Mexican Rico in Spelthorne

With both starters and mains, extremely tasty and well cooked food. This is the best Mexican Resturant in the area by far. Very small but cosy venue.

Found this lovely little restaurant whilst staying at a nearby hotel. The decor and background music really suits. The friendly staff are attentive and efficient. This is a small place with only six tables inside. As a result there were only two staff members. There was quite a wait between ordering and receiving our meal, BUT the wait was well worth it. The food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. Very good portion sizes and cooked to perfection was the best mexican food I've eaten in the UK. If you are in the area I would certainly recommend popping in, you won't be disappointed.

Just received my delivery from this place. And it's absolutely disgusting. Order a delivery and stated it to be delivered at 8pm and absolutely not before this time. It arrived at 6.45 cold sloppy and the portion size is pathetic. £35 for 1 main and 2 starters is a complete rip off. Never ordering from here again

We had dinner at the restaurant on a Friday night, it was quiet at first but got busier later in the evening. We decided to order mains only due to previous visits we have struggled to finish the food. We ordered Peri Peri chicken which came with two sides. The chicken was fine a decent portion but the sides were very stingy. I had chicken wedges and coleslaw. The plates are big and the wedges were hidden under the chicken. Coleslaw was served in a small heart shaped pot and I had a small amount of salad/garnish on the side. My partner had the same but he chose corn on the cob and salad as his sides (salad was the same portion size as mine more like a garnish. Previously the portion sizes have been great and we have struggled to finish the food. It looks like the ownership has changed and there have been some changes in the restaurant. We were disappointed in the cost of the two meals and do not feel it was value for money. We do like going to this restaurant as it is very local and previously enjoyed our meals. I hope that this review will encourage the owners to make some changes. Service was slow but acceptable. Generally a good range of Mexican food.

Absolutely atrocious service, ordered through the just eat app, took OVER two hours to be delivered, no call or information as to why they were taking so long, arrived cold. I feel for the just eat delivery man who practically said he was “honoured” to deliver it after so long. Overpriced for the quality of food and terrible customer service. Have used this restaurant a number of times both in restaurant and take away. Always been decent but now they have shrunk their portion sizes to unacceptable level. Ordered as a takeaway. Kept same prices though!! 3 small wraps supplied that could barely fit any food in, all dips etc shrunk, and chicken portion smaller. Also had burrito which was much smaller than previous. Rang to speak to manager who was rude and put phone down. Will now not be using them again! Btw we have put in a good review 2 years ago but restaurant has gone downhill. They’re now taking the mick with what we just had. Tastes nice but just not enough. If we had been offered that size when sitting in the restaurant I would not have paid and sent it back. Manager rude and contradicting himself. Didn’t care a jot! Said just out a negative review on, so we have! When it eventually closes down will have no one else to blame but themselves.

This was a great meal after a day out in London. Just walked in and got seated. All staff were friendly and accommodating and despite problems in the kitchen the food was still delicious. Desserts were amazing, not frozen and thawed like so many restaurants. Would definitely eat here again if I stay in Sunbury-on-Thames again

First and LAST visit to this place. I had heard good things so we thought it would be nice to visit for a birthday evening meal... HOW WRONG WE WERE!! My wife booked 4 days in advance and the booking was confirmed. On the evening of the booking, we arrived 10 minutes early to be safe and on time. The restaurant was 90% full so we thought it will be a good meal as it seems popular. When we were approached we were told "Sorry we cannot take anyone else... we are full and our booking system is playing up so we cannot accept any of the bookings we have already confirmed in advance". No contact prior to our arrival to let us know of the situation even though they had our contact details when making the booking 4 days earlier. Apparently, the kitchen was "too busy" so it seems that if the restaurant is nearly full they do not have the capacity to deal with this?? How weird that a restaurant can only deal with less than full capacity comfortably!! What was even worse was that they were happily taking take-a-way orders from walk-ins, while turning us away, and letting them know that food will be about 30 minutes until ready to collect... but they refused to seat us and not even an offer of waiting to see when a table would become available... just a SORRY WE CANNOT SEAT YOU, YOU WILL HAVE TO GO!! The food may be ok but the service is totally unacceptable, rude, and unprofessional!! Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else!

This is the 5th time we have visited and you did not disappoint. Every time we come down from Manchester to do the theme parks we end up here for dinner. So accomodating. Fantastic service and top notch food. We have and will continue to recommend you to anyone staying at Sunbury premier Inn. Just a short walk and well worth it.

I was curious to try this new(ish) little Mexican restaurant as there's nothing similar cuisine-wise nearby. From the outside, it looks small and it's in an unusual location with not much nearby (quite a residential area next to a busy road with a newsagents/pub) but inside it was lovely! The decoration is great and all of the staff were very friendly. All of the food sounds delicious and I liked that with the number of starters you could almost share several like tapas if you wish. Sadly on this occasion, we skipped starters/desserts and just tried some mains, the chicken fajitas and the 'taco waco' (beef chilli), both of which were really nice. It got very busy throughout the time I was there so it's obviously quite popular and you'd likely need to book during peak times. They also had a great selection of drinks and cocktails, although a happy hour wouldn't go a miss! I will definitely be back at some point to try some more dishes!

Mid-afternoon, having visited family with a long journey ahead, we enjoyed chicken fajitas and beef tacos. The food was excellent. Really fresh and tasty and promptly served. We were very happy to have come across this place.

Loved and enjoyed every second of my now 5 times at Mexican Rico. It's so good I have to keep going back for more!! They not working. Here was note open from 2 pm. Nothing here till 2.30 pm. Still closed. My point of view is: if you dont have or not respect cutomers you never get new visitors. Cant open on time - just write we dont know when we start.

We normally get a takeaway from Mexican Rico and have never been disappointed with the quality and quantity of food delivered. This week to decided to treat ourselves to a sit down meal and had a wonderful evening. Service was friendly and menu choices were clearly explained. I am a vegetarian that were plenty of delicious options. The decor is bright and inviting and the staff really chatty and engaging but not overbearing. The food was as good as ever and we had a very enjoyable evening.
