (had cider)Staff at cash desk gossiping on the phone about facebook, whilst member waiting for pay out. Also sorting staff out with casino chips etc keeping members waiting.Shame on the manager!

You have to dress smart and give ID and take out membership. A one off if you are prepared to loose money.

Every time I come here there is atleast a 40 min wait on food. Even garlic bread. And they shut the bar early with no warning. Rubbish! Should have kept Southsea casino open.

Always a laugh cash or tournament get away if u can if your up wise move food ok slow sometimes look after as an individual new slots and revamp looks amazing

Always have a good laugh in here with friends. Drinks are reasonable prices and the 3 choices for £10 on food is great. Be careful how much you drink because I tend to start spending loads on the slots. Great laugh with your friends and plenty of different games to play!

Teeny, tiny. Just wanted to play a little slots, but not enough machines to really bother. If you know the few machines they have, may be a nice stop, otherwise, don't bother. Note: you can get a free one day pass.

19 for a 3 coarse meal & celebration evening, everyone said that they had a throughly enjoyable time. Food was exellent, staff friendly and very helpful, certainly would go back. Well done to all who help make it a great experience.

Waited 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive even thought we could see them at the bar and after 35 minutes waiting for the starter to arrive we left , no apologies just a good by from the waitress.

We pop in here for a drink now and then but they have stopped selling John Smiths bitter!! The staff admit they don't know why it was withdrawn as they sell a lot. While we were there on Saturday, quite a few people (us included) asked for John Smiths but had to settle for something else. The bar staff said if enough people complain then maybe it will be returned, so come on Grosvenor put John Smiths back! No-one drinks strongbow dark fruits in your establishment or anywhere else.

Popped in on a Sunday with my sister to have a little flutter on roulette . Also opted for some bar food. The grazing snacks were tasty, well priced and delivered to the table by friendly staff. Always a pleasant experience in comfortable surroundings.

Decided after a day out at the quays to pop in and try our luck. The poker seemed a nice room but did not have the time and had already eaten so can't comment on the food. The fruit machines like some other casinos in Birmingham and Nottingham we have visited are way too few in number. It seemed like every machine was in use or have a reserved card on indefinitely. After an hours wait and watching people pass their machines onto their friends we finally got on. Seems mad that that some bingo halls have too many machines ( with lower jackpots I know)and casinos limited to a much smaller number. As others have commented on we had not been asked if we wanted a drink throughout the visit.

Went at around 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon. The choice wasn't great I usually like to play a bit of everything. The fruit machine area was full of machines with reserved signs not allowing anyone to use them and some where even reserved for hours. Staff even helped some players reserve three machines at once! You almost feel like an unwelcome outsider when this happens. This left me the choice of roulette or nothing which is not my favorite game. It did baffle me how there seemed to be several staff standing around doing nothing in the pit area. Also the first casino I have visited where i wasn't offered a drink for the whole 4 hours I attended. Three bar staff were enjoying a good catch up behind the bar and I am now fully aware of their weekend plans!! Would be nice to see someone looking after the machine area to take off reserved signs of machines after at least an hour! Left a bit disappointed!

Every time we go to Gunwharf we always end up in this place the food is good and and the bar prices aint bad either

Lots of casino, backgammon and live music going on here with a full bar that serves the food and expect to pay the price.

Been coming here for years. Always a good bet if you are out in Gunwharf for a few shandies, or even just going out a days shopping. Either way you can't go wrong with a little flutter on the cards or with the chips. The food is terrible, and the beer is expensive. But what do you expect it's a chain casino. The croupiers are all friendly and the games are good. Will always return.

Have visited the Grosvenor many times as I am a member. Always a good experience. They have recently started having an entertainment programme and my partner and I saw ABC there which was great - up close and personal.

Has had massive make over since last visit very big area good bar and food. Staff very friendly well worth a visit.

Too many negatives, be here all night!Food poor service slow & rude Bar staff need a lot more training , all look just 18,One bar staff to serve over 100 people in show bar Queues like you ain't seen! People giving up and walking out, all this on a Saturday night !!!! Will not be returning to this casino, but gunwarf yes,Any peeps want to open a decent casino in gunwarf , please do and then this poor escuse will hopefully close.We did win over £400 so imagine the review if we had lost lol !!!!!

