Very quiet @ 10.50am. Only me in. Bits of paper on the floor that could have easily picked up. Although lots of places to eat in durham i hadnt been here before. Ordered a diet coke and corned beef toastie. Service was pleasant toastie was tasty the diet coke was from a bottle and tasted kind of strange and very flat at £1.70 was very over priced. Thought it was quite pricey for what i got. Wont visit again

. . . . . . Sin duda nunca volveremos a este lugar.

Whispers Coffee Lounge is tucked away in a courtyard off North Road (near the bus station) so takes a bit of finding. If you are at this end of town it is a place I recommend looking for if you are wanting coffee and casual food. It serves a 'basic' cafe menu including some main meals. The scones were fine and prices fair. It is clean and service is welcoming and efficient. It is also in a quiet location - off the busy North road.

While Christmas Shopping called in Whispers cafe for lunch. Hubby had large beaf dinner . He ate the lot. I had small pork dinner. Very good just right for a cold day out shopping. Finished off with a pot of tea. I would deffo recommend this cafe just off North road In a small court yard near the Bus Station. This is the second time we visited this cafe last time we had the special mince and dumplings yummy.

Quiet courtyard cafe tucked away from the bustle of the city. We had been looking for somewhere nice to sit down and have cake and coffee. The cakes were ok and coffee was good but prices were a bit higher than expected. There was plenty of room and tables to sit outside would be nice.

Tucked away just off North Road, this is a handy refuge for shoppers in need of revival or friends just meeting to catch up in friendly atmosphere. No frills but clean & tidy with very pleasant, really helpful staff. Roast lunches are tasty and very good value. Nice cakes and scones. Some tables outside in courtyard as well.

I try and visit Durham every few months and Whispers is always my first port of call for either breakfast, lunch or tea.Whispers is situated in a quiet courtyard off the main high street and there's both inside and outside seating. The staff are always friendly and attentive and there's quite an extensive menu which includes full English breakfast, hot chicken sandwich, scones and my favourite hot chocolate fudge cake with cream! I also like their milky coffee. Reasonable prices too,and I'd recommend Whispers to anyone.

I regularly visit Whispers in Durham. It is situated in a small yard not far from Durham Bus station. The food is very good and reasonably priced. The menu ranges from roast dinners and broth to pies and cakes. The staff are very friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend Whispers to anyone wanting a good cup of tea or a home cooked meal.

This coffee lounge is set back from the main thoroughfare of North Road. It was spacious, clean and tidy. The staff were excellent, attentive, pleasant and friendly. Very reasonably priced food and drinks for being so close to the city centre. Daily specials board and quite an extensive menu. I had a latte and bacon sandwich which was hot and tasty. I will certainly be visiting here again next time I am out shopping and maybe I will have lunch as the meals looked delicious.

i was recommended to try Whispers and was not disappointed. The waitresses are knowledgeable about their menu and ask the right questions to ensure the diner gets just what they want. Many of the customers seem to be families or from an older age group and the menu reflects this. The busy atmosphere and number of regular diners shows that it is a popular venue. The food is tasty and freshly cooked with very fresh salad accompaniment. The cafe is tucked away in a courtyard off North Road and is worth a visit.

visited Durham and went to a charming café/restaurant. staff unbelievable friendly, polite, and helpful i ordered the beef dinner and the wife had a bowl of homemade broth. my dinner was served with creamed potato carrots, turnip, peas, and delicious gravy. broth was in a big bowl served with garlic, French, or English bread. just the job on a really cold day. what can I say apart from both meals were hot and extremely appertizing. followed by pot of hot real tea. the this was served by very pleasant and polite staff. well done Whispers it was a real pleasureto visit and we will certainly visit again.
