Impeccable pub/restaurant. We had a lovely meal here.

Fantastic rooms, food was amazing and the whole place was top.

Lack lustre afternoon tea and disinterested staff.We were never asked whether everything was ok and were never welcomed in or acknowledged on way out.

Significant family birthday service was first class, food excellent, can not recommend The Impeccable pig high enough. Well done to all.

We have visited many times and just keeping coming back! We stayed last night the room was stunning the staff were friendly! We had our evening meal and the belly pork main was to die for! Hats off to the chef's. Service was fantastic shaunna our waitress for the night was tentive and amazing at her job! So warm and friendly! Breakfast was also a delicious. We will be back again soon!

We were getting married just down the road from this hotel, so booked the private dining room the night before the wedding for 20 of us, then booked a number of rooms for the Friday night as well as the Squaelers Suite for 3 nights. Everything about the weekend was fantastic. The hotel rooms were brilliant. But the main thing was the staff that attended to us Saturday night and throughout Sunday were absolutely amazing. The team that were working the Saturday night and through the Sunday morning/afternoon are a credit to The Impeccable Pig. They couldn't of done enough for us and were just lovely people! I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone! Thank You!

Never before have we enjoyed a Sunday Lunch quite like this. For starters, the smoked salmon melted in my mouth. My partner’s beetroot salad was delicious and the father’s prawn cocktail was “scrumptious” in his words. The main courses were generous, quick and beautifully presented. The pork belly was really good (not too fatty) with a generous portion of crackling. The chicken breast was very nice and the steaks were cooked to perfection. A special mention to the chips which were crisp and one suggested piece of advice is to crisp up the Yorkshire Puddings. The Virgin Mary’s were nice and spicy. As a veteran of the drink I can say it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Overall we would recommend this for a lovely Sunday lunch in Sedgefield.

Just had Sunday lunch here for the first time after having an amazing afternoon tea a couple of weeks ago. I’m always fairly critical of a restaurant/pub Sunday roast as I make a pretty good one myself (or so I’ve been told!) - but I was treat today for my birthday. I can honestly say it was the BEST Sunday lunch I have ever tasted! We were a party of 4 and tried the gammon, beef, belly pork and steak & chips - every dish was cooked to perfection and tasted so good! Service was quick and professional but not over the top. Decor and surroundings are superb. All the staff were lovely, honestly couldn’t fault a bit of it! Keep up the great work!

Service was poor. It was 40 minutes before our order was took. I ordered fish and chips. When the food finally arrived, the fish was over cooked and the chips were dry. I have visited this pub/restaurant numerous times since it’s reopening and it has unfortunately gotten progressively worse. Originally this restaurants food was worthy of their pricing (expect >£6 per pint, £18-25 for a single main course) although now it is disappointingly not. I hope to try this restaurant again in several months and change my mind.

Lovely venue. Nice margarita cocktails. Unfortunately the service was very slow, order arrived incorrect. When mentioned they returned with only half of the missing order. Sides came way after meals were served. Prawn pil pil starter was the same price as a main £15 and was only 6 prawns and a price of toast. The bear burger was very dry and over cooked on the outside. We had high expectations of the restaurant leaving us disappointed. We wouldn't have food here again and wouldn't recommend it to others.

Absolutely amazing accommodation. We stayed in The Red Pig suite. Stunning and unique. The staff weee very attentive and polite. We had a family meal and the food was delicious. Really tasty and well presented. Breakfast was equally delicious. Home made with fresh produce. 10 out of 10.

I was given a voucher as a leaving gift and decided to book for dinner with my boyfriend. I don’t think the quality of the food reflects the high prices and the menu is nothing to get excited about. I wouldn’t rush back or recommend to friends. Having said that, the staff were polite & friendly and the food came out timely despite being a busy night. The tables are far too close together so you feel like you are dining with the people sat next to you! Decor nice

Worst food I've had in a long time, pizza was tasteless, had to spit out what tasted like raw chicken grissle, absolutely disgusting. The kitchen staff were shouting and messing about, so loud that everyone was looking and commenting, don't be fooled by the posh decor, literally tastier pizzas at Iceland! Totally ripped off!

Went as a celebration after graduation as we know this place is well talked about. Unfortunately, we felt food was quite average, haddock was quite plain, pizzas are on a focaccia base and aren’t anything special. Service was very slow, it wasn’t very busy and still took over 2 hours to have a main meal and a dessert each. For the 6 of us the bill was well over £200+. I feel like you could definitely have a better experience for a lot less money. Not rushing back.

We hosted some business visitors here on 23rd May and I can not thank you enough from booking through to the service everything was fantastic and I would like to especially thank the servers of the our tables who went above and beyond and were absolutely professional and friendly despite the late start and having to serve a large party of people. I will be definitely be visiting again

Just had dinner. Slow service, but it was a Friday night. But shocked that the chefs substituted a potato fishcake ball for an arancini ball without any warning in my wife’s meal, because apparently they had run out of arancini balls. Fortunately wifey wasn’t allergic to fish or whatever, but astounded that they would do this anyway without warning. Don’t think we will be back, tbh. Nice decor though.

