Empress Bar in Newcastle upon Tyne

Reservamos el Empress Bar como una de las paradas para nuestra noche de despedida de soltera. Originalmente reservamos por 90 minutos con la intención de seguir adelante después de eso, pero terminamos quedándonos como el servicio y el ambiente era brillante. Llegamos unos 30 minutos tarde debido a que nuestra reserva anterior se atropelló y Empress Bar sostuvo nuestras mesas. Nos proporcionaron nuestra propia pequeña área privada que era brillante para un gran grupo, ya que significaba que todos podíamos estar juntos y ser aplastados en una multitud. Nos atendió una señora encantadora (no me di cuenta de su nombre) pero tenía el pelo oscuro con mechas azules en - ella era increíble! Nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos e incluso localizó un teléfono que uno de nuestra fiesta había perdido! Honestamente este bar era brillante y sin duda volvería a ir cuando en Newcastle.

We had a great night here, wasn't any need to go anywhere were else. The music was great, the drinks were fantastic, and the prices made them even better. The staff were really pleasant, and have been on the few visits I've made. The overall atmosphere was really nice too. There are only 2 points that caused the rating of 4. - One of the bar tenders was obviously new and took quite a while to make drinks - I am against having people selling a service in the bathroom. Especially when they block the sinks making it impossible to wash your hands for free. Which causes some people not to bother. And it's even worse when there isn't much space in the 1st place. All in all though, what a really great place to go for some old skool tunes, and great cocktails at even better prices.

Best bar in town..staff are great, DJ is unreal and the management and door staff make you feel welcome. Keep up the great work look forward to seeing you soon.

The empress has got a new emperor and his name is jack. He’s only been working here 4 weeks and he has changed the vibe and experience of an evening spend drinking in the beer garden. The fire and fairy lights and a welcome touch. This place is a hidden gem.

Walking around this part of town my twin brother Stephen and I decided to drop into this bar as the outside seating area looked so inviting. I must say that this is a cool looking bar,the interior is superb, eclectic decor and furnishings, a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Side . We were here on a Thursday late evening, we got beers and sat outside, beers were first rate,light, hoppy and freezing cold, it was just so good being in such a lovely bar enjoying a quality brew, its not hard to see why this bar is so popular with beers served in this good a condition. We really enjoyed our beers in here, only stayed for the one each before moving on and for a first time visit to Empress Bar we were totally impressed. Empress Bar is easy to locate on Side. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 7pm till 2am. Friday, 5pm till 3am. Saturday, 1pm till 3am. Sunday, 7pm till 2am. Most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.
