Green Lodge Hotel in Wirral

I recently visited The Green Lodge in Hoylake for a Sunday roast dinner last week with friends along with a 30% off voucher only on mains in hand, the voucher come through the post and the discount is what enticed us to dine there rather than the Boathouse in Parkgate which is nice but never had any offers on - with a group of seven adults and one child (2 years old) we couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience and the bill came to £20 per head including one drink each and a main meal each and a child’s meal to boot. The food was lovely well-portioned, served piping hot, and exactly as we ordered. Every dish arrived in a timely manner, with no mix-ups or returns, which made the visit even more memorable. The quality of the meat and vegetables was excellent, all cooked to perfection. Beyond the food, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The seating was comfortable, the venue was very clean, and the staff were attentive and accommodating. It’s an ideal place for families meeting up or even a business lunch. Another bonus is the location —just a 10-minute walk to the seaside and there is plenty of parking spaces, making it easily accessible. We highly recommend The Green Lodge and will definitely be returning soon. Just one big disappointment was there wasn’t any Sparkling Water in the house and the soda water offered as a substitute isn’t to everyone’s taste ! The Green Lodge gets a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me anyhow.

Lovely food, the best staff and atmosphere.

Recent refurb, its brilliant. Had a lovely meal which was really good, as was the red wine and Wainwrights bitter. Service was exceptional to. Its walking distance so will be back regularly.

Greeted by a cheerful lady named Ellie and was seated immediately. Food came out quickly and was cooked to perfection, had the fish and chips and will be definitely be ordering it again, drinks and food prices were very reasonable, will be coming back again when I am in the area

Very disappointed when we visited the Green Lodge. There was nobody around when we arrived. Nobody behind the bar or serving the tables. You can order from the website but I could not order half a pint of coke, it was only showing pints! Prices are slightly higher than the likes of the Ember Inns. In the end we let without ordering and went to the Greave Dunning.

Had our last 2 office Christmas meals here and both times the food was perfect. I especially loved the Christmas pudding and really want to know what exactly was in it, best Xmas pud I've ever had!! Very reasonably priced too. Will be returning!

The Christmas decor was amazing ,Atmosphere fabulous The food was wonderful ,Karina and her team worked wonders ,The service was very smooth and faultless the food was well presented and tasted marvellous the atmosphere was warm and welcoming the team were led from the front by Karina who kept things running smoothly and efficiently we will be returning in the new year.

A warm friendly place, very clean and friendly. Unfortunately not everything was available on the menu, but the ribeye was cooked to perfection and very nice.

Just like last Christmas eve dinner last year, the manager and staff bent over backwards to make everything perfect for us. Right through from the servers to the bar staff, everyone is polite, efficient and professional. And of course, the food was perfect and excellent value for money. I honestly could not rate our experience at the Green Lodge with less than a ten. Well done to all the team and we'll see you next year. Lee

Food was great and came out quickly but the QR code links to an ordering service that is slow both in terms of the selecting the items and the priority these orders get from the bar; it would have been quicker to order at the bar

Lovely place to eat . Nice cosy and food and staff were all lovely. I came here last June for my 60 th birthday was really impressed but the meal and the value for money. So we decided we would come bk two weeks ago to have the posh fish finger sandwich. Then booked for the turkey tinsel Christmas meal. Which was lovely. Definitely value u for money. The young girls were all lovely helpful . As was the older lady think her name was Catrina ? I'm sure you know who it is if that's wrong name lol. Entertainment was lovely . We didn't stay for bingo as we had dogs at home. All in all it was lovely experience with my 86 yr old mum and my best friend. I've already told friends to go for a meal even if not a Christmas lunch.Highly recommend. Certainly value for money .

I have to say that the Green Lodge is exactly what you want from a pub. I came in Friday with my daughter for lunch, my son for dinner on Saturday, and I will be back. The thing that makes the difference about the Green Lodge is that they care. The beers are really good (and I work for Carlsberg), the food is excellent, but the hinge factor are the staff. Karine, Joe, Sophie and Jimmy (to name those I remember) reflect the care and passion that makes the differenece. I suspect the kitchen staff are cut from the same cloth too. Thank you. Great job, I'm happy! Harry says "yeah!"