Birthday lunch in the function room upstairs . Lovely setting and decor , very pleasant staff . The food though was disappointing , watery tasteless soup and cold mains which had to go back to be reheated . When you’re spending over 500 pounds on a family meal it was average to say the least .

From start to finish an all round fantastic experience. The staff were all friendly and professional. The pub and room decor was very tastefully done and inspired. Also everywhere felt really clean. The Sunday dinner was 5 star and so was the breakfast. We came on recommendation and met all our expectations. We didn’t explore much of the surroundings as we felt the venue had everything that we would want from an Overnight stay. Great pub, great restaurant and a great room. This is a lovely place for couples to enjoy a relaxing and romantic stay. Will definitely be making a return visit.

Another 10/10 stay at impeccable pig and our third stay of the year. This time we decided to try one of the master suites and was not disappointed everything is high quality and we had a really comfortable relaxing stay. The food was great again and the staff are always happy and friendly starting with Aaron (I think) who’s always got time for people and a young waitress Ava who we’ve met a couple of times now and is always friendly and makes an effort with us. Looking forward to our next visit whenever that might be and thanks again for a lovely experience.

I visited on Friday afternoon with a friend and my newborn baby. Amazing food. The Mac and Cheese was really good. We chose the two course menu which was very reasonably priced. Amazing decor. Will definitely return again soon.

Return visit for excellent food in fabulous surroundings. We have eaten here before so we know what to expect. Ate off the lunch menu and could only manage two of the three course options. Food excellent quality as always.

I wanted to love the Impeccable Pig but it's just not quite there. Some great positives. Lovely stylish interior. Chilled bar with nice atmosphere, drinks good. Staff all friendly. Restaurant, average! Service pleasant but slow. Food OK! A mozarella, truffle, honey salad that sadly has never seen the honey or the truffle. Bland and unappetising (also maybe use Buratta instead). Poor vegetarian options, especially on the Sunday menu - burger - again only average , not very imaginative and rather disappointing - we still all love a Sunday dinner. Had also run out of lots of things :/ We had a nice night, would return for drinks. Enjoyed the feel of the place but not sure would come back for food.

Booked room number one and can honestly say we were very underwhelmed on arrival and a bit disappointed on first viewing, the rooms are big and have a very distinctive decor which has been fabulous at one time but we had a feeling the place is now grubby and in need of a good deep clean, no little treats on arrival and the only thing you get is 2 bottles of water everything else in the room is chargeable, the tv reception was terrible and the bed side cabinets had a missing door handle and a slack door handle, there’s also obvious signs of mould around the shower tray, it’s simply not up to the standard of the cost they charge, the staff are absolutely fantastic and the restaurant and bar area are stunning, the breakfast and evening meal were both excellent and would recommend eating and drinking here, we’ve reviewed how we honestly feel and when driving away we actually said what did we actually get for nearly £1000 ? (2 night DBB deal)

Me and my partner came in on our second visit here, we previously stayed in the hotel which was not great and is not worth the money at all. No privacy at all, other rooms right next door and on top. South Causey is much more secluded for similar rooms/price. However the food was great. So we came back for Sunday dinner, had a reservation for two of us at 3:30, we arrive and we’re told the table isn’t ready and we were asked to wait 10 minutes, no problem. Then we notice there’s a party of two behind us also booked in for 3:30 who sit straight down? Then an additional party of two also booked in for 3:30 got seated immediately. After 10 minutes we were told it would be another 5. Eventually we were sat at 4 o’clock and we waited and waited to be acknowledged. The table next to us had ordered their starters, finished them and had mains delivered in the time it took for us to get our drinks order took. Drinks were fantastic, food arrived really quick and there is 0 faults with the kitchen and bar. Again we wait and wait to have our plates taken away and offered desserts, eventually our desserts come and the young server apologised for waiting time which was unnecessary but I appreciate it, the issue wasn’t with the young front of house runners, it was with the mangers that were floating. They float around the restaurant and pick up on any unnoticed tables, remove plates offer desserts etc. both front of house mangers repeatedly floated around us but didn’t acknowledge us? To finish off a less than desirable evening they completely messed up my bill. Attempting to charge nearly £85 instead of £55? A small apology from the front of house manager and again we waited and waited, you’d think they didn’t want my money. I hate to say it but there was an underlying issue with us it seemed, whether that was due to our age? Being the only young couple there? Or due to us being a mixed race couple but the managers had no interest in us at all. From someone that’s worked in hospitality their whole career, unfortunately these backward mindset can still exist in the industry.

