Amazing food! Something different, not eaten much Mexican food but been coming back to this place since I found it it's lovely!

Ordered for delivery, although it was running a little later than expected it still arrived hot and the driver was apologetic and extremely friendly. The burritos and milkshakes were really delicious but the standout for me was definitely the Cajun boneless thighs! Will definitely be ordering from here again :)

Had a delivery recently, and the food and delivery service were both very good.

Ordered 2 burrito meals with coke zero and sweet potato fries with 1 gambas prawns to activate a deal. They messed up the order then tried to blame me for putting it through wrong. When I worked out what I apparently ordered it wouldn't even activate the deal. So they got it wrong and instead of owning up to a mistake they decided to blame anyone else. To top it off they put the phone down on my fiance when she had called to complain. Definitely will not be ordering again from here.

I have ordered from Amgios quite a few times in the last 6 months - the food has always been hot and fresh! The delivery drivers from Amgios have been so friendly and nice making the experience extra nice. The owners have made a made great Mexican classics exciting and there is always something for everyone. I’m a massive fan of the name burrito bowl!

My fave restaurant in portsmouth for well over a year now. They are always so helpful when I ring to make changes to the food I've ordered. The food itself is so flavourful and the burritos are jam-packed with filling. Portion sizes are very generous and never have any complaints. Lovely family run business and my go to whenever we want to treat ourselves!

Just had our delivery and had to leave a review. The freshest ingredients, fast delivery. We had the fries, burger and halloumi burger with milkshakes. All very tasty. We will be back soon!

Great healthy food all while tasting good, staff are friendly and reasonably priced

Ordered twice from here now through deliveroo. Both times the food has arrived very quickly - within 40 minutes and as estimated by the app. First of all, the burritos I ordered were huge. You do not really need a side to go with it. These are meals in themselves. Not only that but they are very tasty as well. I had chicken one time and beef the other. Both had amazing amounts of meat but were also stuffed with the other toppings I chose. The chips are nice and the jalapeño poppers were very tasty. Chicken empanadas were good too - especially with some of the barbecue sauce on them. Overall, very happy with service and food. Excellent value for money. Will definitely be ordering from them again!

The order arrived in quite a timely fashion. It's a little bit more expensive than what I'd usually pay but the milkshakes were superb whilst not being too filling and the burrito in particular was packed with flavour with every bite. 10/10, would recommend.

Fries seemed a bit overdone but otherwise everything else was ok

Been a customer of Amigos for a while, they have the best halloumi burger anywhere in Portsmouth! Milkshakes to die for... Service is always fast, friendly and fabulous. An amazing family-run business, these people go above and beyond for customers, even at the busiest times. Highly recommend. Get the halloumi burger, you won't regret it!

I order from these guys a lot because I like the food (obviously), and for that it is 5 stars. However they have a penchant for forgetting to pack the drink that comes with the meal deal. It's actually quite impressive how often it happens, given it is part of the meal deal. It was this that motivated me to write a review and unfortunately take a star off.

First time eating here staff were super helpful giving us recommendations and making us feel really welcome. Food was lovely, wait wasn’t too long and large portions such good value for money

It’s so bad I made the effort to write this. I ordered nachos and they were all soggy. The guacamole is an unnatural bright green colour and doesn’t resemble guacamole whatsoever. The cheese was so watery I started to feel sick after a couple of bites into it I couldn’t bring myself to eat anymore, had to throw it in the bin. I want a refund…🥺

My order was not delivered the second time either! I will not order from such an unreliable restaurant again!

I ordered a pulled beef burrito. I only ate a third of it because it was so big. But within a few hours I was violently ill and I was ill all night long. I won't ever order from here again!

I can't really describe it but none of it tastes authentic. Tastes more Indian than mexican. Strange, blandness to all the chicken. Guac tastes like one from a dip selection not homemade, only thing that was tolerable was the beef which isn't the worst. In comparison to los dos amigos the other mexican in town they've got ALOT to improve on.