Great spot for food and drinks, went with some mates and had a great time. Service was amazing, very friendly and eveything was perfect! Couldn’t fault it at all, special mention to Lee he looked after us and was always checking on us!

Lovely place, warm friendly atmosphere. Young lady dealing with us gave friendly service with a smile. Chicken tenders and chips were lovely, would have been happier with a larger portion. Cauliflower wings were a bit greasy,too much better,not enough cauliflower.

Love this place the food and service is simple amazing, the staff just can't do enough for you think this is going the be a weekly visit.

I was greeted immediately and shown to a table that I had booked for 4 people. The two young waiters could not have been more friendly, efficient and professional . We had a most pleasant lunch and the attention we received certainly enhanced our experience. The two youngsters were a credit to yourselves and to the younger generation. Thank you.

Food was great, lovely atmosphere and the customer service was excellent, particularly from Quinn who went the extra mile throughout the evening to ensure we had an enjoyable time. His warmth, friendliness and professionalism was superb. Every interaction he had with us was first class. He was a credit to the Green Lodge.

This is my regular Pub, I usually go with my Dad and our Family Dog but this week I went with a Friend who used to live here years ago, such a wonderful atmosphere and everyone from the Bar Staff, to the Waitress/Waiter and the Management are ever so friendly and welcoming! My Friend and I had a lovely time :). Thank you again, we'll be back soon :)

Really nice place nice staff very welcoming lovely food I had the seabass lovely meal room comfortable and clean could do with an iron in the room though. The reason I'm giving a 3 stars is it's to pricey for what you get 5 pounds a pint 8.75 a breakfast to pricey when you have a weatherspoons a few hundred yards away breakfast 3.14 plus 2.50 for the same drink also the price to stay should be cheaper

Overall the food was very nice, nice atmosphere too, but the overall service was lacking, nobody available to seat us, nobody really checking in on us and at times the bar staff did not seem to happy. We did have a very nice and officiant server when it came to ordering food, but I feel they were being stretched on the floor.

VERY DISAPPOINTING It was very quiet when we arrived, only one other party/table seated and another arrived short after us. When we were ready to order we had to wait about 5 minutes for someone to turn up at the bar then to be told “I’ll be with you in a minute” several times. Once we finally managed to order it was 45 minutes before the food started to arrive and about 55 minutes by the time the last plate was brought out to us. There was black pudding on the vegetarian breakfast. There were items missing from some of the plates which was eventually rectified. The staff were very apologetic but the overall experience was far from what we expected as a customer and I’m sure far from what you are expecting as a company. It’s safe to say we'll not be eating here again.

Not the best frozen roast spuds bland cauliflower cheese food not hot asked for extra graveyard never arrived asked again but had eaten half of my meal ,won't be retuning

Extremely expensive for a few drinks. This is almost London prices. I will not drink there again , avoid it unless you are Rich or mad

Always a lovely visit here at the green lodge, the staff are always very friendly and helpful and the food is always spot on. Karina is an excellent host and always has time for her guests too no matter how busy she is. We will be back soon

Highly recommend this accommodation. The lady who runs the hotel is very welcoming and personally adheres to your wants and needs. The food is great and the hotel/bar and restaurant has a very warm feeling. Will definitely chose here again.

Over priced, under cooked food, mixed grizzle was woeful, I have had better mixed grill at Weatherspoon’s! The service was polite and we were refunded for the cold pie, but felt a bit let down to be honest.

We had gone on a quiet day but the staff were amazing and polite. the food was made in ample time and was well made. fish and chips was massive.

We had lunch here today. They have a lunchtime menu , we chose to have two courses , £15.50 per person. The choice was good and the food was delicious. Plenty of food and all of us were too full to try a desert. The staff were lovely , so friendly and helpful. A really lovely relaxing atmosphere, would definitely recommend here for lunch. We will definitely be returning.

A lovely pub on the Wirral. Staff very friendly, I went with work colleagues and the food was great and reasonably priced. Nice beers on tap.

We recently held my father’s end of life celebration at the green lodge for 45 friends and family. Karina, the manager, and her team were absolutely fantastic. Professional, thoughtful, responsive. Overall what a wonderful team of people who helped make what was a difficult day floorless and memorable for us all. I really can’t thank them enough. Superb.

