The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in Edinburgh and Lothian

We ate here for my wife's birthday, oh what a fantastic choice. It is BYOB which is a nice change , the food was absolutely fantastic. The owner is so nice and helpful . He has as well as the restaurant a selection of deli products on sale for you to take away and try to replicate the dishes on the menu, a must in my view.

I love that Edinburgh now has take-away that doesn't involve food saturated in grease. The cauliflower Mac and cheese is delicious as are the prawns. My partner had the pork belly and dauphinoise potatoes, said he couldn't fault it! Thanks back burner!

Truly everything we tried had an authentic taste of Greece and even better. Naxos cheese pie top! Coffee fantastic!

Fantastic restaurant. The food and atmosphere are brilliant, the service is great and it's incredibly good value. A dose of the Aegean in central Edinburgh - what could be better?

You need to update your location in Google maps Mitsos! First time to be "catfished" by a restaurant! 🫣😅 Felt like the myth of the flying Dutch the effect of Fata Morgana... the restaurant was completely shut for this specific location of the Google maps!

We came across this place the first time by chance while looking for a place to have lunch and it was so amazing that we decided to come back for our last dinner in Edinburgh. Excellent food, a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with very kind and professional staff. Special mention to Justyna who was our waitress both times and she was fantastic! Absolutely worth a try!

Went in this little cafe place as chance , and wow, breakfast was delicious! Great selection of items on the menu and selection of cakes too! Can’t fault the service too! Will definitely return to this little gem when we are back in Edinburgh!

Erstklassig türkische Küche einfach “hohe Qualität und sehr lecker”. Die Bedienungen sehr freundlich und höflich. War in der Woche am Dienstagabend voll scheint sehr beliebt zu sein.

Came here for breakfast before heading to the airport. The food was amazing! I had the ‘Tower Sandwich’ and my word was it delicious! I was served with food within about ten minutes of ordering. The cafe got quite busy, telling me this is a popular spot. Highly recommended!

Necesitaba desayuno una mañana y así que vine aquí para encontrar un ambiente encantador con una variedad de personas dentro. Es un poco apretado a veces como es popular pero por una razón. Recomendaría los huevos Benedict. Seguramente volverá aquí.

Mi esposa y yo estábamos en la calle Andrews Square. Nos apetecía un Meze turco y este fue altamente valorado, uno de los mejores restaurantes de Edimburgo aparentemente. Así que caminamos el largo camino y llegamos. Supongo que las mesas de plástico deberían habernos avisado. Pedí un Adana Kebab esperando trozos de pollo y cordero con ensalada y arroz. Lo que me dieron fue dos trozos grasientos de carne re-formada y conformada con un poco de ensalada flácida y una pequeña porción de arroz. Yuk. Y ciertamente no refleja el ranking de TripAdvisor o la mancha del restaurante. Ni siquiera era barato. Pero lo peor fue caminar de vuelta al hotel por Rose Street y pasar por muchos restaurantes mejores que sirven exactamente el tipo de comida que pensamos que estábamos recibiendo, pero no lo hicimos. No me gusta dejar malas críticas pero es necesario en este caso para que el ranking refleje el restaurante.

Exceptional turkish cuisine, we took two combo tasting menus and everything was fantastic. Relaxed atmosphere in a cozy turkish inspired environment — and the owner is a very friendly and nice guy :)

Had a lovely meal here, we ate at 6pm on a Friday evening and there were tables but it started to get very busy by 7pm so recommend booking. The staff were friendly, efficient and attentive. The food was top class, really tasty. Had a delicious halloumi salad too. Highly recommend.
