We had a quite fine dinner, the food was good but not excellent, the staff looked inexperienced but kind and gentle that s more important.

No tenemos NINGUNA HOUMOUS.

Save yourself a lot of stress and do NOT come here. We waited more than 90 minutes for 5 out of 7 dishes of our traditional meze, with one dish arriving every 15 minutes. Not sure what was going on but seems like they had no food to sell on a Friday next get, everything was sold out, terrible small portions and apparently they were making houmous from scratch at 10 pm. Shocking management, the staff were overworked and had no clue what was going on.

Viisited for the first time with a 'birthday' party group of 13.Was shown down to the traditionally themed basement, with lavishly curtained ceilings and walls, dimly lit by several ornate lamps hanging from the ceiling and with low bunk seating with numerous cushions and padded stools and traditional low brass tables - all looking very pretty/exotic, but rather cramped and first thought, with all the material on show and in this confined downstairs space, was that there was no evidence on sight of any fire exit...second was that several of the group, including myself, had noticed the strange aroma...of joss-sticks and drains!!Within a few minutes, we were greeted by a very over enthusiastic American male, who even more enthusiastically told us what wonderful things we could expect and proceeded to take our drinks orders...strangely telling us in detailed description, about the types of wine variety he had, but thar he only had one bottle of this, and one bottle of that, and maybe three bottles of something else - I ordered a simple gin and soda, which he then bizarrely said he would get the 'kitchen prepare' (??) - it took half an hour!! He returned flamboyantly with a kilner jam jar, half filled with ice and half a lemon and clutching a bottle of mineral water, and then proceeded to dramatically tell me loudly how he would pour the water in carefully to my specific taste due to the amount of gin the jar contained (not a lot)...as though he was preparing some extravagant cocktail!! And then to the food.... We had ordered 2 veg and 5 meat meze @ £30 for two persons. It arrived erratically and inconsistently (and amusingly - with the waiter hitting his head on one of the hanging lamps - which he kept doing throughout the evening)! - the food presented in tiny bowls that we were expected to share, containing barely enough for one. We were initially given one small plate of pitta bread - two pitta breads cut into strips...for 13 people (!!) and had to ask Captain America for more. And then it got even stranger - after noticing more inconsistency in what was being served - eg., 4 tiny plates of even tinier chicken wings instead of the 5 we'd ordered, then 4 plates of spiced sausage, we brought this up with Captain America again, who just said with a smile on his face, "well,we've run out of sausage, would you like more bread??" - No apology and on pressing, said, (still with a smile on his face, but still no apology), that is was because of a big party the night before??! We were eating on a Saturday evening, usually the busiest day of the week and they were running out of food?!And so it continued....bit like Oliver Twist....'Please Sir, can we have some more' (of anything you've got!!After we'd eaten what we were provided with (not a lot!)....Captain America and two waiters arrived unexpectedly, bearing a plate with 3 tiny baklava's and a lighted candle (still no sign of a fire exit)' singing Happy Birthday. Oh yummy, baklava....deserts...and with anticipation, after the let down with the lack of ordered food...we ordered baklava...... Hmmm, yep - our American friend smiled from cheek-to-cheek and said (you've guessed it!)' "oh dear, we haven't any baklava left - we gave our last three to the Birthday Boy!!"Time to complain....and we did politely....but Mr Smiley Patonising America then said (beaming from ear-to-ear) "oh dear, are you all getting cross with me....are you all getting angry with me??!!".....er yes, especially if you don't stop smiling as if this level,of service is completely normal!! He then made a dramatic and kindly gesture to knock of the 12.5% service charge!! We then, more assertively but again politely reiterated, that although we had enjoyed the dishes we had been provided with (however sparten), that it is the norm, that if dishes are not available or are running low, this should be made clear at the time of ordering....he then reluctantly took off the cost of one meze. And finally...in keeping with the traditional theme....you are not able to flush away toilet paper, but must use the very tiny and overflowing bin provided....apparently the bin for the men's toilet its actually situated outside the toilet itself and by the wash basin, so they have to carry their used paper with them!

This is my second visit to Kaslik. The first time around we went as a large group and so when the huge bill came it was easier just to split it and assume that some people had drunk a lot of spirits. My visit to Kaslik last night was part of a group of 12 people, some of whom were just eating and some who were just drinking. Despite us asking a reasonable request for meze (I eat a lot of meze so I know when the portions are stingy) to feed half the group, we were provided with the poorest amount of food. Those that ordered things like mixed grills were brought plates that resembled 'child meals'. We complained after we realised that no more food was being brought out to us and the waiter took £70 off the bill. To be honest, we should have just walked out as it was beyond unsatisfactory. We were ALL still hungry.