The staff are very friendly. It's in a great location so you can get food or some shopping as well. It's quite big so there are lots of options. I would recommend this for a great place to end the night.

Visited last week for a friends birthday on a friday night, Arrived with 7 friends and we all wanted to eat and drink. A Waitress explained to us that we could buy an experience package which inclues food, drink and a £5 bet- all for only £15!It saved us all alot of money and the food was so nice, we has a choice of platters, steaks burgers and build you own share boxes (try the pulled pork nachos!)After our meal we had some cocktails, played roulette and then went into their showbar where karaoke is free every friday until 2am! Was a good night all round. Definately reccomend it for a night out, will be back sooon!

Took my other half and mother for lunch and it was really good service food and price would recommend it to anyone. Definitely going to go back

I've been getting into the cash poker games here recently but I wonder whether the casino itself is really that interested in running them. For the second time in a week, I've had a considerable wait to try to get on the one operating table, and have seen some players wait literally hours to get a game - only to have to leave unfulfilled because of the late hour. Simultaneously, some croupiers at the roulette tables are stood round picking their fingernails because of a *lack* of players for that game!! I can't understand why the management can't allocate manpower appropriately - or is it a case of not wanting to? Either way, whether in table rake, drinks and food, this casino is missing out on income and at the same time frustrating certain customers! (The food, drink, prices, service and general ambience here are great, I should add for the record.)

I have been to this casino on lots of occasions. We (usually around 20 people) always go for the full house deal. We have never had a bad experience. The food is always top notch and the staff attentive and friendly. Give this place a try, the full house deal is very reasonable. Looking forward to our next visit in the near future. I am sorry but do not eat there . The total experience from booking a table for 5 people to actually eating was horrendous . It took over 1 hour to get our starters 1 soup which was cold and was sent back . Prawn cocktails were like they had just come out the freezer and the calamari wAs just the scrag ends . Our main was 3 Singapore noodles I can't believe 2 had 6 prawns and hardly any noodles the other had 4 prawns and hardly any noodles , but wait there is more in eating the salmon my friend had to pull out a human hair . As we complained everyone was passing the buck , I cannot believe the excuses we got to even blaming the girl who booked it , error dies she work in the kitchens too and aren't you supposed to wear hair nets . We sent be returning there absolutely disgusting

Very nice casino, quite classy, nice friendly staff and a nice range of grill food on offer which was very nice.

8 of us went to the Grosvenor Casino Entertainment evening on Saturday 21st March. It was a girls night for my friends birthday! We had ordered the set two course meal of which we had pre-ordered, and entertainment package. When we arrived at our table the waiter disappeared completely! No one came back to take our drinks order, so I went to the bar a bought a bottle of champagne. They said they'd bring it over along with 8 glasses. They took a further 10-15 minutes to bring it over, after I'd already waited at the bar. (It's meant to be table service) One of our party had to go back to the bar twice to ask how much longer our food was going to be as we had to go in to the entertainment room for 9pm! When the waiter eventually bought our food over we used our drinks tokens to buy a bottle of wine. Which was at least one positive for us! Except the food was wilted, over cooked, cheap ingredients and dry! I ate my starter, which was a mushroom dish. It tasted like tinned mushrooms in a cream of mushroom soup on a single piece of toasted baguette, with a wilted rocket garnish. Only because I was ravenous I finished it. The other girls pushed theirs around their plates.When my main course, a 'salad' came out it was smothered in a sauce. The 'meat' was crunchy and dry. I sent my meal back as it was inedible and asked for my money back. Only one other girl finished her main meal! We left the food and went in to the 'entertainment' room. The singer was ok and friendly towards the crowd and the bar wasn't too packed so it was actually pleasant, but the music was dated and quite cheesy. We ended up having a few drinks (on empty stomachs) and made the most of it! 8 opinionated yet fair, individual ladies unanimously decided we wouldn't be going there again! I have since also learnt that the casino only holds a GRADE 1 food hygiene rating!! Come on Gunwarf! This needs improving for Portsmouth residence and tourists!

