Lovely place to eat . Nice cosy and food and staff were all lovely. I came here last June for my 60 th birthday was really impressed but the meal and the value for money. So we decided we would come bk two weeks ago to have the posh fish finger sandwich. Then booked for the turkey tinsel Christmas meal. Which was lovely. Definitely value u for money. The young girls were all lovely helpful . As was the older lady think her name was Catrina ? I'm sure you know who it is if that's wrong name lol. Entertainment was lovely . We didn't stay for bingo as we had dogs at home. All in all it was lovely experience with my 86 yr old mum and my best friend. I've already told friends to go for a meal even if not a Christmas lunch.Highly recommend. Certainly value for money .

First time visit for Sunday morning breakfast. Full breakfast and a breakfast omelette, both were excellent quality and tasty. Lovely quality sausages, no chip shop style! Toast was particularly good with plenty of butter! Really friendly service too.

I was absolutely appalled by the whole experience at Love Penarth this afternoon. We walked in and was absolutely bombarded with a man at the counter telling us everything they had. There were no menus, nothing written on the boards above the bar, no indication of pricing or what they served. Due to this a man behind the bar was up in our faces telling us the menu as soon as we took one foot into the restaurant, we felt we had to stay. They were only taking cash so we had to get cash out after ordering what we wanted. We ordered one scoop of vanilla ice cream in a tub, an iced soya milk coffee and a tuna sandwich with some salad. This cost us £15! When I found out how much my mum had to pay for such little poor quality food and a service from people who seemed desperate. I decided to ask for a receipt to figure out how it was so expensive. The tuna sandwich was absolutely appalling and would’ve honestly costed them 50p to make but some how coated us £7/£8. The salad must’ve gone off and there wasn’t even much of it, the bread was your typical cheap bread. Which is totally fine! But how can you charge £8 for this!? The ice cream was apparently £3.50 which was from your cheap soft scoop vanilla ice cream, you could probably get a whole tub for less than what we paid for a scoop. The iced coffee I didn’t even try, I wanted to return it for some money back because to pay £15 was just wrong! I work in hospitality along side my studies, so I understand from both points of view and I’m never one to complain or expect refunds or anything but this was just a rip off and completely unfair and inhumane. When I spoke to this gentleman about possibly getting a refund at least for the coffee, I gave clear and reasonable reasoning and the attitude I received was absolutely shocking. He was so rude and refused to believe anything was wrong, he done anything wrong or that we should have a refund. He said he could only give me 50p which I don’t understand where that logic came from or why he thought that was an acceptable price or response. Eventually, he gave me a £4 refund. I knew I wasn’t going to get anywhere with this man so gave in and took the money and left. After that we had a waitress who constantly kept coming over to ask me what happened which was a bit unprofessional and again was just bombarding us with questions and information etc. I didn’t discuss it further and when she apologised (the only apology I had gotten) I reassured her it wasn’t her fault and that she only brings out what she’s given and she had nothing to worry about. With that we left. I can’t even put into words how awful this experience was and how wrong we were treated. Like I said, we are not people who complain, ever. And being a waitress I completely understand and get both sides of unhappy customers. However, this was just too far cross that line and as a family with not much money, and was only out for a treat, it was a complete let down and disappointment

The place itself isn't much to look at and at times it seems like its not open in some form or another...but the burgers we had were some of the best in the area and the price made them great value, will definitely be returning...

We found this little gem as we walked along the street. It was spotlessly clean, spacious, and had very nice staff. we both had a light lunch which was very good and the coffee excellent - piping hot and just as we like it. It is also dog friendly and had a corner with plenty of things to amuse the children. We really enjoyed our visit,
