Mexifun in Southampton

I ate here for lunch last week and had the pulled pork rice bowl. Honestly the best Mexican food I’ve had, it was delicious. It was so good in fact, I returned the following 2 days in a row. The staff are really nice and genuinely happy to serve their customers. I’ll be returning again….. very soon !

I always come here with my girlfriend, whether it’s dine in or ordered online the food is always amazing. Just came in today for some brunch and we were waiting outside for it to open. The people that run this restaurant are the loveliest and most hospitable I’ve met in all of Southampton. Couldn’t recommend their food enough, and if you’re ever in the area have a sit down meal for sure. Best Mexican food I’ve ever had.

Me and my friend tried this place for the first time and hands down, its one of the best mexican places I have had in. Their meat was perfectly cooked especially in the nachos, and their small tacos were very tasty too. The churros tasted perfectly awesome with the sauce. Will love going back there again. ♥️

This is the best Mexican food in all of Southampton. The food is fresh and delicious, the boss's service attitude is very good, and the store is also decorated warmly. I highly recommend everyone to give it a try!

Food is great. The chicken and chorizo tacos were a delight and the burrito I had was super flavourful and absolutely huge. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

I had my first taste of Mexifun today. Mere words cannot express my joy at finally finding great Mexican food. My pulled pork burrito was pure goodness from start to finish. The care and quality was out of this world. And it was about the size of an artillery shell. NOT stuffed with rice like some other 'authentic' restaurants do. In the immortal words of Arnie. I'll be back!!! 😎

Super delicious food! I'm Mexican and the cochinita tasted practically like home! I went with a crumb and she loved it too. Everyone is super friendly and the place is clean and pleasant. Super recommended! :)

I wish I took a picture of the burrito before I ate it so I could have shared it with you all. This place has the most incredible food. I eat all over Southampton and the quality of the food here is 🤤 deer sweet Jesus. Get the pulled pork burrito. You will cry with happiness 🥹

Let me just say I almost cried when I had a bite of my burrito, I wasn't crying coz it was rubbish but it was the greatst burrito I have ever had. Taco bell is weak and pathetic compared to this place! People working there are lovely (got complimented on my blush) and the service was quick and so so nice. Will definitely go again!

Excellent portions, price and seasoning! It's the only place in Southampton that makes real corn tortillas and the guacamole is always fresh, definitely makes the churros better and crispier - extra points for the Dulce de Leche. Very friendly staff ☺️

Ordered this for the first time tonight! Wow! Just wow! Unbelievably good, in every aspect, delicious in taste, value for money, great portion sizes, an easy 10/10 for me! Incredible, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Great food! Thanks to Jacinta for advice on what sauce to have with my steak burrito, the halopino mayo was perfect. It is a bit of a café rather than a restaurant but has a good atmosphere.

Paid around 20 pounds for churros, burrito and drink. Churros were delicious, burrito also but it was extra full of rice and just a spoon of pork at the end of it. Friend ordered steak burrito and had only 3 pieces of 2 cm steak in it. Staff was good, brought us sour cream after forgetting to bring it earlier. We were waiting about 20 minutes for our burrito's .

Great food, friendly service. Stopped here for a bite to eat. Amazing flavours and value for money. Had tacos, nachos, quesadillas and churros. All were really good. Good to see vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Thanks Mexifun! 😎

Definitely, my best place for mexican food in Southampton , if you want a good nush up, this is the place.... Their tacos are extremely scrumptious, attention is outstanding and friendly. Amazing.

The best !! I highly recommend ! The taste was soo good, waitress and the other workers was so nice and helpful. We asked what should’ve we eat, and then they bring 3 different types of tacos, it was soo delicious. And i can say the best churros ever!!:)

Amazing burritos! We have wanted to visit for a while and Mexifun did not disappoint. We had the grilled steak and the pulled pork pibil burritos, and they tasted wonderful. The tortilla was toasted, crispy. Excellent presentation as well. Great portions, very filling, good value for money. The churros with dulce de leche are a must! The space and staff are very welcoming and attentive. Lovely ambience and music. We cannot wait to visit again!

