The best restaurants serving Mexican food in England

Great for a casual dinner and especially when you don’t have much time. There is a brilliant choice of delicious burritos that you get to choose the toppings/extra fillings for. A good value alternative to the usual fast food places with lovely people serving and a nice relaxed atmosphere. You can also have a beer with your meal here.

Friends brought us here for their repeat visit to L'Autre. I can understand why. It's a unique establishment. The name came from it's French inception but specializes in Polish cuisine and interestingly enough Mexican. Their are not a load of Mexican dishes on the menu but it is fun to mix sausage topped nachos (which were excellent), borscht, pate and pierogis together as a group share. This is an intimate restaurant that pays tribute to England but also the great contributions Poles have given to the country. A sombrero on the shelf harkens to the days when staff from the once nearby Mexican embassy used to frequent the restaurant and request things like, well sausage topped nachos. We had a lovely visit topped off by some of the many flavored vodkas offered. My friends by the way returned for a third meal here. The magic works.

Booked a table last minute after seeing the reviews. Have to say such a lovely place. Great food and atmosphere. Lovely staff was very welcoming. Would highly recommend.

Really good Mexican food, I have been in Mexico with my boyfriend and I have to say that although it is very difficult to find authentic Mexican food like in the place of origin, this restaurant offers quite decent options such as huarache or michoacan style carnitas

Very good burrito. Rammed full of ingredients. Tasted very good. Very messy to eat :). Would definitely come back again although I would probably give myself time to eat in without making a mess next time.

Incredible quasadilas, fast service and reasonable price

This spot is amazing, wonderful food, very friendly and helpful staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely recommend!

Outstanding food, everything was cooked to perfection and all of the ingredients tasted so fresh. Presentation was beautiful. Staff were very attentive and friendly. You couldn’t fault the price either, extremely reasonable. We will definitely be returning.

We ate out every day during our Center Parcs stay (Bella Italia, Hucks and Forsters Inn) and overall Las Iguanas was the best main meal (with the exception of Pancake House) but still not anything outstanding. Portion size was decent and the food tasted pretty nice, but it was fairly standard, nothing special. It was a bit on the expensive side but all the restaurants are there. The food was brought over by a little novelty machine which was very entertaining! The main downside of this restaurant is that there were long wait times to have our drinks/food order taken and an even longer wait time for someone to take payment when the restaurant wasn't exceptionally busy. The food itself didn't take too long to arrive, but we waited almost half an hour to be able to pay the bill.... There was also an added optional 7.5% service charge (which is applied at all restaurants across Center Parcs) which would have taken even longer to get this removed so we reluctantly paid this one as we just wanted to get going. There was one waitress working in there called Jess who was the only one who seemed to be doing any work, she was amazing and was tending to all the tables (about 6/7 in total) where as the other two waitresses (one that I believed might have been a manager as she was dressed in different uniform) just kept standing round at the tills not doing much and both of them went outside for half an hour separately, leaving Jess to do all the work... Even when we eventually managed to ask for our bill, the woman I believed to be manager gave our dirty plates to Jess to clear even though Jess was already doing so much. Jess was really lovely and seemed like a very hard worker so I would like to give credit to her.

So I’ve been here in person as well as ordered online. In person I had an issue with the kiosk to which the worker was clueless and just kept saying “erm” and “im not sure” “I don’t know”. When I Ordered through ‘just eat’ and waited 50 minutes for my order. When I called the restaurant, the worker again was simply clueless. There was little to no help. And after placing the order again and telling the worker I will be calling back for confirmation that they’re making my order, they then didn’t answer. After calling maybe 5 times. As well as that, the burritos and naked burritos come as very small portions when ordered online through delivery apps which in my opinion, takes the piss as they would not do this when it’s ordered in person.

Went with my wife and adult children and we had a great lunch. We ordered virtually everything on the menu and everything tasted great and we all had a different favourite. Huge shout out to the Mac N Cheese and the Birria Tacos were the best thing ever… one of our group is Veggie and I tried some of the veggie options and they were also great.. Moving onto the Beer 👍. Lots of choice and this is a craft Beer venue so lots to try. Also a selection of craft IPA’s and Cider and again we tried to try all of them but failed but the ones we tried again were excellent. Big shout out to the team as they were really attentive and the Barman especially was especially on the ball. It is possible to walk past this place and it does have a relaxed look and not a fine dining experience however I feel they nailed the atmosphere / decoration etc…. and I will certainly return and will highly recommend

Fantastic Mexican, best restaurant in New Romney, went for the Texas BBQ evening last Saturday, brisket, BBQ ribs, pork, pickles and sides served on a tray, so tasty, and a couple of Pina Colada cocktails, what's not to like, cant wait to return,

This is the third time we have ordered takeaway from here and it’s about time to post a review…this place is amazing, the food is out of this world and the service and delivery speed excellent. Thank you and we will be ordering again very soon!!!
