Mexigo in Southampton

A family member got a takeaway from here. He said it is magnificent!

I had one of their burritos (Clilly Steak), it was ok..The price list online should be upgraded!

I can’t get enough of their burritos! So delicious and quality is very consistent.

Rude staff including the manager. Only asked the waitress how long my order gonna take, she ignored me and when i asked again she said i don't know and can't check for. The manager backed her and waa told that I can cancel my order instead of checking how long it actually will take. Don't recommend and I will never visit again.

We come from Bournemouth just for a mexigo as they closed the Bournemouth one, best burritos for miles!

Lovely food, very busy. I had quesadilla & the rest of the family had burritos. All were excellent. I am going to try making burritos when I get home!

We walked in and were welcomed straight away by a lovely lady named Jo. We were after a light bite and Jo recommended the “Taquitos” which were incredible!! The food was made to order which was a lovely touch and meant it was piping hot when it arrived to the table. I can’t recommend this place enough and I’ve only come in for a snack. I’ll be back for certain to try their whole menu!

very good and very affordable food - you definitely get what you pay for, it's not the best Mexican place in southampton but it's definitely the best in terms of taste-price-amount of food ratio. only about £10pp for a pretty large potion of food.

Had an excellent burrito here. Fresh ingredients, with their independent flavours brought together - not overcooked and stale stuff squished into mushy paste like some places. The large burrito is a full meal in a tube, as it should be, it'll do you for the day. Yes please, and cake.

They always have fantastic food and excellent customer service! I was there last week and was served by a young vegan lady (Laura?) who was very friendly, as were the rest of the staff on shift. Food is always delicious with a great selection of veggie options :-)

100% the best Mexican food in Southampton. Every filling option is loaded with flavour and the salsa is properly made. The staff are also amazing, so friendly and welcoming; they even go so far as to ring you if something you've ordered via Deliveroo has run out - in my case, their cheese dip (which is seriously one of the best dips I've ever had) and they offered to send me a brownie instead. Have I not mentioned their brownies?? The salted caramel filled one will literally blow your mind. Amazing food, amazing flavours, amazing staff, amazing service - you won't be disappointed if you eat here.

Stopped in for a spot of lunch, tacos and cheesey nachos 😋 delicious and very filling. The staff were knowledgeable about my dietary needs. Told me exactly what I could and couldn't have.

Best food we had whilst down from Leeds to the south coast for a week. I’m always nervous on quality of meat at Mexican places in the UK following a few bad experiences with ‘Tortilla’ the chain. However I was really impressed with Mexigo! Staff very friendly. Very reasonable prices. Ordered day 1 via Deliveroo and came into shop the following day for more! I’ll be back for sure.

This place is my absolute go to. I'm yet to have a bad experience here and as bad as it sounds, traveling from Bournemouth just for a burrito. It is always so worth it here.

Went her about a week a go and been here many times before as well. The food is nice and tasty especially the shredded beef burrito bowl which is very tasty and reasonably priced for the portion size. There are lots of additional options to add to the bowl such as different salsas, sour cream and guacamole. This place has lots of good options to choose from and it never dissapoints..

Tacos are honestly my favourite food and I get them whenever they’re available and I had to say, this is the best place I’ve had so far and for £8 you get so much food!

Mexigo is a great Mexican restaurant - they have the buffet style so you watch them make your food and choose what goes in it and it is of really high quality. They also cater well for allergens and are really nice people to boot. You can't really ask for more.

First time here. They were super helpful and friendly. I got a burrito bowl and my family got burritos. So fresh and tasty!

Excellent food at affordable prices and the staff is great too. I ordered some burritos to eat in and one to take away and they recommended to make the take away one after we finished eating so it stays warm along with the cheese bites. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and the staff very professional and friendly. I would definitely go back there.

1st time at Mexigo, and excellent burrito, plenty of choices and really friendly welcoming staff. And the dirty chilli fries are a real winner Was also offered a free brownies which they are trying out and asked for feedback, well the Oero one was also excellent 10/10

Delicious Mexican with lots of choice including veggie options. 5 of us went in for a pre match meal. Fresh ingredients, super clean, great value, really friendly staff. We would highly recommend and we’ll be back for more!!