Absolutely the best Mexican food I’ve had in the UK, everything is delicious but the tacos in particular I could never tire of. Wonderful little spot, would travel for food this good.

If you’re looking for a place to have a meal on a budget and your tummy to be full, come here!! We had a lovely scrumptious lunch with the huge burrito, nachos and quesadillas :) The shop lady was really nice as we were her first customers of the day and treated us to some yummy crunchy churros 😋 10/10 experience!

Best Burito in town. Been here a number of times now and tried most of the things on the menue including the enchiladas as well as the tacos. The food is great, good portion size as well as great tasting. The owner is lovely and very accommodating. Easy to add extra spice to dishes of that's your thing. Also got a selection of Mexican drinks which were lovely.

Every time I come to Mexifun the food is great and the service is wonderful. It’s one of the only places I’ve been to where the food comes out hot off the grill and tastes very fresh.

Excellent food, very good quantity. But avoid buying the mexican drinks, its not worth buying a bottles soda for £3.95, that too tastes aweful

the food is ok but £12 for a Burito is a bit overkill for a bit of rice and a piece of chicken and one cheap tortilla, especially since the same dish was less than £10 a month ago, a fifth of the price of the product in a month is a joke.

Some context: I went to Mexifun a few months ago while I was in Southhampton. I'm born and raised in Mexico so I usually don't go for Mexican food but when I read a little bit about the place I knew I had to try it. But, I wasn't ready at all for what was in store for me. The food was not only outstanding, it's as if you're transported back into a memory of an aunthentic Mexican restaurant. The tacos and quesadillas tasted just like those back home if not better. At the end of the meal we ordered the Churros. While my girlfriend is a very emotional person I had never seen her physically CRY when she tasted something before. I'm not exaggerating, she had a Ratatouille/Ego moment where she was transported back into a childhood memory. That is how truly authentic the food is here, and the owner is truly talented and humble to own such a special place. My only regret is not having wrote this review sooner.

Went here on our first day in Southampton and loved it. Food was delicious, service was fast and helpful. The price is reasonable for the portions you receive! If I come back to Southampton this is definitely on my must go list.

This is an incredible little place. We went for the first time on Saturday, 2 days ago, and we cannot stop thinking about it. So much so that I went back today. We've tried the tacos, the quesadillas, the Mexican soda and the CHURROS. Omg the CHURROS! Just incredible food and a great little place, will definitely be back!

Excellent authentic Mexican food! Tacos with delicious flavour combinations and home made corn tortillas made me feel like I was really in Central America. Prices reasonable, loved the interior and staff were really friendly. Nice touch also the take out boxes were all compostable. I want to eat here every day.

Ate lunch here while on a short break in the city and it was the best meal we had. Great tasting food and excellent service. Portion sizes are very good and great value for money. Would highly recommend. These people deserve to do well.

Really delicious food, really friendly staff, cosy vibe with good music. All the food was delicious, Tacos and Burrito especially, and well accompanied by variety of Jarritos Soda flavours, which was also very nice. Would highly recommend, will probably visit next time in Southampton.

This place is excellent! The food is fresh, piping hot, with great combinations of flavors, color, and texture combining into deliciousness! It's a small restaurant with just 4 tables, interesting decor, lively Mexican music playing quietly, and you can see into the very clean, busy kitchen. They do a brisk takeaway business. The quesedillas were crisp, gooey with cheese, subtle hints of spices in the chicken, deliciously sautéed peppers and tasty fresh pico. The burritos are huge, hot, a great combination of flavors, with tender moist chicken and grilled perfectly. Prices are extremely reasonable. If this were more of a restaurant than a cafe, you would be paying double and thinking it worth the price. Go! You won't regret it.

Best Mexican food I’ve had in the UK! Absolutely perfect.

Mexifun is our go to takeaway. The food is consistently outstanding. Every time we order the food is great the speed is great and we finish dinner full and happy. I wish I could give it more than a 5. Feel lucky to have it as an option! If your order 100% get the guacamole with tortilla chips. The guac is incredible. All the rice bowls are amazing and my favourite is the enchiladas, slightly spicy with so many toppings. The Mexifun team keep doing what you are doing!
