The best restaurants serving Mexican food in South East

Wonderful lunch here. A great little gem in a lovely location. Very friendly service and food was unreal. We ordered one of everything (it’s quite a small menu) and thoroughly enjoyed everything. Nachos and salsa was super fresh and the quesadilla and fish taco were unreal. The margaritas were also amazing! The place is pretty small and I imagine cold get busy but can’t recommend enough!

Went to this lovely restaurant last night. They were fully booked but I kept ringing on the day asking whether there were any cancellations which there fortunately was. Well decorated and a great atmosphere. There were 5 of us and every dish we ordered was excellent. The service was top notch and friendly and the lady owner was wonderful and kind. Would definitely return. This is a great restaurant that fully deserves it's status as no.1 on TripAdvisor.

Me and my boyfriend have been to Mexigo a few times and on every occasion the food has been amazing and the service was great. We always leave happy and we will continue to be returning customers

The food is fresh and great. However the portion size was ridiculous. The identity of chipotle is big portion size, but the portion was very small. I understand that the pricing will be higher than the us as it’s an american brand, but I at least expected for the portion to be the same. Disappointing

The red guacamole is lovely, BUT the tacos are out of this world! Would definitely recommend.

Went in for a cheeky cider (the selection was excellent!) and ended up being "trapped" there for lunch by the rain. The sandwiches were AMAZING, and generously portioned - we didn't really need the fries we got with it on the side, but thoroughly enjoyed them anyway

On the positive side I thought the food was lovely - perhaps not authentically Mexican but closer than the tex-mex served elsewhere. The restaurant has an interesting layout - we had booked ahead and had been allocated a table closely opposite a very wide female toilet door - if I were to return I would ask for a table in the main restaurant near the kitchen/service area and away from the toilets. The service was disappointing - a lot of staff but it was as though we were invisible - the first order of starters was forgotten and we were just left there for 10 minutes without anyone coming to check what we would like to order. Asking a passing waiter if we could have some more water for the table he looked at us and completely ignored us. As service charge of 12.5% was added to the bill I am guessing the staff don't feel they need to put in any effort as at the end of the day they still got £13 from our table for poor service. Yes I would visit Gordos again as I like the food - but I am disappointed I cannot give this restaurant a 5 star review.

We always have a great time here! Deans a really lovely bartender that not only indulgences us in excellent margaritas but when we bring our son he’ll make him fun coloured mocktails so he can join in with us. Food excellent and wait staff are great!

Returned today as a couple, in the past a group of 5 or more. I was disappointed with the chicken fajita stack. 4 small tortillas in the dish but only used 3 as there was minimal chicken meat and loads of peppers which I didn’t use. I had more in my Brazillian chicken starter. Myself and friends have been using Las Iguanas for a few years- this food portioning was very disappointing. Service was good .

Great place for drinks in the evening. Often a venue for live gigs.
