Best coffee in Durham! Really friendly staff, is a must visit for anyone.

Aunque este café está en Durham, en realidad está situado en el encantador pueblo de Lanchester, que está cerca. Serendipity es un café sencillo en el centro del pueblo y sirve la gama esperada de comidas y aperitivos calientes y fríos, y aunque solo estábamos aquí para tomar un café, debo decir que la comida se veía muy bien. Nuestros cafés también eran muy buenos, al igual que el servicio.

Got hot chocolates for takeout and they were amazing!! Lovely staff and the cakes looked so good too!

I went to Jumping Bean last week in a group of 4 and we ordered the Nachos, Currywurst Hot Dog, Stacked Burger and Texas Burger. All mains were delicious and everything was devoured in no time, even by my sceptical meat-eating friends who were very pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be returning for some more moreish vegan fast food!

It is a super cosy and friendly pub with real fireplaces and unique, wooden barrel beer on draft (probably the only place in Durham if you fancy trying such a specialty beer).

I popped in to here with friends for lunch. The place wasn't overly busy but appeared to be very understaffed. There appeared to be one person serving at the bar with no acknowledgement of anyone wishing to order food, looking at the app which you have to download it came up that they were busy and couldn't accept any more food orders. No one engaged at all with us. We left. All in all appalling service and we won't be back. The lady behind the bar was working her socks off though and was clearly doing her best.

Great beer, fantastic staff. Really enjoyed our visit! Food was very good and value for money.

Very nice boozer, didn't eat. Good beer. Overpriced by about a quid and a half per pint, but beer was well handled and tasty and furniture and atmosphere top notch. Students get 25% off.

Another excellent meal in great surroundings. Great service and excellent Sunday dinner. Lamb and beef superb. Nice beer too. And thanks for squeezing an extra member of the party in at last moment.

Todo aquí es terrible. Reserva: Traté de reservar una mesa para una cena de despedida con amigos. Tuve que llamar 4 veces y siempre recibí un contestador automático y ninguna confirmación. Finalmente pude reservar una mesa a través del número de teléfono general de la cadena de franquicias de la que forman parte, pero a la llegada nos colocaron en la zona del bar en lugar del restaurante, a pesar de que el restaurante estaba vacío. Ante la queja, nos dieron una mesa alta en el borde del restaurante, mientras que toda la noche la mitad del restaurante permaneció vacío, así que no hay razón para no darnos una mesa adecuada. Comida: tuvimos que esperar 40 minutos para nuestros entrantes; durante ese período, no salió ninguna otra comida de la cocina, y el restaurante solo tenía un grupo de aproximadamente 15 personas, que ya habían comido - ¿estuvo el chef en un descanso? Mi amigo tenía el camembert horneado, que era literalmente un camembert tesco entero puesto en el microondas - no estaba empanado, no estaba sazonado, solo en el microondas en su recipiente de madera! Mi otro amigo y yo comimos una ensalada vegana, que no era ensalada en absoluto, sino una especie de puré de calabaza con mini zanahorias - era tan pequeño, que apenas se podía ver llegar. Tuvimos que levantarnos para encontrar un miembro del personal porque nuestro cuarto abridor nunca llegó. Luego tuvimos otros 45 minutos de espera para nuestra red, que eran igualmente abrumadores: las patatas fritas en el pescado y las patatas fritas estaban mal cocidas (¿quién no puede freír patatas fritas? ? ) , mi risotto era tibio y poco -sazonado con hongos no reconocibles y algunos trozos de faisán seco en la parte superior, que eran tan pequeños, que uno no reconocería esto como un plato de faisán. Mi amiga tenía ñoquis y su plato era tan pequeño, que podría haber sido un entrante. Debido a la mala calidad de la comida, nos abstuvimos de ordenar desiertos. Servicio: ausente y desinteresado. Y finalmente, alrededor de las 9 de la noche comenzó la 'música en vivo', que era tan fuerte que tuvimos que movernos a la zona del bar para poder escucharnos. Visited Durham recently and ate here twice. Excellent food and tremendous value unlike most other eateries. Well worth a visit.

One of the few places in Durham that serves actual bubble tea made with real fruit and fruit juice rather than using sugary syrups. Always has a delicious set of drinks and is the sister shop to the one in Newcastle. Only important thing to note is that it is CASH ONLY for payments under 10 pounds. If you know the lady well she can sometimes let you off but it is important to remember if just buying a drink for yourself. They are also quite pricey - though personally the genuine fruit makes it worth it as a treat!

After choosing our venue, let’s face it, it’s simply a great location. We entered the establishment and were greeted by friendly, smiley staff who gave lots of options of where to sit. This place is a rabbit warren, at every turn you see another room that’s quirky and beautifully presented. Such fun decor. The toilets are the same except that the toilet seats are way too small for the toilets 🚽. Minor detail, but you know what they say, the devil is in the detail. We had drinks and food. Food was okay, as were the drinks. My friends weren’t overly keen on the gap as food reached the table. I’d ordered my food earlier so that wasn’t a problem. But my 3 friends ate theirs one at a time. As one finished their plate of food another meal arrived. So as it turned out, no one ate at the same time. But hey ho, never mind. Small issues. The lady who worked the upstairs bar and served us food was lovely. Such a nice girl. Big shout out for her. Sorry, we didn’t catch your name. But we came in at 1pm and left around 4:30 -.24thJuly. so you must know who you are.