Busy place. Good service, pleasant staff checking if everything was ok.

Visited midweek for a drink. Fair amount of customers eating lunch, a good sign. Large pub, standard drinks, decor good. However in the areas the staff may no int visit frequently, the approaches to the toilet and the male toilets, indicate the customers are not that well behaved. A good bit of decorating required.

As for today, food and service exemplary. All of us spoke highly about both & the portions, and quality of food was first class. Staff, helpful and pleasant throughout, nothing was too much. Great pub, very busy and popular….. always a good sign. Recommend to anyone & definitely will return. Overall, 10/10 Thanks again for making our day special. Brian & Michaela

Really nice pub with a lovely bar, excellent food and a nice atmosphere. Stayed two nights for a conference in Liverpool - surprisingly practical for the latter as Hoylake station is 5 minutes walk max, so you're in James Street in 30 or so minutes. Rooms are clean and functional. The staff are great and a full English is perfect after a night out - though could benefit from a slightly less intense breakfast option!

Booked a room last minute (and I mean LAST minute) and could not have been treated better. Jo, karina and the team were super helpful. Will definitely be coming back if working this way again. Thanks all

Lovely Sunday Roast. Good choices of meat. Friendly and efficient staff. Knocked off 1 star as roast potatoes could have been a bit hotter. Overall a very pleasant visit.

Very nice place to visit been going to the green lodge hotel for some years not been for a while but on our return the place could not be run any better already booked our Christmas Day lunch here looking forward to it

We had fish and chips and scampi and a hunters chicken I had lasagne the fish was crisp the chicken was moist the scampi was cooked nice the lasagne was hot nicely cooked but really lacking in flavour could only score a 3 on the food. been for another visit had hunters chicken on the cusp of being dry the chips were abit lacking in crispiness and fluffiness the waiter did pass on our thoughts to the kitchen steak pie was OK hot not much flavour but I ate it prices weren't too bad but would expect it to be spot on !!!

Fabulous food, both had the Sunday lunches, me beef and hubby trio, plate was fit to burst with food . Highly recommended this place, we will be back.

Husband John an I spent a lovely evening at The Green Lodge with our friends Clyde and Jan who are visiting from the USA. The staff are great; paricularly Cara, Jim and Karina, all very welcoming, helpful and attentive. The food choices were good and we all enjoyed our individual meals. The Green Lodge dining areas are well laid out, easily accessible and have a nice atmosphere and there is also good car parking. Thanks to all the staff and we will definitely return.

Second visit as the first wasn't good. this time was even worse. I and my wife ordered the ceaser salad. It came and at first didn't look that bad. On eating it, however it was just slop. I could tell that it had been pre made in a large bowl. The salad leaves were wilted in the ceaser sauce which was far too much. The crispy croutons were soggy and the diced chicken was very hard and chewy. I wouldn't recommend the Green Lodge to anyone. I told the staff who apologised and later came and asked if we wanted a free dessert, which we refused. It's not about getting a freebie it's about getting quality food. Don't go!

Excellent food & service but be warned, drinks are VERY expensive!

Lovely pub, traditionally furnished, and great service. Cosy inside but also has lots of outdoor seating. Dog friendly, in and out. The hunters chicken was excellent. Gorgeous chips ad sweet potato fries.

Main course - Sunday roast, lukewarm at best. Roast potatoes had a passing acquaintance with the oven (in fact one was still raw in centre!) Waitress said all right things when she asked about food - just it was too late - she asked if she could rewarm or get us another portion - but as we'd eaten quickly to try and have warm (not hot) food ..... 🤷 By contrast crumble was piping hot. Would we give it a second chance .... possibly.

Came here during the bank holiday weekend, this pub a a very quaint pub in an absolutely amazing location close to the beach. The staff and so friendly and welcoming from the second you walk in. The green lodge offers an amazing food menu with a number of offers throughout the week! The food is freshly made and well presented, showing that the kitchen team have care and attention to the food they are sending out to customers. Simon was our server and he has amazing customer service, will be returning to the green lodge again after an amazing experience.

Couldn't make mum in laws birthday so I called and asked if they could put a drink on the table. Not only that they went above and beyond with a cake and even sang. It has made our day and mum's 75th. Thank you so so much they will be returning.