Took my sales team here for a celebration and to do something different. Learnt to play poker with tuition which was great fun. But the booking process was terrible lacking any real care and messing us around 3 times with times. Despite sending our meal choices in advance and agreeing our sit down time we had to wait ages for food, then couldn't start to eat as it took them an age to bring a final starter. Huge wait between courses and Samantha our main server was really surley. Order a drink - wait an age. Ask for condiments - wait an age. Cheese came straight from the fridge. Chicken was dry and overcooked. Steaks were low quality. Go for the casino but don't eat.

After a great staff night out at gunwharf we decided to hit the casino,surprised they let us in, as we were pretty happy guys.guess they thought we would lose more money. I normally do, but to be honest i actually won and so did some of the other guys, between us we paid for the whole night including taxis home which at 4am is pretty good.the staff here are fantastic we never had an empty glass, and lots of bottles of water, and loads of fun, maybe because we won.they even called the taxis for us a great end to a great night thank you grosvenor.

The casino has a big make over since last visit but is still well worth a visit can get very busy at times i felt a lot of youngster come in later for drink and taxi's

Having tried the Grosvenor casino for a meal in Osborne Road, Southsea (which was very good indeed) hubby and I thought we'd try the newer one in Gunwharf Quays. Won't bother again.The doorway to the casino being in the car park was really very nice (not too far to walk in heels) and once properly inside we were told that if we took our parking ticket to the Cashier we would not have to pay a parking fee. Very nice! But don't get fooled .... we soon found out that the minimum bet on the blackjack and other games is higher than the Osborne Road casino as are the prices on the menu. So that effectively offset the parking costs!!As the Osborne Rd meals were so good we ordered exactly the same again at Gunwharf but sadly, once the waitress did move herself to take our order, the resemblance stopped there.Don't get me wrong the steaks were nice but hubby ordered 'medium-rare' but it came 'medium-well' and the onions rings actually 'snapped' so evidently they were very overcooked and I found the mushroom and red wine sauce 'greasy'. For dessert I had the chocolate raspberry melting cake with cream ........ crikey, I had to look hard for the cream and as for 'studded' with raspberries, well I didn't find any!!All in all I am looking forward to our next visit to Osborne Road but Gunwharf?? NAH, I don't think so!

Not that I won anything but the staff were friendly the hot kiln smoked salmon caesar salad was surprisingly the best salad I have ever had!! The staff were so nice and welcoming and the man on the blackjack table was very understanding when I told him I have no idea how to play, he took the time and the patience to tell me how to play, really good experience!!

This Casino is packed with plenty of games for all tastes!! The rooms are nicely decorated and there are often 'Show Nights' too which can be fun and a little something extra apart from gambling. The food is good and there are a range of drinks with plenty of special offers so this really can be a winning day or night out!!

We went here for my husband's birthday last Wednesday (25 February 2014). There were only us and another table of four in there so obviously the service was good. I had calamari for starters and there was loads of it. My husband had Thai prawns in batter and said they were lovely. I had a seafood salad for my main and my husband had a steak, both of which were lovely with generous portions. The waiter was friendly and helpful. All in all, our experience in the restaurant was good. Would we go again? Probably. This review does not refer to the bar service - only the restaurant.

Seated for a pre booked valentines meal at £25 a head ( in the Southampton casino exactly the same meal was £15 a head ) at 8.20 . The first course was delivered at 8.40 with a glass of cheap proseco. After that nothing!People were sat there with either dirty crockery or nothing at all. People sat down for an order to be taken and were ignored !People were waiting for the bill and were ignored. We didn't see a waitress for over 30 minutes.Although people at the bar who ordered bar snacks were not ignored at all !Some poor guy in a suit called Ian started to explain that the "gas was going on and off " ?What a shambles.At 9.20 we walked out and went to a real restaurant Jamie Oliver and experienced a real restaurant!A little tip for Grosvenor casino. The money to be made is in the restaurant not in a burger and chips at the bar!And whoever is the Catering Manager there hang your head in shame !

excellent food at a reasonable price, in very pleasant surroundings and attentive staff, adults only, would recommend!