Really disappointing tonight, didn't get salsa and sour cream with my quesadillas that I ordered and the burrito was soggy and doughy. Not worth the cost and not the quality food I've had from here before.Not remotely, maybe time to get mexican somewhere else.

Best Mexican food in town! Great options, great taste!

Visited yesterday evening with my child who has coeliac disease. The gentleman who works there went out of his way to help us. He was so kind and knowledgeable. He knew all about 'may contain' and knew the fries wouldn't be any good for us as they are fried in the same oil as other things. Staff were happy to change gloves and use different serving utensils for us. Ended up having taco shells with rice and salad and toppings. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit again very soon!

The food here is excellent. Probably not very authentic Mexican but I don't think that is what they are going for. I've never had a bad meal and I've probably had over 20. Decent portions and well priced.

If someone is Eating in , Please deliver all Their order together , burritos etc are made as soon you order but the rest of it comes out whenever its ready and then one person is sat watching whilst the others eat and then your sides come out after youve finished , good food and prices and friendly staff though

Thank you so much to the lovely lovely girl with the two different colours in her hair who ran down the road to give us the wallet we left! I order from Mexigo at LEAST 4 times a month and they do the best burrito I have ever had. Make sure to get the hellfire hot sauce as that makes it 👌 Sooooooo yummy

This review is based on my experience on the day, and could be different for you, but I doubt it. I kept being told about a Burrito bar in Southampton and that I should try it. Well I attended today, with the friends who told me about this place, and have to say I had, up to this point never had a Burrito in my life. 😳Seen many programs showing them but never had I ever tried one. Followed what my friend did, and I got my burrito the way I wanted it to be. You walk in, you’re asked if you want a small or large (unsure if medium is available) burrito. Then your problems start, but in a nice way. So many main options it can be mind boggling until you get your head around it. The staff were fantastic after I chosen my main meat/rice of tomato rice and shredded beef. I then moved on to the extras, sauces, chose a mild sauce many salad options and it was then prepared for eating (folded) then wrapped in silver foil then payment. And I was ready to eat at the tables in the front part of the shop. Warning that prices vary dependent on the size and the meat you have as your filling. Mine with shredded beef with the rice and toppings I chose totaled £9.95. No complaints from me as the food was hot, tasty, held together by the silver foil, filling and worth every penny in my opinion. Pricing is no different to any local take away I suppose but the bigger the meat (to many to list hear, but from pulled meat to chunks of steaks ) you have the more expensive it is but it is filling and good value. If you are not a meat eater you could ask for a vegetarian burrito, made of rice and the vast vegetable additions. Cannot see that being an issue. You can do take away, eat in or delivery. They do other dishes which I did not even get to look at but I would say all pallets are catered for. You could always call in advance or check their website, Mexigo Southampton. I think there are other Mexigo branches around the local area as far as Maidstone if you google Mexigo. Don’t shoot the messenger as this was the first time I had visited this shop/chain and I was unsure as you are reading my review, but I was satisfied with what I chose, and think if you plan your selections well either there or via the website you will not be disappointed.

We have basically had everything on the menu that is vegetarian and/or dairy free. The food is good and the service is fast and friendly.

Enjoyed a really nice chicken tika burrito with curly fries. Huge choice of food to eat in or take out. Really nice selection of drinks and sides. Delicious. Quite pricey but worth it. Staff friendly.

Good food, with wide range of options and lots of fresh ingredients. Portions are good and extremely filling. Only criticism is it is a bit pricey for a weekday lunch!

I wish there were other options for the vegan / fake meat that aren't BBQ, as that flavor doesn't really go with hot sauce. It worked ok for the tacos (BBQ jackfruit) but made the seitan burrito taste weird and sweet. Sorry I'm from Los Angeles where the vegan Mexican food is amazing so have high standards 😛

Wow. Went there for our wedding anniversary dinner and despite it really being a take away, were far from disappointed. The food had real depth of flavours, the staff were pleasant and helpful. I'd happily go back there for another anniversary. My only regret is that we live well o we 200 miles away! 😟

Fancied Mexican and was local to where we were stay. This was a very pleasant experience all food is fresh and on view. Serves mexican food such as tacos, burritos or wraps. Have a range of vegan options. We had bbq jackfruit and vegan chilli crispy tacos for around £9. The service is fast and the place was not too crowded as well.