Perhaps we should have known when we walked through the door on Thursday 8th january and we were met eventually by an obsequious American manager and waiter who was not even trained up yet. This has been one of our favourite restaurants in Soho for some time but not any more. One starter only arrived with the main, mixed grill meat poor quality, small amount and dry, prawns were mush and inedible. When we complained we were not offered any proper apology or money back and they were not bothered that we might post a review. Dreadful and it spoiled our evening.

Dropped in after reading the menu in the window for a quick birthday meal on the way to the theatre. We choose the mixed meze for two. Everything we had was tasty, well presented and plentiful. Our charming waitress told us that we would have plenty of food for two and we certainly did. I got the impression that the restaurant was fairly new, for example, they were waiting to receive a card machine, coming the next day. I am sure that if they keep up the fantastic standard of their food and service they will do very well. I will go back when I am in London next.

Definitely have a try here if you have a tastecard - instantly more affordable. I don't think it is good value for money if you're paying full price. The services is extremely slow (so don't go if you're already starving!!) but friendly, and the restaurant looks great with colourful decor and cushion seats. To tie in with the theme, you eat off massive tray-tables around lanterns and drapes. Slightly less functional, but a bit of fun. The food was ok, small portions and meat dry. But their veg dishes were much better.

Having read some great reviews of this little Lebanese restaurant in Greek street, I booked it for dinner with a friend and his son who were visiting London from abroad. I love Lebanese food and fancied something tasty, fresh and not too heavy.Perhaps this is where things went awry. My expectations and the reality were way out of synch. I honestly don't know where they got their recipes, but the food was dull, heavy and without the freshness that bursts with taste and flavours that I've come to expect from Middle Eastern Food. We hardly ate any of the dishes, but yet I came away feeling definitely nauseous and heavy - as if I'd eaten a huge meat-frenzied meal. (My food was entirely vegetarian)The other point about this restaurant is don't go if you want to feel comfortable. The small table we were given was a struggle to put our dishes on, and my companion complained about sitting on a low stool for such a long time. It is atmospheric, but as a restaurant, I don't think it quite works - kitsch Middle East substitutes for comfort.I'm really sorry this place didn't measure up to my expectations. I don't know whether we just happened upon an off night, or perhaps we expected too much. It is however very reasonably priced for the area. Perhaps that should have been the clue.Sorry Kaslik

Visited with a couple friends on a tuesday evening using tastecard. It is clear every effort has been made to make the restaurant look its best, and surely attracts people. People with back problems might struggle due to the seating and table arrangement! I had the mixed grill which came with a salad, pitta bread and sauces. The food was lovely in my opinion but perhaps a little small. A lebanese beer was only £2.50 seemed very reasonable. Only wish the food had taken longer to arrive so we could enjoy the surroundings for longer.

We walked past here on a Wednesday evening and the decor and menu caught our eye. After a glass of wine at The Dog and Duck around the corner, my friend and I decided to go in and try it out for dinner. When we got back I was disheartened to see the place was full, this was a Wednesday after all and so I didn't expect this. However the waiter checked the bookings and was able to find us a table, my friend had a small suitcase with her and the waiter took this off her and kept it safe so that it wasn't in our way. The decor that had caught our eye from the outside was even lovelier once we were sat down, with an (unsurprisingly for a Lebanese restaurant) authentic middle eastern feel. The restaurant was quite small but wasn't cramped and had a lovely atmosphere. The menu had a good range of choices including about 18 different cold and hot mezze dishes from approx £4 upwards. For people wanting something more substantial there were a range of dishes from the grill, and my friend and I both had food envy at the girl next to us eating her amazing looking king prawn skewers. We were pleased to see a few cocktails on the menu as well as a range of wines and beers. My friend and I both opted for a gin mohito and were both surprised that when these arrived the glasses were not crammed with crushed ice instead of alcohol as they so often are, indeed they were a decent size for the price we paid (£6 odd) and most importantly they were bloody nice, I could have easily had another if it wasn't a school night. My friend and I opted for a range of hot and cold mezze. We had the jalepeno hummus which was pleasant enough if a little ordinary, however, that the hummus was a little ordinary is honestly, the worst thing I can say about this place. The rest of the food that we ate was absolutely lovely! I had the most delicious falafels that I have ever had, they were so light and tasty, we also both thoroughly enjoyed the baby aubergines stuffed with walnuts and the vine leaves were just so moreish. We also had fried aubergines with a balsamic and yogurt dressing, arabic rice, grilled haloumi and pitta breads all of which were very nice and went down well. For both my friend and I the star of the show were the walnut stuffed baby aubergines and I will definitely be going back for more soon!! After our mains we shared a portion of baklava of which we have both had a few in different places and agreed that these were up there with the best we'd experienced. For two cocktails, six mezzes plus a side dish of rice and two glasses of white wine our bill, including service charge came to £68 which we felt for such a lovely meal and such good service was very reasonable. Another thing that I liked about this restaurant was that I left feeling a lot less guilty than I would have if I had gone for a pizza or a curry, yes there was a bit of alcohol, a drop of olive oil , a smidge of cheese...oh and the baklava, but on the whole the food was wholesome and felt good. We're not vegetarians but almost accidentally we chose a vegetarian meal and when we left we both remarked that we felt satisfied but not as stuffed or as sluggish (or guilty for that matter) as we would have done perhaps if we'd gone for an Italian or Chinese meal and so I would recommend it for a guilt free weekday meal out.All in all it was a lovely restaurant, with a gorgeous interior and equally lovely food and service. The combination of healthy mezzes and perhaps the more filling (and also lovely looking) larger meat dished makes this a restaurant that you could frequent both midweek or at weekends. They also do take out lunch boxes and if I worked anywhere nearby I think I would go for one of these on a regular basis. I think it's safe to say I will be returning.

