Fuegos Street in Portsmouth

First time visiting Fuegos after friend’s recommendation, glad to have listened to them. Service from the minute we walked through the door was great, food amazing and great value for money. Staff polite and professional will definitely return in the near future to sample their other dishes

We are a part Mexican part English family recently returned to the U.K. My stepson is on a mission to find great, authentic Mexican food here and was excited when he discovered Fuegos Street just down the road from us in Portsmouth. When we saw they served Birria it was a done deal. We booked a table on a Saturday afternoon and were not disappointed. We ordered Taquitos, Dome Bread and Birria. Everything was just amazing to be honest. As is the case with most Mex restaurants here the food leans toward Tex Mex but the Birria came very close to the traditional, Mexican experience. Everything tasted fresh, was perfectly seasoned and had a home made vibe. Personally for me service is almost as important as the food and everyone was super nice, attentive and really passionate about what they were trying to achieve with the restaurant. With so few, decent Latin American and Mexican restaurants in the U.K. if you love the cuisine you should support Fuegos Street. It’s a gem.

Good service, great food. Bhavi and Yamin (if names are wrong, it's because their handwriting are bad xd) are especially nice to us. The DOME BREAD and the TAQUITOS are to die for. Foods are incredible. 10/10 would eat again.

We were looking for somewhere to eat in Elm Grove and this restaurant certainly has curb appeal. We were warmly welcomed by the super staff and given the advice we needed on how to order. We chose the Birria tacos , one chicken and one beef with a portion of chips each. My husband is gluten intolerant and they we were able to accommodate him with GF tacos. They were delicious, loaded with plenty of meat and very tasty. The portion of chips was very generous and the bottomless drinks are a very clever idea. The whole experience was very pleasant and next time we visit from Bristol we will definitely bring our teenage grandsons here , who I am sure will enjoy the food as much as we did!!

Beautiful restaurant with really delicious and very reasonably priced food. One of our favourite places to eat in Portsmouth. We also love very friendly and helpful staff.

Excellent choice of really good burgers and fries. Good friendly service and bottomless drinks Pleasant surroundings. Will definitely be back.

We enjoyed the Mango slush and refillable drinks. Shame there’s no beer. I tried the jacker-cracker, really tasty with an amazing consommé sauce and a corn cob side. My daughter had the burger and fries, husband the smashed burger taco and fries. All very good, Two really helpful members of staff. The music was a little loud for my liking but I was probably older than the rest of the demographic, and the chairs were too big for the table but we will go back again, if only to try the Mac n Cheetos!

We stumbled across this restaurant from a random google search, and let’s just say it was definately worth a visit. We arrived as a big group , and besides the restaurant being a little on the smaller side, the manager was quick and swift enough to cater for our big group. The ambience and setting was quite relaxed. Moving on to the food options, they offer a wide range of options including vegetarian and halal. Being a vegetarian many restaurants don’t offer a wide selection,but I was spoilt for choice here. The meals were quite filling and very tasteful, definitely worth a visit. The only downside would be the restaurant is slightly on the smaller side,so to definately avoid disappointment ,worth calling in advance to book,if they take bookings. Definately a 4/5 for this one

My first visit but not my last. You order at the bar and then a waitress/waiter serve you. This worked for me but not sure how it is if it is very busy. Did get busy whilst we were in there, we visited about 6pm. Seems a very lovely, clean place with cheerful friendly staff, two I would mention for good service and friendliness were Bhavi and Effima. The food was wonderful. Fresh, tasty, well presented and a very reasonable price. They do not serve alcohol here but don’t let that put you off. The food is outstanding and then you can pop across the road after for a beer if you so wish. Totally recommend as very inexpensive for very good food

Went here for supper for my sons 12th birthday. Overall the food was good my spicy chicken was brilliant and wife’s burger looked good. Would have given 5 stars but taken a point off because you have to queue to order, they do not serve alcohol and the cream cheese bread starter is sweet. We all agreed that just cream cheese and garlic was fine ie the sweetness spoilt it. Overall would probably not return mainly because we like to have an alcoholic drink with our food.

First of all I must say the food for the most part was very good indeed. The dome bread was unusual and delicious and the birria tacos very good. It was let down by the fact the nachos and loaded fries did not have real cheese but that fake cheese flavour sauce. Prices are very good. Does not serve alcohol which was not mentioned on the website so having been looking forward to a cocktail we were disappointed. Though we would have returned for the food the service was not good at all. The staff were not welcoming, warm or friendly. Two in our party were vegan so we ordered “make it vegan” options. Having written a note of what everyone wanted in his phone our adult son went up and placed the order. First course, all good. Second course came, our daughter took a bite and realised it wasn’t vegan. We went up to complain and were assured it was vegan, so our daughter tucked in. Just as she was about to finish the waiter came and told us it was NOT vegan after all!! It’s one thing to make one mistake but to then make it worse by assuring us it was correct causing our daughter to eat MORE of the none vegan food was inexcusable. Though they did change the food they were not in the least bit apologetic.

