The best restaurants serving Mexican food in England

Really disappointed with last nights meal the quality and service has drastically deteriorated. Been coming here for 22 years and was our go to restaurant in Plymouth. Service wise- poor choice of drinks due to most not being available. Only draught lager was Carlsberg (which was also the case last time we visited many months before). My wife wanted a glass of Merlot but was told house wine only- funny that it’s the same price as the more expensive wines that were unavailable- much like the lager (Carlsberg at the unavailable San Miguel price)! Should have been a warning sign when the restaurant was so cold (no heating?) and the menus were paper copies with the christmas menus on them. Wasn’t offered any sauces (used to always get offered a selection of chillis sauces- they used have a vast selection but recently had encona only with a bottle even having its £1 price label still left On it). The starter chilli potato skin was dry and tough to cut, like it had been frozen and microwaved. The mains were awful. Had chicken enchiladas dozens of times at this restaurant but the quality has really slipped. Had a strong taste of aniseed/liquirice like supermarket meals and the meat was like the small pieces you get in the cold meat Selection at a supermarket. They used to make such a great enchiladas with shredded chicken breast. Such a disappointment this is no longer the case. To wrap it up my wife had a long hair wrapped around her chips. We paid up and left leaving no tip for the first time ever leaving this restaurant disappointed. Such a shame will miss this place for what it used to be!

We've been going here for years and it's always been good food, some times you have to wait a bit as staff changes quite alot we went yesterday and ordered 4 mojitos and they were the worst, just soda water a glass of crushed ice and mint and that's how it tasted, we complained and they took them away and when they came back you could taste the bacardi but no lime or sugar syrup simply the worst cocktail and they put an extra £18 on the bill at the end for the extra bacardi, we won't be going back

The service was quick, the food was fantastic and staff are very friendly. Strongly recommend going here for first class food.

Food was very tasty and served really nice. Stevie brings great and friendly atmosphere to this place! We spent very nice afternoon with my boyfriend and for sure we will come back again! Lovely experience!

Our second visit, and not (I hope) our last. One of several reasons we choose Penrith to break a long journey overnight. Pleasant atmosphere, good food, good service, very popular - book beforehand if you can

Booked for post shopping trip lunch. Service was great, waiters attentive and quick. Food was ok, a bit bland could've done with some coriander and chilli. Starter dishes nice, chicken wings and pork belly lovely!! but nachos and beans in need of a kick. Tacos were hit and miss. Halloumi got thumbs up but birria tacos burnt. Expensive for what we had but guess prime spot in Albert Dock to be expected!!

Qué lugar fantástico. La comida es increíble, la mezcla de sabores sublime... No estoy bromeando. Le di a esto un sólido 9 sobre 10. Tenía las patatas fritas cargadas de calor americanas pero intercambié chorizo con el pollo tirado. La elección de intercambiar sabores también es una gran idea. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The food was lovely. After my plate was taken away I sat and waited to order a dessert. Despite catching the attention of the waiting staff after over 30 minutes of waiting I gave it up as a bad job and went to the bar to ask for the bill. I asked for the service charge to be removed due to the wait but was not asked why. Disappointing, as the initial service was good, and the restaurant seemed to quieten down as the evening went on so it was strange

Alimentos y bebidas de calidad razonable a precios razonables. Decepcionado por la salsa que era más como un puré de tomate. El servicio era muy amable.

Really lovely people and food - a bit too much hot sauce on the enchilada, overtook the flavour of the chilli con carne. EDIT: the hot sauce didn't make the food too spicy, it just made it very vinegary and acidic!

Cuando llegamos allí para una cena temprana, el restaurante estaba vacío, pero comenzó a llenarse y el personal era amable y acogedor. Pedimos recomendaciones y la camarera conocía bien el menú, mi amiga tenía alergias y confiaba en gestionar sus peticiones. Los cócteles eran encantadores y había una oferta especial en cacatúas. Pedimos toda la lubina, estaba preciosa y fresca y caliente y cocinada bien. Estaba muy impresionado por la comida y el servicio y sin duda volveríamos. Una cosa más, no agregaron una gratitud por el servicio en el recibo, pero hay un frasco en la barra para dejar propinas, así que me alegro de tener algo de efectivo para darles propina, ¡como se lo merecían!

Could not praise the company service any higher. I think he may have been the manager and I’m sorry I don’t have his name but he is the perfect example of how customer service should be. I made a mistake and he sorted it for me and never charged me. Outstanding.

Very good Cafe 66, competitive prices and good staff, had couple of light snacks all good so is the breakfasts. Staff also good

Chips are no longer vegetarian or gluten free as now cooked with chicken as they do not have enough fryers to keep them separate