Ordered in store. Missing items on order. Told sent out over an hour later items still not arrived.

Just received 5 portions of fries after 1 hour. The fries are reheated from yesterday and have plastic texture. If you want you’re fries back and sell them again I have them intact. Please come back from them, thanks

They do excellent loaded nachos with plenty of options and fairly tasty churros for a good price, although they only offer take-away and delivery and parking is a little difficult because it's on the main road.

I’ve ordered here a few times and it has been great, massive portions and turns up hot. Last night however, within an hour of eating both myself and my husband ended up with food poisoning, and have been violently ill since - the only common denominator being the rice. I’d probably give this place a wide berth if you like your guts to remain in your body. Reported to Uber, and to the local council.

Love the food. I had the rice box with wings and it was delicious! I also pinched some of my husbands fajita and it was so tasty and smoky. We ordered during a busy period too but food wasn't late at all. Lovely place will be returning soon!

Just had a beef burrito with the 'calienté' salsa and it was banging! No negatives, aside from the lack of Mexicans in-store, though I suppose that can't be helped. Thanks for the great food!

I've ordered from Amigos a lot of times and I can happily say I have always been left extremely happy and very satisfied as a regular customer. The staff are really kind and helpful, the menu is versatile and diverse and the flavours add to the experience. The meals are a great price and i will continue to order and recommend Amigos to anyone who hasn't had the pleasure of trying it out yet. Great job everyone and long may it continue 😁😁

Me and my partner both got food poisoning after eating from this restaurant. Please don’t be deceived by the good reviews as this was our first time eating from here and never again!

Tried this for the first time and the food was really good. Friendly staff explained the menu and recommended items to get the best deal. Food was very tasty and thoroughly enjoyed the fajitas. I would recommend giving it a try for yourself.

We first bought from Amigos, shortly after it opened. The food was good but the portions were small, which made it too expensive really. Yesterday, we decided to buy from there again , as a treat. My goodness, the portion sizes are now so big and the food is still good. We may become regulars now after all.

This evening we ordered 2 Burito's and fully loaded chips. This arrived within 25 mins and this was the best take away food we have had yet. The amount of beef and chicken was very generous and was very tasty. As fussy eaters we highly recommend this takeaway giving a very easy 5 STARS. Looking forward to our next delivery. Wow wow wow!! 1st time getting food from Amigos! My goodness! 😱 The portion sizes are incredible!! I had to share my sweet potato fries from my meal out as couldn’t eat them all along side my HUGE burrito! So much filling! Juicy pulled beef soo moist, succulent and tons of it! Brilliant prices also for what you get, you could easily share one main meal of a burrito, chips and drink between 2 people as there was soo much food! Will definitely be coming here again! ❤️❤️❤️🌯🌯

Absolutely astonishing. Not the first I ordered there, but as you can see portions are more than enough, food is delicious and service is always splendid at the front desk. Recommend to anyone fancying some Mexican food.

This is the worst take away iv ever had. Cheap, nasty ingredients. Burrito so dry with literally all rice and beans, no sauce, no salad and tiny sprinkling of cheese. Soggy vile chips with disgusting liquid cheese. Just binned it all. Its infuriating that people think it is ok to charge for utter garbage.

Really wanted to share my experience of this place. Firstly while ordering in the premises I was greated by the owner who was very friendly and passionate, he made a fuss of my daughter which was great. The food was just as good and so tasty, portion sizes were impressive and would highly recommend. Will definitely be going back and will tell others to do so also. Really enjoyable, tasty and filling, a great little find.

This place is next to the dentist and food is soft enough to eat on a temporary filling !!! And it tastes fu***** good!!

Whats up guys?! You put on a buy 1 get 1 free and making half portions?! Really is this the way to do a business? Previously i had a loaded fries which was enough for me now i ate one and a half and still not full...

