Mexigo in Southampton

Me and my boyfriend have been to Mexigo a few times and on every occasion the food has been amazing and the service was great. We always leave happy and we will continue to be returning customers

i’d heard good things about this and i got it for the first time as a big fan of tortilla (not chipotle it sucks). this is by far a million times better than tortilla. everything tastes fresh and expensive. it’s well priced and so so tasty

All-around nice experience! They compile the dish then and there at the food counter which makes it more interesting. They have a variety of meats to choose from and a lot of veggies too. We tried their crispy tacos and a chicken bowl along with a shot of Baileys and a cheesecake. The waiting time was very small. The ambiance is great for any type of a group or family. It was fairly busy for a weekday and the staff was super friendly and attentive. Would not hesitate to go there again!

Delicious Burritos! I did not have time to take a picture before I ate it how delicious it was😂. Very generous size of Nachos with cheese and Jalapenos. Huge range of Jarritos drinks! Professional customer service as well as clean and tidy little restaurant! Thank you! We will be back!

It's an iconic place to eat burrito in Southampton. The food is delicious and feels like homemade. They also have New Forest ice cream to buy too.

They serve good meals, and I visit them anytime I'm on London Road, Southampton. I'm leaving this review this time because the " white old lady" asked me If I knew how to unwrap and eat a Burrito"? Now, this has never happened to me ever at Mexigo before, but it did a few days ago. I found this offensive and rude because, 1. I'm coloured, and 2. She did not ask anyone before me on the queue who were all "white". Although I told her "Of course, its a "wrap", and I'm a customer with a punch card which the lovely lady at the till stamped, So you can imagine. Please can you advise the "white old lady" not to ask such questions to customers! It's food, anyone can eat however they wish! Thanks,

Mexigo always serves fresh burritos, nachos and such at fair prices. When I visited recently, the only thing that let them down was that the radiators were on full blast in August. Not sure why.

Our second pre-cruise visit to this outstanding family owned Mexican restaurant. The service is friendly and attentive and the burritos are absolutely fantastic, made expertly to order, in regular and huge sizes, and they're excellent value. I cannot recommend this amazing restaurant highly enough... I only wish they had a branch nearer to us, as I'd be a regular!

Really good and great concept, kind of like a tex-mex version of a well known sub chain, but no where near as fast foody. Food was great, lots of choice, staff were patient and helpful. Not over priced, and reasonably good value considering a large burrito is genuinely large enough for a greedy adult man that loves burritos. I've been back there.

Food was great, I tried the burrito challenge. Totally beat me. My daughter had tacos and demolished the lot. Definitely will be going back to taste what else is on the menu

Went for an early meal before going to the cinema. There were a couple of people in the queue ahead of us, but the turnaround was incredibly quick. Ordering was nice and simple, just shuffle along saying what you'd like next. The sides available were great and the overall meal was well priced.

This is an excellent place for a quick bite. The service is very good and the staff are very friendly. They have a nice selection of Mexican food. Tasty and not so very spicy. It is on the main road and at times can get very busy. However, the staff provide a quick turnaround. Overall, it has a nice vibe.

Late Saturday lunchtime & very quite . Food was amazing! We both had the rice bowls.

First time coming and definitely won't be the last time. Staff were impeccably great. Jacob prepped and served us and was ace! Staff were really helpful in supporting my sons needs as he's autistic. The portion sizing was massive! The taste and quality was lush. The options were great! We missed out on having nachos due to the machine not working but will definitely be going back for more!

Constructive criticism on service - Smiling and saying hello to customers puts them at ease and makes them feel welcome in your establishment. Even if you are to busy to serve them, a greeting “hi be with you soon” or something similar, is better than blank silence and three pairs of eyes staring at you without a word. To be fair a couple of staff looked young, but a focus on service comes from above. Food always great but didn’t leave feeling great due to service today.

Lovely food, always so generous with their burrito portions. Was served by a really nice lad with glasses (sorry I didn’t get your name). I personally think he should be rewarded for his service. Made the whole experience a lot better.

Epic food with a massive menu. Flavours like fireworks going off in your mouth with every single bite. If you like mexican then this is a great pit stop to either eat in or take home.

Amazing. Absolutely incredible. Only ever had Mexigo delivered but the food always comes hot and the portion sizes are the best. Highly recommend the shredded beef burrito. I literally drive from Manchester for these burritos (and I guess I see my girlfriend as well in Southampton while I'm down that way).

The ONLY good thing about this place is the staff and the fact that you aren't poisoned by the food. The quality of the ingredients - well as a connoisseur of Mexican food - this looks and tastes looks like prison slop. Mexican? You can't just put no seasononing in something and call it from another country. This place is literally an abomination. The owner clearly does not care. The staff is so wonderful - ok the owner hires great people - that's what he does well. But recipes - what happened here???!?!? ugh I told myself I would never go there years ago and I mistakenly went back. It is not difficult to add actual seasoning to food to make it taste like something but this guy isn't interested in making food that tastes Mexican in any way. You would NEVER go to Mexico and then serve "food" like this I mean come on. Have you even looked at Mexican food, like in photos? Do you know it looks good? Have you ever been to a Chipolte?! When you walk up to your counter, your food looks old - the top of the meat in your containers is dried and crusted over. No one notices this?! The veggies look like dog food. If your business is struggling, I can tell why in 5 seconds. you don't make people want to come back. clearly

A family member got a takeaway from here. He said it is magnificent!

