They always leave the butter underneath or inside the hot food box so that is melted and liquid every time. Brainless behaviour

There was a hair in my food, as soon as I let the worker know she simply said “thank you for that”. That is it, no compensation, not even an apology. Additionally the service was absolutely terrible overall.

I visit my Aunt once a month and always shop and lunch here. For the past couple of years I've always treated myself to the fish and chips and always it was spot on. £8.50 per dinner, today we ordered that same dish X3. It was disgusting,watery and mushy, completely opposite of what was served in the past.We had two of the three meals re done but still horrendous. By this time we were running late and never got time to get a refund.Don't know what has gone so wrong,but please do not order this dish.

Just miserable disinterested staff and almost cold low quality food. Had to go back to the counter three times. Once to ask for a teaspoon and again for a napkin and the third time to ask for HP sauce only to be told they don’t have any and get it anywhere. All these items should be offered to you at point of sale and wouldn’t it be lovely if just one of the staff new how to be courteous and smile a little. We won’t be going back!!

The Food here is slightly worse than Portsmouth Hospital food, or actually could be worse than they serve in a prison canteens..... The day we went I ordered a cooked breakfast plus a drink, my wife ordered something that was supposed to be gluten free, but after ages the food arrived and tesco kitchen staff encluded, non gluten free bread on my wife's dinner, which I believe was mashed patato & something else.... Anyway your be able to see from the pictures, the meals tasted foul.... My big breakfast, was supposed to be large, but actually was quite small, the bacon tasted of acid or preservatives & smelt not like bacon, the portabela mushrooms, had no taste except tasted of salty water... And in the beans I found a black hair... So this rounds it off really, my wife has to eat gluten free or she can have a fit or even die, I told tesco staff about this, but they couldn't be bothered.... A few months back we went to asda the hypermarket, and I had the same as I ordered at tesco.... The only 3 differences were, Asda was cheaper, Asda Good actually tasted enjoyable.... And last, but Not Least..... Asda had NO BLACK HAIR, in there food... (my wife became very sick 🤮 because we ate at Tesco (fratton)... So if your Gluten Intolerant STAY WELL AWAY FROM TESCO CAFFÈ...... Ps knife and forks were dirty, the same as the tables, chairs and the floors

The delivery driver phoned to say he was at number 2, he said that was the number on the order even though it was done through this account. The butter had totally melted and the boxes were soft and almost ripping. Disappointed with the food not sure I will order from there again

You would have thought that putting the price up by 20% might have put me off but to be honest the food was luke warm at best and disappointing for a breakfast that now costs 7 squids...

As an employee working in the stock department, I was shocked and disappointed by the treatment I was given by my fellow colleagues in the café. I happen to frequently patronise this establishment, which is why I recommended it to some friends of mine. We all went for some lunch and all made purchases. As soon as we sat down, one of the employees told us to leave, because one of us had his own sandwich that wasn't bought from the café. This was AFTER they had already paid for other items. The sandwich was actually bought from the same store! I believe this is a case of age discrimination. I was genuinely embarrassed to see my friends kicked out for absolutely no reason. I understand that they don't want people sitting in the café without buying anything, but we had spent over £30! Disgraceful really. I certainly won't be back.

Choked on plastic found in the wrap and then on closer inspection found a piece of plastic wrapping about 3 inches long

We didn't receive any ketchup, as requested and we were sent gf brownies instead of the gf and vegan millionaires bars. My mum is a vegan, so ordered those so she could have one, so disappointed by this. We also didn't receive spread for the toast. Rest of the food was nice, but this let it down. Just eat delivered in good time though, food was still warm

The driver was 20 minutes late, he went to Portsea instead of Fratton which I saw clearly on the map, he drove right by my address. By the the time we got the breakfast it was mostly cold, the fried bread & egg were inedible because they were cold as the grease had solidified, hash browns were soggy with grease. The only things edible were the tomato & beans & cold sausage. Extra eggs were ordered but were missing, not that we could eat them in that state though. Usually have a very good breakfast from here.

My breakfast was missing fried bread and food was only lukewarm. I tried reporting this online but app wouldn’t let me. I then tried calling the store. After going through endless automated options and finally reaching service desk, they put me through to wrong dept who couldn’t transfer me. After calling again, I spoke to a pleasant operative who despite trying to resolve issue, couldn’t put me through to the cafe. He suggested I go into the store to complain. I’ve ordered several times before with no problem. However, this experience has put me off if there’s no way to actually report a problem if it occurs.

This place is a hidden jem. I went into the cafe and got food there and I was shocked. Nothing like a cafe food more like a high end restaurant. The food was amazing when delivered

I was waiting 45 minutes for my food. I live in a communal flat and my food was left down stairs outside the main communal door without being told where it is. It was only by luck that I found it and obviously the food was cold.

Went in for breakfast 2nd week in a row before shopping Had full breakfast wont be going back for a long while, bacon like crisps sausage cold as was tomato hash browns Luke warm as were beans gave it a second chance as we all have bad days especially now trying times Made staff aware not that interested told me to go to customer services wasn't prepared to wait definitely give it a miss if I were you would tell anyone to avoid

This place is very pricey, and I think the portions are small. I waited 30 mins for just warm coffee and some chips. When I got my chips they were also barley warm, it’s like I ordered them and they just left them sitting for 20 mins before serving, they came in a small bowl less than half full. Chips had some black things on the chips usually from older oil. Annoying thing was the chips where actually decent. But I don’t enjoy waiting 30 mins for just chips and then get them cold.

Just like any other cafe in a shop, usually not too busy but be prepared that it may on weekends

An absolute waste of time and money. Staff very unprofessional, friendly enough, just unprofessional. I suppose cheap employment and lack of training.