Great food and good portions. I had the chicken burrito (with sour cream, pineapple salsa, and mozzarella). Staff were very friendly and the place was busy (which I think is a good sign). I will definitely be going back.

Have driven past this takeaway many times and always observed how busy it seemed, and having found it difficult to find a decent burrito in the Portsmouth and surrounding areas I thought I'd put my past disappointments behind me and give this establishment a try. First impression was of how clean tidy and well presented the place was. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the co owner took time out to have a friendly chat about his business and future visions for his business, telling me about how he had provided free food for essential workers at a local school and doing his bit for the local community! Anyway, back to the food, I opted for the burrito, there are three main filling options one of which caters for vegetarians, I went for the pulled beef choice, it comes with rice and three add on options for the filling, I went for Mozzarella, pineapple salsa and to spice it up the Amigos Salsa. Whilst it was being prepared there was a steady trade of walk in customers and delivery drivers, so they do have a delivery service and are on the usual takeaway food apps, seeing that it was busy and this was a midweek Wednesday evening was a very reassuring and good sign. After not too long a wait my food was ready, very well presented in paper type food carrier bag with no environmentally unfriendly plastic to be seen. I took out the well wrapped and generous sized portion burrito, the first bite confirmed my expectations that this was going to be a good choice of takeaway, I was not disappointed in any way, the blend of my choice of fillings worked very well together there was plenty of pulled beef and the ballance between the heat of the Amigos Salsa and pineapple salsa was spot on the overall ballance of all the fillings was also spot on! On this my first experience I can 100% recommend the Burrito as it is hands down the best in the area. I will be returning to try other things on the menu but I suspect due to the excellent culinary experience I had with that burrito I will probably order the same one again!

Food was slightly pricey however the quality and quantity made up for it. Really enjoyed the food. So glad to have finally found a DECENT Mexican takeaway in Portsmouth

Just wanted to say Fantastic food, I’ve just ordered food from amigos in Portsmouth and just have to say the way you guys have prepared and made this food is like if I was in Mexico again eating food their like normal, I ordered from a guy called Rafi I believe and he was so presentable and nice understanding funny and made me feel welcome he also suggested some food for me to try and I have to say the empanadas were a good shout I’ve gone through loads of the reviews and have to think some people really don’t have any taste it’s like they have covid or something but here’s a 5* from me and my friends and will be coming back for more and more

I have been using this approximately twice a month since it opened and there isn't a meal yet that has disappointed me... if you don't like spicy food then best ask which ones to avoid on the menu as the salad is even spicy. There is a bit of a wait if ordering in store, but you can order ahead. 😉

I was really looking forward to trying Amigos as it is a New Mexican takeaway in the area, but I was sorely disappointed… When ordering Mexican / Latin American food you would usually expect a lot of flavour. What struck me about Amigos was that it was somehow both bland and void of flavour whilst being extremely salty, making it almost inedible. We ordered two burritos that were extremely dry and truly disappointing. In one of the burritos was the smallest serving of the add-ons, in the second was nothing but dehydrated meat and stodgy rice. The empanadas were again dry and void of flavour. The fries were so salty I didn’t know whether to put them in the bin or in the garden to deter slugs and snails… I opted for the bin as I wasn’t feeling that cruel. This was our first time ordering from Amigos and it will most certainly be our last! The food is disgusting and extremely overpriced. I would much rather buy from Taco Bell than venture here again… If you want good Mexican food in Portsmouth & Southsea, I’d highly recommend Porters of Albert Road or Bonitas in Palmerston Road.

Very dry food...the cheese in the quesidea only blobbed in the middle...the burger asked for extra onions...there were none! The burrito was so dry is was inedible. The tortilla was tough. very disappointed!! This is a new business... If you continue to send out dreadful food like this....I give it 6 months! it is expensive for what it is!! This is only the 3rd negative I have given a business in my 5 years of Google reviews.