I can’t get enough of their burritos! So delicious and quality is very consistent.

Rude staff including the manager. Only asked the waitress how long my order gonna take, she ignored me and when i asked again she said i don't know and can't check for. The manager backed her and waa told that I can cancel my order instead of checking how long it actually will take. Don't recommend and I will never visit again.

We come from Bournemouth just for a mexigo as they closed the Bournemouth one, best burritos for miles!

Lovely food, very busy. I had quesadilla & the rest of the family had burritos. All were excellent. I am going to try making burritos when I get home!

We walked in and were welcomed straight away by a lovely lady named Jo. We were after a light bite and Jo recommended the “Taquitos” which were incredible!! The food was made to order which was a lovely touch and meant it was piping hot when it arrived to the table. I can’t recommend this place enough and I’ve only come in for a snack. I’ll be back for certain to try their whole menu!

very good and very affordable food - you definitely get what you pay for, it's not the best Mexican place in southampton but it's definitely the best in terms of taste-price-amount of food ratio. only about £10pp for a pretty large potion of food.

Had an excellent burrito here. Fresh ingredients, with their independent flavours brought together - not overcooked and stale stuff squished into mushy paste like some places. The large burrito is a full meal in a tube, as it should be, it'll do you for the day. Yes please, and cake.

They always have fantastic food and excellent customer service! I was there last week and was served by a young vegan lady (Laura?) who was very friendly, as were the rest of the staff on shift. Food is always delicious with a great selection of veggie options :-)

100% the best Mexican food in Southampton. Every filling option is loaded with flavour and the salsa is properly made. The staff are also amazing, so friendly and welcoming; they even go so far as to ring you if something you've ordered via Deliveroo has run out - in my case, their cheese dip (which is seriously one of the best dips I've ever had) and they offered to send me a brownie instead. Have I not mentioned their brownies?? The salted caramel filled one will literally blow your mind. Amazing food, amazing flavours, amazing staff, amazing service - you won't be disappointed if you eat here.

Stopped in for a spot of lunch, tacos and cheesey nachos 😋 delicious and very filling. The staff were knowledgeable about my dietary needs. Told me exactly what I could and couldn't have.

Best food we had whilst down from Leeds to the south coast for a week. I’m always nervous on quality of meat at Mexican places in the UK following a few bad experiences with ‘Tortilla’ the chain. However I was really impressed with Mexigo! Staff very friendly. Very reasonable prices. Ordered day 1 via Deliveroo and came into shop the following day for more! I’ll be back for sure.

This place is my absolute go to. I'm yet to have a bad experience here and as bad as it sounds, traveling from Bournemouth just for a burrito. It is always so worth it here.

Went her about a week a go and been here many times before as well. The food is nice and tasty especially the shredded beef burrito bowl which is very tasty and reasonably priced for the portion size. There are lots of additional options to add to the bowl such as different salsas, sour cream and guacamole. This place has lots of good options to choose from and it never dissapoints..

Tacos are honestly my favourite food and I get them whenever they’re available and I had to say, this is the best place I’ve had so far and for £8 you get so much food!

Mexigo is a great Mexican restaurant - they have the buffet style so you watch them make your food and choose what goes in it and it is of really high quality. They also cater well for allergens and are really nice people to boot. You can't really ask for more.

Excellent food at affordable prices and the staff is great too. I ordered some burritos to eat in and one to take away and they recommended to make the take away one after we finished eating so it stays warm along with the cheese bites. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great and the staff very professional and friendly. I would definitely go back there.

1st time at Mexigo, and excellent burrito, plenty of choices and really friendly welcoming staff. And the dirty chilli fries are a real winner Was also offered a free brownies which they are trying out and asked for feedback, well the Oero one was also excellent 10/10

Really disappointing tonight, didn't get salsa and sour cream with my quesadillas that I ordered and the burrito was soggy and doughy. Not worth the cost and not the quality food I've had from here before.Not remotely, maybe time to get mexican somewhere else.

Best Mexican food in town! Great options, great taste!

Visited yesterday evening with my child who has coeliac disease. The gentleman who works there went out of his way to help us. He was so kind and knowledgeable. He knew all about 'may contain' and knew the fries wouldn't be any good for us as they are fried in the same oil as other things. Staff were happy to change gloves and use different serving utensils for us. Ended up having taco shells with rice and salad and toppings. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely visit again very soon!

The food here is excellent. Probably not very authentic Mexican but I don't think that is what they are going for. I've never had a bad meal and I've probably had over 20. Decent portions and well priced.

If someone is Eating in , Please deliver all Their order together , burritos etc are made as soon you order but the rest of it comes out whenever its ready and then one person is sat watching whilst the others eat and then your sides come out after youve finished , good food and prices and friendly staff though
