The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in North East

This place is wonderful. We found it during a Google search and decided to risk it. I couldn't be more pleased with our decision. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. My son and I had the brunch bowl and my husband had the dhal. Then we each had a different vegan dessert. How often it is that you get a choice of vegan dessert? Often there's nothing at all. We visited at lunchtime and it was not busy. Don't miss this restaurant. It really is worth it.

Quite noisy and couldn't concentrate when I volunteered here and it got too much but staff are friendly.

I took a group of advanced motorcyclists to cafe 19 for breakfast. We were shown where to park when we arrived and greeted in an extremely warm and welcoming way. Food service was prompt and enjoyed by all of my colleagues. Thoroughly recommend this establishment .

Had a afternoon tea voucher to spend here, got a call to say they have sold the business and to come with the voucher and collect my afternoon as they finished at 4pm I asked the owner if I could just have my money returned of 25.00, he was really aggressive and said no I don’t what to give you the money, his wife just walked away and his daughter I think was having her say as well. I was disgusted with there attitude to me I have been in there numerous times, if anyone else has vouchers unused you have till 4pm today 27 nov to get your afternoon tea angry horrible people they are, hope they don’t have a good retirement

Used to come here all the time with my Mam before she sadly passed away 5 years ago , we used to come on a Saturday , since then to keep my Mams lovely memory alive i have been back on many occasions as this is not just a normal cafe it has a hidden secret - EXCEPTIONAL THAI FOOD , usually one dish a day and differs every day just look on the specials board , something like this is a hidden gem and the service is always fast and friendly , the owner wouldnt hold it against me if i said she was a bit loud lol but thats just her way - a very friendly soul and this place is very popular with locals and shopkeepers who order their Thai food as a Takeaway. I love Thai food at the best of time but to find a place that serves it at lunchtime is very very rare , and as i said the quality is superb , ive never been to Thailand but ive eaten in many posh Thai restaurants and the quality of food matches and beats all of them. Keep up the fantastic work to the owner and all your staff. See you soon.

A fabulous little gem of a café, serving excellent and inexpensive food, by owners who genuinely care about their people and their pets. So many cafes come and go in Washington, and many are ridiculously overrated... But CafeK9 is a place that I feel will be there for some time to come. It is unpretentious but unique in what it offers (meals and events for the dogs, for example), and nothing is too much trouble for these lovely people. CafeK9 is very much an underrated hidden gem, that needs to be found and enjoyed. You don't need to take your dog to appreciate the ambiance - but it helps if you like them!

Only called in for a drink but was pleasantly surprised the place is very small but comfortable, a large selection of beers and wine. After living in Spain for 10 years this is the closest you will get to the authentic Spain. Great staff knowledgeable and friendly will definitely be coming back.

I have both eaten here and just popped in for a latte . The staff and service are faultless and it is one of my favourite places to visit. Don’t be afraid of going on your own as the staff and the customers are very welcoming and friendly. The food is of the highest standard and the home baking is particularly tasty ,great value for money and a must to visit

Since it is half term i thought id treat the kids to a nice little cafe breakfast. The girls are really friendly, the cafe is clean and the choice of food on menu is perfect. It is all freshly cooked while you wait, the kids LOVED the little toy corner - the dolls house, kitchen and blackboard are a really nice touch and it kept the kids entertained while they waited. The wait was small, the kids really enjoyed their milshake and my breakfast was lovely. A really reasonable bill, fantastic and really kind service. We will be back after such a wonderful experience

After reading so many rave reviews, I couldn't resist a visit, and boy, was it worth the hype! As we stepped into the cozy restaurant, we were instantly charmed by its laid-back ambiance and the groovy tunes playing in the background. The intimate setting, with only six tables, makes booking in advance a must! We noticed a few couples walk in, hoping for a table, but they ended up grabbing seats at the bar. So, word to the wise: book ahead to avoid disappointment! On a chilly evening, the warmth of the restaurant felt like a loving embrace. And although they don't have an alcohol license, the 'bring your own booze' policy is a fun touch. We chose to keep it sober this time, in preparation for the upcoming holiday festivities. Wolfmann's menu, a delightful selection of Asian-inspired dishes, changes weekly, with some specials featured on a board above the bar. You can always sneak a peek at previous menus on their Facebook page to get a taste of what to expect. The friendly staff welcomed us with open arms and promptly took our drink orders while we ogled the mouthwatering menu options. After much debate (and the desire to order everything), I settled on the salt and pepper Tofu with a side of spring rolls. My better half couldn't resist the roast belly pork, accompanied by a generous serving of salt and chilli fries. To our delight, the service was impressively swift, and our food arrived in just 20 minutes! The Tofu was a symphony of flavors and textures, with tender pieces perfectly seasoned and paired with a vibrant mix of fresh greens. The spring rolls were crispy, succulent, and packed with a punch, thanks to the spicy dipping sauce. My wife's roast belly pork was a showstopper, boasting crispy crackling atop melt-in-your-mouth pork, served on a bed of tangy pickled cabbage. The salt and chilli fries were the perfect sidekick, adding a spicy kick and satisfying crunch. In conclusion, our experience at Wolfmann's Eating House was nothing short of spectacular. The combination of a relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff, and, most importantly, divine Asian-inspired dishes make this spot a must-visit in South Shields. Excellent choice of real ales, e.g. White Rat and Blonde Star, on the downside music was too loud for a catch up. Definitely recommend.

If you want a quick bite without other facilities this small place is the answer. Great sandwiches and good coffee.

Reservamos el Empress Bar como una de las paradas para nuestra noche de despedida de soltera. Originalmente reservamos por 90 minutos con la intención de seguir adelante después de eso, pero terminamos quedándonos como el servicio y el ambiente era brillante. Llegamos unos 30 minutos tarde debido a que nuestra reserva anterior se atropelló y Empress Bar sostuvo nuestras mesas. Nos proporcionaron nuestra propia pequeña área privada que era brillante para un gran grupo, ya que significaba que todos podíamos estar juntos y ser aplastados en una multitud. Nos atendió una señora encantadora (no me di cuenta de su nombre) pero tenía el pelo oscuro con mechas azules en - ella era increíble! Nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos e incluso localizó un teléfono que uno de nuestra fiesta había perdido! Honestamente este bar era brillante y sin duda volvería a ir cuando en Newcastle.