Overnight stay in the three little pigs room was a surprise from my partner recommended by a work colleague of his and what an absolute gem of a hotel it is, we had a 3 course Sunday lunch(delicious and faultless) and breakfast(again delicious and faultless) included in the price and I can’t fault anything. The room was delightful from opening the door, I’ve never seen anything like it, the names of the all rooms are quirky and fun, and made me chuckle. It would have been rude not to use the rotunda bath during our stay as I love a good soak, the little toiletries were a nice touch. The bed you could get lost in it was so big and was so comfortable I didn’t want to get out of it in the morning.

A family lunch for four and a baby. We were greeted on our arrival, the restaurant is nicely decorated, spacious and well lit. Our server was personable & attentive. We were given a high chair for our 9 month old granddaughter. Food was excellent with just the right break in between courses. We will certainly visit again.

My husband and I have always wanted to come here after seeing so many beautiful pictures of the rooms on Instagram, so following our wedding we booked a room here. We stayed in “Squealers” the recently opened master suite. On arrival the room was sensational, after closer inspection though not so much. The price of our stay was just short of £500 for one night, and finishing touches for that price point were missing in abundance. Coffee sachets provided (two Nescafé sachets) were more of something we would expect at the ibis or other low price point hotel. As the room is located at the front of the pub it was extremely noisy when people were leaving the pub and we did not get to sleep until after midnight. There is no double glazing in the windows. The rooms at the back of the pub I imagine to not have this problem, but given the most expensive rooms are at the front you would expect this to be soundproofed even slightly (again for the price point) We went to dinner, I was told the vegan option I had asked for had “ran out”. The young girl was very lovely but did not provide an alternative until my husband requested they make something off the menu as the only other option for me was onion soup. I did get a vegan gnocci, it was okay. No vegan dessert on the menu. Interestingly, the menu also stated they are unable to cater fully to allergies due to cross contamination which in my opinion is quite lazy and concerning. I keep going back to the price but we often stay in 5* hotels for this price and it is so far away in quality of service in comparison. The room was clean, but the carpets were dirty, there was dust and some other areas that required attention. The hallway up to our room smelt really bad. We noticed dehumidifiers on the window sill so I assume this is an attempt to rectify the smell. Is this what I expect from £485 a night.. Absolutely not. Breakfast - we were first down, offered coffee. It came from a jug that had been pre made, luke warm. My husband had a full English and found it to be average at best (fatty bacon, grey sausage, requested toast did not arrive) Again, the young boy who served us was very lovely and dealt with our check out, we told him some of what we felt was lacking and he apologised. Unfortunately we would would not return, and would not recommend this venue for others. The absolute basics weren’t met and surely, the one thing that should be available without having to request it is fresh coffee?! The decor is amazing, the idea is great, but I would suggest the management of this establishment spend some time in hotels of the same price point and see what others do to justify such expense.

If I could give a minus I would, cold food, tiny amount of vegetables for a table of 7. Dirty water jugs, very disappointing if I wanted cold food I would order a salad not Sunday Lunch. The place itself was cold. The serving staff were pleasant enough but no sign of a supervisor or manager to deal with the complaint. Did get a small reduction in price so they must have been aware of the complaint. Will not be going back again. They can’t even be bothered to answer my emails hence this review. Which says a lot! Be warned!

Lovely looking restaurant. We had a table of 8 of us for a meal. The staff were lovely and fairly attentive, however they need to start writing orders down 😂 One order we received a drink we didn't order(was still on the bill at the end) another drinks order all but one drink arrived, but it took several asks and another 30 mins before it turned up. Requested Garlic Mayo, this never turned up but charged on the bill. Most of the food was good, we shared the camembert which was nice, however the pigs in blankets had no flavour other than oil which was disappointing. Pies went down a storm for mains, I opted for the Impeccable Pig pizza, which tasted alright but smelt like petrol weirdly, also would have been better with the aforementioned Garlic Mayo. Desserts were nice. I'd say it was reasonably priced too. Would I return? Probably but not in a hurry.

My friend and I visited this restaurant before attending a local festival. We didn't want anything heavy and so we each plumped for the starter Caprese salad. I've still to check if there was a mozarella and tomato shortage in Sedgwick that day, but I'd say it is a pretty safe bet. Between both our plates not even a half tomato was used and the tomato was cut so thin, you'd be forgiven for thinking it was a pattern on the plate. A few scraps of Mozarella had been jauntily thrown on top with some sprigs of parsley garnishing it - not a bit of basil in sight. At £8, we essentially paid £4 per bite and had to witness the horror of the waitress placing it in front of us and looking absolutely mortified. The saving grace was the beauty of the restaurant. Utterly instagrammable, gorgeous loos and a pleasant staff. Just such a shame that we visited during the great tomato and Mozarella shortage of 2023.

The most wonderful, relaxing and romantic stay. Bed was amazing, staff were friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Food was spectacular and facilities second to none. A truly spectacular (and much needed) relaxing stay - will be booking again and soon.