Reasonable value for money, seating was limited at time of visit, Friendly staff. I ad a vege breakfast which was of a satisfactory amount, tasty and at a good temp. Chipped teacup which was off putting.

Not always clean as not enough staff to clear and clean tables. Food often waiting quite a while in serving hatch before being delivered to customer, consequently food not very hot.

Went for breakfast for 5 mornings & each time there was no problem with waiting to have our orders taken or with the food which arrived soon afterwards (though we were there after 8:30 every day) staff were friendly & efficient. Had visited the previous year & had the same level of service. Would be my first place to get breakfast next time I'm around Fratton.

Where to start, paper plates, coffee served in to go cup even though drinking in, no thrills omlette (£5ish) where the butter for toast was missed and had to fetch your own cutlery and quite a long wait in a one person queue. I know that Tesco might think that they have a captive audience, so they don't need to try, but still..Weatherspoon's provide a much better service and they're hardly a Michelin starred restaurant.

Visited with my children for a quick lunch. Wasn't expecting anything amazing from a Tesco cafe, but we were served disgusting dry microwave food served on paper plates. Unbelievable

We went for breakfast which in itself was average, eggs not very well cooked and only one small butter pat for toast. Toilets were not available which meant the nearest was back downstairs in the carpark.

Do not bother going here, the food is disgusting and sits around so long it's stone cold when it gets to you. The staff have no idea what they are doing, had a 50% off voucher and was still charged full price with the member of staff insisting she had applied the discount. Shocking service.

We've never had any complaint but today sadly it wasnt the case. We arrived mid morning a young lady and a young man were on duty. The menu said as it normally does "Scrambled Eggs and Toast" but today they were off the young lady said (no mention of that on the menu board however), So my friend opted for a Tea Cake while i opted for a Toastie. The young lady eventually appeared with my Toastie but in apologetic terms said that Tea Cakes were off also. 2 options she offered, order something else or a refund, My friend opted for a refund. To make it worse the young man ten went off and reappered with tea cakes but it was too late then. Meanwhile all the dirty plates were piling up, no sign of anyone cleaning up. Get a grip Tesco

On arrival the queue was enough to put you off. After a wait the order was taken but the server failed to ask for my Tesco Club card. Another long wait for second server to put hot water and a tea bag into a teapot !! I took my table flag number and looked for a table. Every free table was littered with trays of used plates, cups and half eaten food. I eventually found a settee, not idea for eating food but there was no alternative. I was aware that there was an argument coming from the kitchen as raised voices bellowed out from the hatch. I did not wait for may food, just got up and left. This cafe needs a serious managerial review.

The Cafe ist situated in Tesco, so obviously there's not that nice of an atmosphere to it. There are a lot of windows, however the view isn't nice. That being said, I've been there a couple of times with familiy to grab a quick bite to eat for lunch or some coffe and cake and the food was always good. The service is a little bit slow and could improve, but everybody was always really friendly.

Went in for an all day breakfast and other meals just after 2 pm only to be told the kitchen is now closed!

Was treated really bad by the manager, she clearly has no concept of customer service and was so rude. I will in future take my custom elsewhere.

This was a great place to get a bite to eat and a good coffee after doing our shopping. But in the last few weeks things have gone downhill. Most of the staff have been replaced. It takes forever to be served and you are given cold coffee. The menu is much more limited now. The staff are runing around trying to do three jobs at once and seem very unhappy. We went there a few days ago and other customers were complaining about the sevice too.

Taken over by Eastern Europeans and after I paid for the breakfasts and drinks the girl said ...errr are you waiting for anything? ,I replied yes , she says what , I said a tea and coffee I just paid for ....normal wait for the breakfast, EXCEPT my wife heard the bell ring (twice) and there were no other waiting customers. Our breakfasts were on the counter waiting to be delivered to our table... cut to the chase ...after 3 mins, I went and got them only for the dopey waitress to come out and say .... I was just bringing them to you....... needless to say we went to mcD this week

This is a very convenient pre-match venue, but the food quality varies greatly. The first point I want to make is that, contrary to a view expressed in another review, all Pompey supporters who sit in the café are eating, drinking, or both. The fish and chip meal is consistently good and my husband usually selects it. However, I choose something lighter at lunchtime and today my meal was listed as, "halloumi and roasted pepper wrap with side salad". This sounded delicious and the side salad was dressed and tasty. The roasted peppers were in abundance in the wrap. But even after unwrapping one half (the wrap is pre-cut), there was no sign of halloumi. Thinking mine was a one-off error, I asked the man at an adjoining table whether his had any halloumi in it. He said that he wasn't completely sure what halloumi was, but the wrap seemed to be peppers only. It suits my husband and me to eat at the café, as there is a dearth of choice, once parked nearby - but, having sampled all of the lighter menu choices, I am, unfortunately, no nearer finding a tasty lunch that delivers, in proportion, the satisfaction of their lasagne, or fish and chips. Today, the café appeared to have dispensed with the waitress who doubled as table-finder at busy times. The convo went thus... "While I was ordering, the remaining tables have been taken. Do you not have the lady who helps sort out a table and chairs for people waiting?" "We have never had anyone like that," said the man at the till. "You did have, last football season and you will need someone again, this year." "Over there is a table that's now free." "Thank you very much."

Had a full English breakfast for a reasonable price. Place was very busy but the food was tasty and served quickly by friendly staff. Would recommend

Finished shopping in Tesco's store and used the Cafe to get a quick lunch while waiting to meet up with family. Easy to order food and quick service. No issues. One down side. Do not visit the Cafe when Portsmouth Football Team is playing at home. All their supporters use the cafe taking up seats while waiting for the Football Ground to open. Annoying really as they are not eating or using the Cafe facilities, just taking up seats.