Very friendly people at Amigos! Good service as always. The food is really tasty. I initally thought its not spicy enough for me, but tonight, i realised they do a hot 🌶 salsa option.. 'amigos salsa' 😋 Also they gave me a lime wedge, which completed the Mexican flavour experience! I recommend the tacos, burrito and quesedillas... yet to try the Fajitas. Maybe tonight 🥳 Give them a try people, you wont be disappointed

Save yourselves the time/money/dinner disappointment. We waited an hour and a half for our food and it was awful. The fajita chicken filling was ok, but only compared to the rest of it which was inedible. The pots they use to send the guacamole, cheese, soured cream and salsa were so small there was only enough for one wrap. The empanadas were an insult. Either cooked in very dirty oil or fried for the 3rd time this week, filled with cheap and nasty mince with absolute zero flavour. The sweet potato fries weren't cooked properly and were also oily. The churros were OK, but definitely not nice. Again, in comparison to the rest they seemed to shine but that doesn't say much. There was meant to be chocolate dipping sauce and strawberries with them, there was a thimble of the nastiest cheap chocolate sauce I've ever seen and 1,singular strawberry. I can safely say we'll not be using this place again.

Got our takeaway here tonight and went in willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Blown away! The burritos we had are amongst the best we have ever had. We went spicy and our mouths were bursting with flavour. Not just hot for the sake of it. Delicious. Will be back.

The most delicious Cajun boneless wings I have ever eaten. Juicy and well marinated and well cooked fresh meat. Very impressive. Can take a bit of time for order to get ready but worth the wait. We also ordered the ghost quesadilla. Sweet potato fries weren’t that good: but it’s a Mexican place and completely forgivable.

First visit today, had a few different things and all amazing. Very Fresh, well cooked and flavoursome. Will be back for sure.

Had 2 Burritos and the famous loaded fries which was enough for 2 grown lads to soak up some beer. Great service from Nathan and my only gripe was the starter of cream cheese jalapenos was a bit small for the money. 4 little balls for £4 was a bit tight, I would make it 6 at that price. Food was still hot once we got home and it went down a treat. The cheese sauce used was really good, not runny and tasty. They also deliver which is brilliant too, and if you are in the Brewers Tap opposite they will bring your food over to the bar. A great addition to Eastney and I wish them nothing but good luck and hope it is a success.

First time we've ordered from here and I'm very impressed. It took a little while to prep our order but it was definitely worth the wait, the food is really very good. We had a mixture of.Burritos, Fajitas and some Boneless Cajun Chicken Thighs. Personally I think the meal deal isn't necessary as mains are substantial without the fries but it's still good value all the same. Will definitely order again.

It's a very rare occasion when I get a takeaway, been disappointed to many times , hence the reason I just don't. A freind of mine recommended amigos whilst I was visiting Portsmouth and tried it , and boy was I surprised by the burrito , the weight alone was crazy(value for money) and as for the taste absolutely delicious truly. Needless to say next time I'm down first stop shall be.....amigos.

Really enjoyed the food here, kind staff and the chef makes a lovely burrito. Will be ordering from here again! I went for a second time and can say that the chef Hassan Rahman really has magic in his hands as the beef burrito was even better than the first time! Give this man a Michelin star!!!!

What an incredible mexican take away! Just delicious. Ordered on Saturday night, waited less than half hour for fresh and such a tasty food, would happily wait longer. Tried burrito, tacos, nachos and of course churros and can't fault a thing. Highly recommend for great food and friendly service. Would 100% be ordering again. Thank you guys, keep it up!

Just ordered two burritos for lunch. Great taste but quite slow. Hopefully the speed will pick up! Update: 16th September. Round two: Service has picked up and the food was even better. Had a lovely chat with the owner too. 5* are well deserved this time around!!

Absolutely delicious. We tried the Halloumi, burger, chicken burger, sweet potato fries and cheesy chips and in all honesty it was the nicest tasting takeaway we've had in years. I've already recommended them to others. Will definitely go there again.
