What a surprise to find Magee Street Bakery. Recommended by the folk at Crockett & Jones shoes (just down the street) I have returned each time I go to Northampton. Good coffee and a great sandwich. I wish we had a place like this near us (in South East London). Really, really, good and a total surprise to find tucked away in a back street of Northampton.

They took no notice of my review before, in fact used it as a chance to advertise, so I'll say again (after trying a few) - yummier cakes, please. They are pretty much as worthy as they look, not a treat. People in England don't generally go around complaining to your face so saying nobody has complained means nothing. Very nice place to be, particularly upstairs; very light and airy. Coffee is fine.

I go here most months when I get the chance to! I used to work in the town centre so I’d go so much more. It’s the only thing I miss about not working in the town centre anymore. Great coffee, food is delicious!! I recommend to everyone I can, I take my nan here a lot, she loves it. More family members I go there with. Such lovely people and great service. Couldn’t recommend enough.

What a lovely surprise this place was. Stylish decor, excellent drinks and cocktails, knowledgeable and friendly staff and great food. Wouldn't be out of place in the posher areas of London. It was rather noisy when I attended due to some boisterous guests, but they were clearly very happy too! Well worth a visit if you want something a bit more special than a pub or regular restaurant.

Usually I only ever see this place when it's crowded - on Northampton Saints match days. However, busy or not, it's a delightful place with friendly service and the best beer in town - Phipps IPA. A proper pub.

i visited this cafe on a sunday. and purchased 2 bacon and egg baps which i found to be cooked very well. i also had 2 cappuccinos which was also very nice. i was served by two very friendly and helpful lady members of staff, and went the extra mile even though it seemed extra busy . i was offered a loyalty card which took me by surprise as i wouldn't have expected for this type of establishment.would come back for sure when passing .

I met my amazing husband at the Melbourne Arms on a cold night in October 1993. We went back for our 30th anniversary drink recently & it was such a delight! Lovely friendly bar staff, & great atmosphere. A perfect locals pub & we will be returning very soon.

Although I walk past here several times a week, this was my first visit inside, and I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and enthusiastic welcome. I had an early light lunch of a tuna and sweetcorn sandwich plus a coffee, at a very reasonable price. I will most certainly be making.a return visit.

Moved to the area 18 months ago , this place has a brilliant decor interior, I am really impressed But not enough advertising about this venue. A week next saturday ,10th August, is Enzo a singer , guitarist it is free to get in ( the drinks are very reasonably priced) but the first I heard about it was today , Sunday 28th July .See their Facebook page for more information...guys you really to start a website. They have live acts about once a month , there is an onsite restaurant doing meals on a Thursday,Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 10pm also breakfast is served at the weekend from 9am to noon.Monday nights there is bingo , eyes down at 8pm so get your books by 7.30pm, I understand that your book price includes a free raffle.Sky Sports are in the bar , there is a pool table and dart board, it also has an outside drinking area I would class more as a terrace then a garden, but very nice.Opening times are "unconventional" and a little hap hazard;Monday 5pm to 10pm , Tuesday closed , Wednesday and Thursday 5pm to 11pm ,Friday 5pm to midnight , Saturday noon to midnight and Sunday Noon to 10pm.It is a great place for the local comunity to get together. How about advertising what is going on a little earlier? advance information would be great , a designated eating area with set out tables would be a nice touch , how about Kareoke every now and then ( not me though, my singing is c**p)Finally my last suggestion, please all my comments are supposed to be constructive not criticle but a website is a must.Ther is also a room available upstairs for private functions with it's own bar and an outside terrace area and seperate wc's.