We stumbled across Kaslik on a Saturday evening when trying to find a restaurant in Soho. The restaurant looked tiny but lovely, and the menu looked really appealing so we took a chance here. We turned up at 8pm without reservation and were seated immediately at a large, circular gold plate as our table with little stools and cushions to sit on. The decor was something different, with a real Moroccan feel to it (hanging lamps and drapes etc). The waiter was quick and efficient and our food was brought out in a respectable time. We opted for hummus with pitta, a side salad, arabic rice with coconut, a chicken shawarma and a lamb dish - all of which were delicious. The cocktails (especially the wildberry with vodka and ginger) were really yummy and not extortionately priced for central London. This was a great little find in Soho, glad we came across it and would definitely go back.

I ate at Kaslik last night as part of a group of four and found the food to be of great quality with very friendly staff. We were seated by the door upstairs, which I think is one of the best tables in the restaurant as it's one of the largest, which is a must if you order as much food as we did. We did have to wait a little while for our food, however we had ordered a large number of mezze plates and the others in my group also ordered kebabs. Also, it seemed that everyone dining at the restaurant had arrived at once and therefore the kitchen was obviously very busy. The food was certainly worth the wait once it did arrive and we found it to be of good value. There is plenty of food to satisfy everyone, with a great choice for vegetarians. My particular favourites were the fattoush, the batata harra and the moutabal, which was the best that I'd ever tried. I would certainly eat at Kaslik in future.

Dined there on 19th December. Laid-back waiter with pony-tail took our order but didn't write it down. Meze and drinks arrived promptly but there followed a delay of 1 hour 40 minutes during which time various waiting staff (including the waiter who took our order) smiled at us as they walked past the table. The restaurant was extremely busy so we made allowances for the wait, but what we did not expect was to be told after the hour and forty minutes that the waiter had failed to record our main course orders onto the system!! This is what happens if incompetent waiters do not write down orders but try to memorise them. The waiter who told us there was no record of our order was not "our" waiter (who kept out of out way). The final insult was when we requested the bill and were asked whether or not we wanted the service charge taken off the bill - it having been added to it. Restaurants so badly managed as this don't deserve to survive.

It's rare for me to write a review a restaurant without having eaten there, but since I had to walk out of Kaslik before even being served, I thought I'd make an exception. We had a booking for a group of friends and, having already read the mixed reviews online, wasn't expecting too much. Unfortunately, even my already lowered expections were reduced upon entering their downstairs function area. It stank like a toilet, and had a layout totally innapropriate for dining. It was more like a shisha lounge, with arabic style cushions and rugs, with a lot of the seats not having proper access to the tables. Upon arrival a waiter handed us menus, but then took umbrage at the fact we wanted to order from that menu and not one of the set menus he kept telling us about. We said we wanted to order from the menus given, and then decided the awful smell and bad attitude was all we could handle. We walked out whilst the waiter went upstairs to speak with the manager. It's a shame, as I was looking forward to dinner with friends. I certainly can't recommend Kaslik to anyone, and am surprised it's still in business.

