Costa Coffee in Portsmouth

Cakes were looking past their sell by date and when I chose and asked for a specific one the lady was not best pleased. The drinks came out warm to cold and when I took them back my answer was 'yea alright'. We did get fresh drinks though that I admit were warmer. Cleanliness and tidiness was not their fortè.

Popped in this morning not having been in for quite a while. Very pleasantly surprised. Greeted by Chris as we walked in. Coffee made to perfection. Couldn't fault at all. When we left they were busy but Chris still said goodbye and wished us a nice day. It makes such a difference to get a warm welcome. Costa should be proud that they have such great staff. Well done 👍

So so bad, I got a cheese and tomato toaster and there was NOTHING in it, nothing at all, two slices of bread with a tomato paste it was awful like eating cardboard!!! Staff VERY unhelpful

Order was wrong, but staff were lovely and it was quite busy so didn't want to burden them! I'm sure they would have sorted it if I told them.

There's not a lot to say about a costa, pretty much the same wherever go. This one did have super friendly staff and is a bit cleaner than the average. The walls could do with a wipe down, though. Well done. Big suprise here, though, was the chilli beef toastie and toasted extra dark, just the way I like it, delicious 😉👌

Very convinient location just at the bottom of the apartments tower block, very busy on a weekend but peaceful and pleasant.

We went to the Christmas part in gumwafth and we thought a coffee would be nice so we went to costa and got a cappuccino and a special gingerbread drin with a gingerbread man with it we enjoyed it thanks costa in gumwafth

Nice coffee however, the toilet was disgraceful. Dirty, toilet tissues on the floor, empty toilet paper dispenser and it was during quiet hours. 10th Nov. 2024 16:30

Met a good friend and his wife for coffee and a cake... not much an offer. My coffee was not very hottt despite asking for it to be extra hot.. not very nice.

Best avoided when there's a queue, even if less than three in front. At best 10mins or more. So-so otherwise.

Doesn't match a typical costa Service slow and customer service off won't be going back to this costa get better customer service from Tescos costa machine

I know it's a Costa but the atmosphere was horrible, the service really poor and the coffee was rubbish. Tasted bitter and very old.

We didn't eat but my chia was very good

Staff were talking among themselves about how much could you put in the shaker. The other staff said you wouldn't be able to fit 4 in. But she carried on and did it and just put more cream in to cheat because she couldn't be bothered. At the end, I heard the other staff member say that it was caramel when it was supposed to be strawberry and white chocolate but she laughed and still served the wrong products. Anyway, it tasted nice and I would have said something but was in a rush. Staff need to be more professional here as it's so unprofessional to do that in front of a customer. And knowing you are serving the wrong product.

Packed out on Saturday. People walking out long queues no seats. Get more staff. Can someone re arrange the seats. The 4 upholstered ones out and tables and chairs instead. This would allow 4 more customers. It's not rocket science.

Nice little Costa tucked away from main shops. Busy enough for an atmosphere, quiet enough to chat. Coffee good as always & white hot chocolate available here.

Stopped for a quick drink. Having the front door wedged open on a nippy day like today, meant that when the staff access door (in the rear of the unit) was opened a draft went through the cafe making it very unpleasant. This rear door doesn't appear to close properly making it very drafty. I had to change seat.

Driver was great. I messed up and put the wrong house number but the driver managed to find me and still be early!

Drinks were fine one wrap was fine but was given a tuna panini instead of bacon and brie no note on reciepts no phonecall about substitution and only realised when I bit into it. I can't stand tuna

Never been to a bad Costa, this one is equal to the others. Consistently above average drinks and food.

Stopped in here before shopping in Gunwharf. Had a nice Latte and a filling baguette which was nice and hot. Would certainly use again.

Went in and ordered a blueberry bubble drink with soya milk. The person who served me instantly said, "Do I have any allergy?" I said yesterday wheat and gluten. She doubled and checked for her own safety. Even though I said I've checked and its fine. This showed me a member of staff who went out of her way to make sure I wasn't ill. Thank you so much! Other stores pay attention. This is how you do it right. Thanks, Costa.

You know what you're getting when you visit a Costa however the service here was better than usual. General conversation while coffees were prepared, rather than 'upselling'. Unfortunately some of the tables look out the back door where the bin store was located. To help with keeping the place clean, why do Costa not have a place to return used cups, plates, etc?

Costa coffee in Pompey (Portsmouth) is excellent. Its situated slightly away from the hassle and bustle of Gunwharf Quays which is welcome as Gunwharf is really busy most of the time. Lovely friendly staff and also they don't mind going the extra mile. I'm a type 2 diabetic and needed extra water which they happily provided. Very good. They also got a nice outside area to drink and take in the views.

On time but slow. Coffees had been tipped over so only received one full cup out of 3 :(

A usual high standard of costa. Great selection although even when it was very quiet (not busy) the table cleanliness wasn't the greatest. Also as I sat in to enjoy a hot beverage, I was given a my drink in a take away cup. Small detail but didn't feel I enjoyed it as much.

Dieser Costa ist immer überrannt und immer unsauber. Gestern Kaffee Latte mit Vollmilch bestellt und bezahlt. Dann erfahren, dass es keine Vollmilch gibt. Kaffee trotzdem genommen. Er war abscheulich. Das Getränk hat nach alter H-Milch geschmeckt. Von Kaffee keine Spur. Auf jeden Fall kaufe ich diese teuren Getränke nicht mehr. Das ist Geldverschwendung.

Only my 2nd visit to a Costa. The pigs in blankets panini was delicious 😋. My friend sent me in invitation for the Costa app, which I have done and was given a free drink. Unfortunately as it was only a short time to use it, I have not been able to make use of it 😞 .

What a busy place. Quite small so not a lot of seating ,saw people walking away. Only 1 toilet, very well used!

After dropping my son off for a Uni trip, popped in for a coffee, before the long drive home. The staff are excellent, very happy and cheerful. Definitely a nice start of the day.

Very slow service, all tables we’re unclean and dirty. No cutlery given with coffee and cake. Air conditioning leaking from celling onto customers.

Very busy and strange layout. It is a small store with nowhere to stand when you are waiting for your drinks. Then once you get them the stirrers and sugars are nowhere to be found... Spoiler alert: they are by the entrance

Good coffee as you can expect from any Costa. At this location also the possibility to have some lunch like tosti or a panini.

Beautiful spot with a nice view of Gunwhard Quays. And the drinks are lovely.
