Matchbox cafe in Northampton

I go here most months when I get the chance to! I used to work in the town centre so I’d go so much more. It’s the only thing I miss about not working in the town centre anymore. Great coffee, food is delicious!! I recommend to everyone I can, I take my nan here a lot, she loves it. More family members I go there with. Such lovely people and great service. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Lovely environment, great food, local produce, owner was able to tell us where we could purchase the bread. Very welcoming. Provided a high chair for my little one too. Somewhere warm, dry with great food just whats needed today.

Most enjoyable breakfast. Tasty, good quality ingredients and freshly cooked. Reasonably priced. Small inside but nicely kept and it adds character to the place. Thank you

I was working in Northampton and just passed this cafe. Tiny place but hit a table. Most delicious and enormous sandwich (toasted club) So big that I took half as takeaway and had it for dinner. Lovely staff and great sandwich. What’s not to love?

Really enjoyed the breakfasts we had. Cooked to perfection. The menu is rather limited now. Mainly just English breakfasts, paninis and jacket potatos, so not the best place if you'd looking for a wide variety of lunch options

Cracking all day breakfast good pot of tea at a very reasonable price, having said that I still looked on with envy at my mate's club sandwich.really friendly staff,I'd certainly recommend it to my friends.

We just recently moved to northampton and I think I have just found my favourite coffee place. Loved the coffee there, very aromatic and the staff is amazing ☕️

This amazing cafe continues to serve amazing food despite all the restrictions placed upon premises! The menu covers everything most people want and Bing will always accomodate requests, within reason! Try the daily specials, the mac and cheese is amazing, and Yasmin creates magical drinks... I'm working my way through them Sit in or take out, you won't be disappointed A house specialty is home made bread pudding Oh, and the portions are generous indeed! Great local cafe, serving great food and banter thrown in too if you want it....

A lovely, small cafe where you can really relax, sit down, read the papers or magazines they have there and enjoy their coffees, teas and Jasmin's lovely, creamy hot chocolate! Bing cooks all the food there fresh - everything is genuinely delicious, and Bing has some daily specials you would not expect from a cafe like Chicken Noodle Soup! His simple Toasted Halloumi Sandwich is a great simple lunch and the sour dough bread comes from the bakery in the church nearby - worth a visit if you are looking for a little oasis to relax in.

Beautiful lunch, very, very tasty, amazing quality, service superb and great value for money! Highly recommended!

This amazing cafe is so worth tracking down when you are in Northampton Fresh food, lovingly prepared, a great setting and quirky touches of decor Nothing is too much trouble Great service and even banter if you want that. Popped in after seeing a post on instagram. So glad we did. Standard cafe food with the addition of a specials board of homemade, fantastic food. Huge portions. Great prices. Clean. Supporting local artists too which is great to see. So nice to see more great independent businesses popping up. Seating is seriously limited so don't turn up with 20 people. Coffee is fantastic. If you are in Northampton at lunch time they are worth a visit. They also do Sunday lunch every other Sunday, with homemade pudding too 😍😍😍 starts at 12 and first come first served.

Visited for a Sunday morning breakfast, lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast (one vegetarian and one meat) and coffee both excellent and staff friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Where has the Matchbox Café been all my life? I fell in love with this place when my son and I stumbled across it earlier this week. Friendly & fast service and you can tailor your order to what you want / don't want. Really tasty food, well cooked and the place is spotless and reasonably priced. I can't recommend it highly enough, you feel like a customer from the moment you go in. I noticed a few people knew the staff so I'm guessing they get a lot of repeat business - always a good sign. I'll be back, Steven

My partner (a vegetarian) and I were on the lookout for somewhere to get a cooked breakfast in town and decided to try here. The food is lovely and cooked to order, with an amazing halloumi vegetarian breakfast. We will definitely be back!

we do not very often go into northampton town centre but today we did and decided to have our breakfast at the matchbox cafe and i must say what a lovely breakfast it was really liked the sausages would recommend it

Such a quaint little place to eat/drink. Customer service is provided to the best standard I've ever experienced.

This was the second visit to this hidden gem in the middle of Northampton and well worth seeking out, the food is fab quality and the owner couldn’t be more helpful . Food is freshly cooked to order and yes, you can get a cheaper bacon butty from Greggs around the corner but it’s no comparison . My only negative comment would be to bin the plastic forks you put in every bag , save you some money and do your bit for the planet. Other than that , no complaints . I will definitely be using again !

This cafe is small but very well set up, & the food is perfectly cooked & served at your table.. Bing & Yasmin make you feel very welcome & they have a comprehensive menu.. Well worth a visit..

Called here for a coffee and catch up with an old friend. Having walked past many times this was my first visit. Small and beautiful. Rustic and interesting Friendly and welcoming Well worth a visit and support to local business.

Super food and great host it’s small but boy do they know how to cook some great food. Bing the owner makes all feel welcome and breakfast for me and my wife plus our 18month old daughter for a tenner it’s a bargain of a place

Lovely cafe with friendly staff, modern clean environment and very tasty food. The monthly Sunday roast dinner was lovely. Gammon was so succulent and the portions sizes are great.

Jim & I love to do Saturday brunch at our local store. This morning 18.8.18 is our first visit to Matchbox & we are happy with our meals. Staff are friendly and other customers seem to be frequent patron as well. Food are freshly made. Only thing, it’s an open kitchen in a small shop, ventilation is a concern & Americano that I had is mild for my tastebud. 周六的早上我们喜欢到道地小店吃早午餐，用心的店员和现制现售的简餐，不错的选择……

Great cafe relaxing surroundings good value mini breakfast, filling and fresh. Would recommend this cafe the staff are always on hand to help.

Had a fantastic lunch with my daughter who is very fussy, even she couldn't fault the food or experience. The staff are very helpful and friendly, it was so relaxing in the Matchbox and very welcoming.

Super little cafe, just off the main high street.

Came here on opening day - great food and drinks, friendly and happy staff who can’t do enough for you, can’t wait to go back! Highly Reccomend!!!