Are you in soho and want to run away from London for a while to Morocco? Come here, at least this feeling I had after entering this place and took a place around a table which was made by big golden plate. Luckily we didn't read reviews before, because that would put me off and we can't really complain about our experience. We loved the Arabic decor with sheets and lamps on the ceiling and nice relaxing music in background. Even if the place is small there were two waiters who run around all the time and were there anytime we needed them. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them. We had humus with meat and pita for the starter and really big king prawns and mix grill for the mains. If I can recommend, do not order salad as there was lovely vegetables decoration on plates which supplement salad very well. Everything was very tasteful and accompanied by house wine which was surprisingly good as well. In the end they have us baklava on the house and we were leaving this place with very good feeling.

Went here with work. Arrived about 20 minutes later due to work commitments. The waiter was not interested in serving. Literally had to ask for menu, glass. The waiter didn't even ask if I wanted something to have anything to drink. Had to repeat my order twice before the waiter even acknowledged my order. 40 minutes after placing the order of Aubergine Moussaka I went to ask if they had maybe forgotten my order. The same waiter waived at me and sighed that, the food was coming. It did, 5 minutes later, 45 minutes after placing the order. The waiter didn't even bother to give cutleries. He just pointed to another table that was unseated asking me to get it myself!!! The Moussaka was meant to come with chickpeas, but there was only Aubergine with tomatosauce served with an additional portion of rice. The other shared platters were average standard but nothing spectacular. Until we actually asked for the bill, there was no sign of any waiter anywhere asking if we wanted other drinks, food, desserts or even if the food was good. Adding all this does not make up the nice decor and cosy environment. I will never set my foot here again and certainly never recommend it to anyone else. London is full of good lebanese restaurants offering better food and certainly better service.

This restaurant in Soho was a surprise. Since we had not booked a table, the manager asked us to wait 5 minutes. Lamb was delicious. Recommended to a group of friends (max 5 people).

This is a fantastic little place right in the middle of Soho (a stone's throw away from Soho Square) that looks quite pokey from the outside, but don't let that put you off. The atmosphere is fantastic and it's a very sociable and cosy restaurant. The starters were excellent (I can highly recommend the falafel and hummus with pitta bread) and they are incredibly filling. The mixed grill, with chicken and prawns was a particular favourite of mine and the Arabic fries (with garlic and thyme) went down a treat. The service was prompt, the waiters friendly and helpful and the food was outstanding. It's a little pricey, especially for Central London — an individual starter and main course with a side of fries came to around £17 but for the whole atmosphere and quality of food, I cannot recommend it enough.

I cannot fault the service at all - we were attended to straight away, given a choice of tables and looked after all night. We had a mezze for 2 (£28), grilled halloumi, a mixed grill to share, one beer, 2 waters and a diet coke and the bill came to £62. (Including 12.5% service charge) The food as ever was delicious - my only minor negative was that the mixed grill was a bit paltry for £12. It was still delicious though. The mezze is gorgeous and all dishes were explained to us. The baba ganoush is still the nicest I've ever tasted. Definitely worth a visit

We decided to change our restaurant on the last minute due to an appointment to meet a friend in Soho. On that night we're feeling like middle eastern food and for our surprise this place was spot on!I called 30 min before going to make a reservation and the staff was super friendly. Also when we arrived there the atmosphere was happy, loud and decoration matching everything you would find in a restaurant in the Middle East!We ordered a selection of cold and hot mezze, which included, stuffed vines leaves, hommus, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, falafel, vegetarian kibbeh, lebanese spicy lamb sausages, pitta bread and marinated chicken wings grilled, served with garlic puree! After we ordered it took 10min and the food was in our table! We're so surprised and wondering if all that quick serve would bring also any bad surprise with the food, but fortunately it didn't! Everything was really tasty and fresh! We saw all this food coming onto our small table, they nearly had to put something alway but we put the pitta straight in our plates and gave them a tiny space left to fit the last dish!Awesome quick meal! Only two of us and couldn't finish it all, huuuge portion that could perfectly feed three. The staff were great, always smiling and around! We had a bottle of lebanese white wine for the first time ever and it was actually quite nice! Can't wait to visit them again!

The most important thing to note is that the LAMB SHAWARMA had a lot of cinnamon in it - so long as you like this you will find it delicious (as my husband did) but I didn't like it at all. Our starters eventually arrived after an hour and a half from arrival, the starters were great but didn't really have time to enjoy it as the main came 5 minutes afterwards and with no space for the plates we had to shovel the food in as quick as possible.
