The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in England

Extremely disappointing!!!! For a Lebanese restaurant you would expect some flavour in the wrap! There was no tahini, hoummous or any Lebanese dips within the wrap. It was a pre made wrap displayed in the unit that warmed up thrown on a plate with no sides add one pickled chilli and served! Awful service and disgraceful food!!! I do not recommend anyone who is looking for tasty Lebanese food to come here!

This was our third time going to The George but unfortunately will not be going back. We sat in the bar area due to having a small dog with us. We stood waiting for a member of staff for over 5 minutes, before going and finding someone to ask for our table. She was very dismissive and seemed annoyed we were there. We were then sat at the wrong table. It took over 45 minutes for the food to arrive, with starters being forgotten, and dishes were luke warm. I felt quite sorry for the one member of staff on the bar who seemingly had to serve people drinks, take food orders, collect plates of food, clear the tables and sort out the bill without any help from other members of staff. It is a shame as the food itself is of a high quality, if a bit on the pricey side, and the restaurant caters well for various dietary requirements. We left feeling more of an inconvenience than a valued customer and won't be returning.

We are Ludlow locals, and have watched the full refurbishment of this previously public house, then pizza restaurant. The alterations are amazing, with a complete transition in style and focus on the clientele. This was our first visit, and we had heard of the inconsistent service and food delivery problems from friends since The George opened. Yet, as we believe in making up our own minds - here is our assessment. At the 'Please wait to be seated' notice, there was nobody, but a waitress arrived shortly. Even though we had booked previously, she permitted us to choose our table as there were several available. A second waitress arrived soon afterwards to take our drinks order. She was pleasant and smiled each time she attended to us. I advised her that I am a coeliac, and it was pleasing to see that a good proportion of the dishes on the menu were marked 'gf' (gluten-free). As with many restaurants these days, the dish descriptions don't quite tell the whole story, which may be a practical issue so that the kitchen can make slight adjustments without the need to refer back to the customer. My husband had to chase up the olive oil/ balsamic dip that was supposed to come with his flat bread. It arrived quickly with an apology. He enjoyed his steak dinner, and my pollo picante was very tasty. We did not have a dessert, just affogatos. Overall, a pleasant experience - we will go again. There were several families having a meal, suggesting it is a good venue for them, especially early in the evening, and that may support Ludlow's tourism. Only time will tell if the standards can be maintained.

Visited Delicio’s for lunch and were shocked at how rude and uninterested the staff were from the minute we walked in. Appeared to have a real issue with us having a small pram. We waited an eternity just to get a menu and eventually gave up. We went elsewhere for our lunch and were better off for it.

Totally overpriced tasteless roast dinner, served by most unfriendly staff. Watery gravy with no flavour. Served by sour faced staff... Pizza chef eating and using his phone with the same hand as throwing ingredients on the bad pizza. Get over yourselves lord Stanley

We had a great experience since the new management have taken over. The food and service was amazing from start to finish. The whole experience was so enjoyable compared to previous times we came to visit. Highly recommend!

Couldn’t fault this place - although the waiting staff are a bit stony faced they are pretty efficient in serving which is the most important thing. Food is great - I knew it would be once I passed the front counter! Meat and kebabs piled high waiting to go on the grill. Portions generous and prices good. Would have liked a nice Turkish beer to wash down my lunch but instead the turkish tea did the job. Would come back if in the area. PS the meat platters looked amazing!

Becoming a favourite of ours now. Had a lovely lunch. We were served by Yasmin who was super friendly and helpful . Food was delicious too.

El precio no es absolutamente adecuado para el tamaño de la porción. Sinceramente, no me sentí lleno en absoluto. No se trata de ser tacaño, pero por ese precio, la porción es realmente muy pequeña. La comida está bien, pero probablemente no volveré a comer aquí.

Used to be quite good....but gone right downhill.....awful rubbery flavourless meat.....bad service and the 2 young lady staff quite rude and abrupt.Stopped going there....food is horrible and tasteless now....never used to be.

As always the food was great and the service friendly. One little gripe though - with winter coming (it was pouring when we arrived) - it might be a good idea to have a few coat racks and umbrella stands as one enters the restaurant.

Fantastic food. Great service Best restaurant at port lympne animal park. Could not fault it. It is a must when you stay.

Best restaurant in Loughborough. Good music and food definitely a place to come in Loughborough. Friends all had a good time on the weekend

Mi amigo había reservado para una fiesta de 12 , sin embargo al llegar el encargado nos había dicho que había dado nuestra mesa a un gran paseo en grupo. Mi amigo había confirmado la reserva con el restaurante a través de texto y correo electrónico, sin embargo, el gerente declaró que como ella había respondido fuera de su horario de trabajo no podía confirmar la reserva. Él dijo que nos había llamado varias veces, pero para cuando había llamado, ya estábamos en camino al restaurante y estábamos bajo tierra y como tal, no tenía recepción / servicio para recibir o recoger una llamada. Luego dijo que podíamos sentarnos en el salón, pero tendríamos que salir a las 9 pm (1 hora y 30 minutos), ya que el salón tendría prioridad para aquellos que quieran ver la pelea de Anthony Joshua. Luego nos dio una segunda opción de esperar una hora hasta que el paseo en la fiesta había terminado.

The resturant is now closed permanantly. When open it was a great place, very interesting unusual and a place for fun. It has been closed for months now due to the recession in Britain.