Literally stumbled across this restaurant when looking for somewhere to eat upon arrival in Portsmouth for a ferry crossing. It looked busy from the outside and certainly had an appeal that was lacking from anywhere else we'd driven past. The food is AMAZING. The service was great and all in all it was a great experience. I had the smashed burger which was so delicious, I was disappointed to find out this restaurant is a one-off and I'd have to come back to Portsmouth to experience it again. My husband had the lamb chops which were marinaded in their own house mix. We both enjoyed our mains and then order the two desserts to share - filled mini donuts and churros. Altogether delicious and really enjoyable. Great place, fab decor and wonderful food.

Amazing food, good sizes and prompt service, My husband had a burger and chips, I had a starter and sides all delicious. They offer a good range of vegetarian options. Had seen the bread on instagram and am gutted I forgot that’s what I wanted, so we will definitely have to go back

After long time I’m happy to write review with positive experience. Firstly I would like to mention that personal in this place especially Bhavi and Marie was very friendly, helpful and caring….Food was amazing as much as I would expect the level of good Mexican restaurant . I can advice to visit this place because you not gonna be disappointed and you will enjoy good food in lovely place .

Went today for some food before heading for drinks, we ordered starters of taquitos and halloumi fries. The portions were huge. Then had beef birria tacos with mac and Cheetos and lamb chops with nacho fries and these were huge portions and tasted amazing. Best tacos I've ever had. Would deffo recommended and all the staff were so welcoming and helpful

Been here loads with my husband we give it A gem of A restaurant .. Food AMAZING & VERY TASTY get loyalty card stamped for xtra treats new .. New menu is lovely & that’s not forgetting the AMAZING Staff Thankyou

We hadn't realised until we sat down that this was a non-alcoholic venue which was a bit of a shock - totally my own mistake not to have noticed - but once I had got my head around the fact that it was possible to have a dinner without an alcoholic drink, it was actually a really nice change! The food was tasty and plentiful, there were 7 of us who all deliberately chose different things so we could do a bit of sharing and we all loved everything we ate. We had hoped to have three courses but we were all stuffed after the starter and the main. The staff are so friendly and were happy to give us take out boxes for our leftovers, and they had a lovely area for young uns to pose for photos with a huge mirror, flowers and a selfie light - which was perfect for our three teenage girls. I thought they would never leave. As we walked away we said how nice it was to have not had a drink, I think it made us enjoy the food more in some ways. We will absolutely be going back, it was the perfect place for a family meal.

The foods was amazing. Absolutely delicious. We had wings and hallumi for starters. The wings were so succulent, the meat fell off the bone. Burrito and birra tacos. Devine. Service was spot on too. We will certainly be going back

Me and my friend came to try the birria tacos and ended up ordering way more! The food was incredibly tasty and reasonably priced. Lovely interior and atmosphere, will absolutely eat there again and i've been telling everyone how nice it was :)

We are always looking for alternative Halal restaurants and this was awesome. Food, service and atmosphere was spot on

This was our second visit to the fantastic Fuegos and it didn't disappoint! We had the tear and share bread to start, burger and fries and burritos (jack fruit and chicken) and it was just brilliant, the loaded fries will be talked about for weeks. The staff are friendly, professional and prompt with all aspects of service very well done. If you haven't tried this place yet, make it soon, you won't be disappointed.

We came as a group of four on a Saturday night. All of the food was excellent and the service was great. We loved the refillable drink options and wished we'd had room for milkshakes too. We will definitely be back.

Came for lunch as a last minute decision and so glad we did. We absolutely love this restaurant. Great tasting food and very friendly staff.

Dived in for a a quick ‘off site’ meal whilst at victorious festival. Simple menu, we went for burgers. Came quickly and super tasty. Good portion sizes. Bottomless coke and soft drinks on tap if that is your thing. As far as i can tell restaurant doesn’t seem to be licensed for alcohol if that matters to you. Well worth it - had a bit of food envy looking at what other people had ordered…….

Best piri piri I have ever had, better than the well known chain, nice clean restaurant, suitable for weekend lunch, dinner or special occasions, it was busy, that’s always a good sign! toilets were clean, open kitchen, no alcohol is served but a good range...

Wow ! This was my first visit after being recommended. We ordered basically all of the vegetarian starters so had a picky tapas style meal. Every dish was amazing . Great vegetarian options . Staff all super friendly , didn’t feel rushed or uncomfortable ....

Food and service was fab! Would recommend the beef tacos and lamb chops Staff are so friendly and helpful Will definitely be back
