Caffe Piazza doesn't exist anymore, it is now called THE PIG IN MUCK, and it's a great place for a visit

Pretty poor cafe, unfortunately. Staff were friendly but that’s it. Shame since you have that lovely garden and it would be an ideal spot to finish a trip for a coffee and lunch after the poison gardens but the value and quality was not there. Also, very poor pricing for plainly made plastic bagged breadcake sarnies. There’s cost of living and then there’s just daft pricing.

We chose this for a quality Sunday lunch because of experience a few years ago and were very disappointed. It had been remodelled and was set to attract pub clients. Service was quick but fairly offhand. We both had Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with seasonal. Vegetables. It was served on an oval plate that was too small . The ‘pile’ of beef on one side swimming in gravy, and a huge globe shaped Yorkshire pudding on the other side. The sirloin was thinly sliced and piled up, the Yorkshire pud was overcooked hard and almost burnt. The veggies were delivered in two dishes and there was no room for them on the plate. It was difficult to cut the Yorkshire pud and thr beef which was sliding around the plate on the gravy. Altogether a full meal ruined by very poor presentation. On complaining to the waitress, she said she would tell the manager. Another male waiter eventually asked if everything was OK and we said not telling him why. The gist of his reply was that it was our fault and we should have ordered a child’s portion; take it or leave it. There was no apology. The front door was open and there was a cold draught drifting through. We will not eat there again. There are far better places to eat in Bamburgh.

I was there with a group of six. A wonderful place to stay, drink and eat. There are some odd reviews below that the owner was grumpy or miserable, which aren't true at all and we can assume those who have commented on such things have rigid standards of social norms that they think apply everywhere. Yes the owner doesn't smile. But he was pleasant, courteous, and checked in on us to make sure we were ok. He welcomed us warmly when we arrived in the cold, made sure we got to our rooms ok and made sure we were looked after. For lunch I had a lovely warm bowl of homemade tomato soup and a nice cheese and ham sandwich, it was very homely. For dinner I had fish and chips, a classic, and it was nicely beer battered. In the morning I had an English breakfast and again was well prepared. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The owner also directed us on what we could see on the island during the winter season. Again, a lovely place with lovely staff. Would recommend.

Called in this morning Sunday 26/01/25 during a walk with my dog. I was greeted by the young lady behind the counter informing me “sorry we don’t allow dogs in this store. I’m a regular visitor to Starbucks in Richmond Surrey which has no problem with dogs. The store this morning had one person sitting with a laptop and one waiting. Sited in this sort of area it’s a very disappointing decision. BTW I didnt see a sign outside informing me of this rule I did look but might have missed it.

Appalling service, takes at least 20 minutes to get your drinks as staff prioritise drive through customers. Staff have no customer care skills and are on a go slow. Avoid the place!

Unclean, only one loo for a place this size is ridiculous. Avoid this Starbucks in Winter as you will definitely pick up nasty bugs.
