Costa Coffee in Portsmouth

Comfortable and cozy. Staff are all friendly and helpful. Always a perfect coffee...

It is 15.30, the cafe closes at 5. No iced drinks available and staff neglecting the queue of customers to clean and put chairs up. Understandable if closing in 30 mins- but not 5. Made for a very harangued and unpleasant environment with customers leaving and not ordering.

NOT LOCATED HERE! I've moved the pin several times and it keeps being moved back. This Costa is part of Ocean Retail Park and is clearly visible from Burfields Road. Past couple of times I've been here they've been really slow, it may just be training new staff, but if so they must have a problem with turnover. This visit they got the order wrong, putting the wrong syrup in, and charging us for food we didn't order. The staff noticed the latter, I noticed the former when the drink was foul.

Dropped in this morning and it was a lovely surprise to see the new manager Ashley. She used to be at the branch on Commercial Road, Portsmouth, which is our regular haunt. Always can rely on her team to give an excellent service. Our drinks were made to perfection and it was rather special that our preferences were remembered. Coca Cola should be very happy that they have such great staff. We will definitely be back again very soon.

Place is fine and the manager is great but there seems to be an issue with some of the staff. Had a particularly surly young girl serve us yesterday and she kept looking at customers behind us smirking, and looking really fed up, I mentioned it to the manager and he said- ah she’s just tired, she’s worked all weekend. I did reply - yes like most people.

Usual Costa fare but the two ladies on duty at 15.52 on May 2nd were exceptional in their friendliness and kindness to customers- really lovely to experience

popped in yesterday for a coffee, no idea what it was like as the woman "serving" was to busy to talking to her friend at the other end of the counter to take my order. after waiting 3-4 minutes I decided it's probably not worth it and went to Starbucks just around the corner. maybe costa should send their employees to Starbucks for training as they clearly need it.

Visited 17/02/24. Coffee good, service not so good. Waited a good 4 mins to be served when there wasn’t anybody in front of me. Staff chatting amongst themselves and not paying attention to me waiting. I felt ignored. I didn’t complain as service staff in hospitality isn’t easy. If Costa management read this, please train your staff to be more alert to customers waiting. Apart from that, coffee was good and the restaurant was clean and relaxing.

On attempting to get in the premises was locked, a customer told me to go around to the side as I was about to leave. When I asked the woman serving why the door was locked she said because it won't stay closed and we are cold. I said tescos and all the other shops doors are automatic and don't close at least put a sign on the door, to which I was given a dirty look and told I will When I get time to. There was only 3 customers in all in the shop and they were chatting about having to do extra hours. Whilst I was in there 9 people tried the door and walked away assuming it was closed. Sort it out costa seriously doors open when people try to get in

Ordered a hot chocolate and left. Was given coffee. I hate coffee. Wasted my money.

Good coffee, clean environment. It was quite busy when I went and they could have done with someone clearing tables to make room.

Wanted tea for two in a pot and was served a tiny pot with one tea bag.apparently should have just asked for 2 teas in 2 pots asked for more water so was given another pot which was half full. And given ungracefully , another tea bag.The girl who served me didn't explain that tea for 2 meant one little pot.Passed me a pot of hot water above a baby,'s head and was very rude.I thought the usual rule is that the customer is right .Need customer service training at Costa Coffee.

I queued for 25 mins today and it wasn't a large queue,the first 10 mins I did not move. The staff were just so slow.

Ordered online for delivery via Uber Eats, received someone else's order which, according to the receipt, was supposed to be collected. Totally ruined my day. Unprofessional and just generally atrocious service. Thumbs down.

The coffee is disgusting. I’m not recommending that place. We order coconut latte and how that coffee was made was awful. When I sow how the milk was froth was outrageous, the coffee is disgusting. The way it was running from the machine is unbelievable. Definitely not worth the money spent. The coffee taste like it was burnt, I couldn’t taste coconut milk at all not surprised after what I sow.

Great location, clean, and really good selection of food and sweet treats. Served by Emma, minimal wait, and loads of seating and tables including outside for the better weather when it arrives.

Quick service, in and out as you'd expect. Drink was still good in the thermos in my bag once arriving home.

Nothing really wrong except it’s difficult to believe that a food outlet doesn’t have the basics such as salt and pepper. The guy who served us simply said “We don’t have salt and pepper”. Very odd!!!

Relaxed atmosphere. Always a good place for a coffee date with the hubby. Love Costa. ❤

A very busy and average Costa in a prime location. It could be down to the store being busy but the overall cleanliness of this branch was lacking and the customer experience had room for improvement. The store manager was brash and didn't have any personal touch to connect with the customers, could as easily have been a checkout service from an automated machine in Tesco. Coffee and cake was good and offered something to like, but overall I was disappointed.

I'm not sure what keeps happening but everytime I order a free drink at Costa I get a medium? And it wasn't a special. Always seem slightly disappointed when grabbing a coffee at any costa.

Such lovely staff, always have smiles on there faces and work quickly to ensure your not waiting for ages! I've been meeting friends here weekly now for over a year and all the staff know our orders before we even say them! There always helpful with recommendations to get the most out of the app!

I go to loads of Costa's. First time I ever had staff rude. Today at about 15:00 I walked in the side door. You should have seen the attitude of a staff member. He told me that they're closed and I should have seen this piece of paper in door telling me so. Well if you're closed "Lock the door!!" The main door was locked!! Don't blame customers for coming in doors that aren't locked.

Not happy with server on till.lads First name refused to be given. When we arrived dirty cups still on only availible table, but we wanted a coffee so moved ourselves. My daughter went up to order coffee, wearing a mask .she has had a kidney transplant, and is classed as immune vunerable. The server behind the counter was rude to her, saying he could not understand what she was saying, and not to shout as she was wearing mask. My daughter came back to me most upset, I went to challange him, but he had gone into private office. I open door to witness him laughing and joking telling fellow workmates about the incident. Alec the manager then came forward, no apology offer. Will never return. No Wonder covid will never disappear when people are shamed for wearing masks.

It's a Costa. It is nice enough, sure. But there's no character, like some Costa branches. To be fair, where its situated, that's all you need and the staff are friendly and capable.. but, it's a Costa..

Ok for chain. Food and drinks nice enough if pricey to me. And though would prefer a non chain option, still nice to have cafe' in this location.

It's ok. Does coffee (which I can't stand, but the wife loves) and other drinks with a wide selection of snacks too. The millionaires shortbread is very tasty.

I often visit this Costa with my family but today met up with a friend. Lovely friendly service couldn’t do enough to make you feel comfortable. Clean shop, lovely food and cake. Would highly recommend.

You need to change the opening times on the website so we know when to come and not false advertisement as we came today and you were closed at six when on the website it said open till eight pm

Still can't sit in, but there are some tables to sit outside. Coffee just as good as usual, but being able to sit and drink makes it seem even better. Roll on 17th May, unless the gov't changes the rules again.

Good place. One way system to serve people with masks and protect customers already served. Nice place to stop for chat and coffee during shopping or out for a walk or in the car easy to park.✌️

Staff are always friendly and efficient. Sometimes there can be a queue if you get there at the wrong time but other than that they are much the same as other Costa branches. They have done a great job with there COVID measures though now that they have changed the system to 1 door in and 1 door out.

Takeaway only at the moment due to covid

Slow service bearing in mind there was only 3 other people there and 2 servers, expensive, not great coffee to be honest, room for improvement

The table were dirty and had old used cups and trays still on them, at least 5 tables required clearing and cleaning. When the tables were cleared they were not cleaned. A couple, with young children, came in after us, and we infomed them that the table had not been cleaned, they went and got a cloth and cleaned the table themselves. This is NOT acceptable in these COVID times where companies are saying they are following the rules. It has made us think twice about going to COSTA again.

Average, not many tables to sit at. Small tea portion for the price. But WiFi connection was decent.

Not been to this Costa at Ocean Park until today. Open, modern and clean - but our table had other people's detritus on it and the table itself was dirty, so my husband asked if someone could clean it when he ordered our coffee. The young man gave him a wet j-cloth!! So, not only did we take the used cups and plates back to the counter, we cleaned the table ourselves! Unusual experience in a Costa - it brings a whole new meaning to self-service.

Lovely drinks nice little coffee shop

This is by far my favourite Costa in Portsmouth. So retro and beautiful. The staff are so friendly and I love going there for a bit to eat and a latte after a lovely day shopping.

Wet day and you're Costa servers had smile on their face and greeted my 5yr old grandson which he loved. Well done we will come here again

Was served a latte in a dirty glass! However the assistant did make another latte and apologised but not good to be served a drink in a dirty glass in the first place..

Ordered my drink and left. When I started drinking my drink I realised it had a different taste to it. Rather than the white hot chocolate I get elsewhere, it tasted like rice pudding.
