The best restaurants serving Mediterranean food in Brighton and Hove South East

We went out because I hurt my leg six weeks ago and I wanted to see if I could drive. So we picked the Marina for the free parking. We don't like Wetherspoons so we drifted into Aydo. It's nicely done out, and comfortable. The Muzak is just dreadful , tacky light jazz covers of Xmas songs,awful, and as we are musicians, it spoiled the experience. The place was almost empty so the waiter came over pretty fast. We could not drink alcohol because I was driving and my husband might have had to take over due to the leg. The waiter seemed irritated. I used to, on a previous career, write about the hospitality industry so I understand that alcohol and soft drinks are where the profits mostly lie, but we don't day drink anyway. We asked for water, I had to ask for it twice, he did not take it in. My husband had a seafood casserole which was excellent apparently, good ingredients and nicely cooked. We both enjoyed the rice and the side salad with pomegranate dressing, yummy. I had a 'steak moussaka' the steak was good quality but, where was the Cinnamon? WEIRD!! I have eaten in both Greek, Turkish and Middle Eastern restaurants in all those countries and France, where there's a great Lebanese Restaurant in Dieppe, but I've never had a moussaka with no Cinnamon. Another small gripe, I went to the loo and it took me a good five minutes to extract paper from the loo roll device as the roll was too big for it. These people were professional but not very friendly. I wouldn't go there again. They need to up their game: if there's one thing I know about Brighton it is fierce competition in the hospitality business.

Llevo muchos años viniendo aquí, siempre he tenido muy buen servicio y el personal siempre profesional. Este es un café con buenos aperitivos y pasteles portugueses. Recomendaría esta joya en los Siete Diales a cualquiera.

Paramos a desayunar a mitad de semana. Muchas opciones de batidos pero optamos por café y papilla con diferentes coberturas. Recién preparado y delicioso!

Muy buena comida. Gente agradable. Vamos a llevar al perro también. Definitivamente vale la pena una visita. No están mal los precios, sirve sidra. Recomendado.

Excellent taste! Authentic ambiance. We were really pleased. The lady and the gentleman working there are very friendly. They make you feel at home. My specialty is lamb shish. Their fish is also supper delicious. It is impossible to leave the table without being full. Also the prices are the most affordable you can find in Brighton. I don't understand those who give bad comments. Do these people not understand food at all!!?! This is the place we visit at least once a week with my partner and friends. I definitely recommend this place. The baklava and tea they serve from home after the meal is a great detail. You are guaranteed to leave the table with a smile on your face. Those who don't go will regret it !

What a lovely restaurant, situated in the Lanes of Brighton. The staff were very friendly and it felt very relaxed. The ambience was perfect for our meal for two. We had a steak dinner with some added sides. The steaks were cooked to our liking, and my husband was so impressed with the salad dressing, he asked for the recipe. We will definitely be recommending IL Bistro to friends and family …….

Unassuming on the outside, wonderful on the inside. This tiny place is a goldmine of scrumptious home cooked food & top quality groceries! Family owned & run by passionate humans, their Middle Eastern roots bring amazing flavours to all their home cooked dishes, eat in or take away. Also a great selection of organic & natural wines, and cake, omg the cake!!! Best deli cafe in Brighton, hands down.

A lovely cafe in the heart of Kemptown offering a delicious range of cakes, pastries and sandwiches. Very upmarket.

Good pub. Good staff and service. Has bug screens but they aren't too intrusive .

Extremely rude & poor service. Manger/owner extremely rude, spoke very unprofessionally with us he even swore on many occasions. I would never go back again as clearly they do not know how to treat customers. Avoid avoid avoid!!!!

The wrap was ok but the guy who was preparing them took about 30 minutes to prepare one, although we were 3 customers waiting there

Came in from a quick dinner with five friends. I asked for a tortilla. The WAITERS response was i'm sorry we had two servings left and your table has ordered it. I asked why could they make me a fresh one which he replied we make it in batches of four and we close till Tuesday and i doubt we will sell any more i ate there months before and no issues. This guy need to learn some customer service skills i ended up walking out leaving my friends behind as he berated me. Just because i didn't tell him it was fine. IT WANTED FONE ITS THE ONLY THING I WANTED

The food here is good! I especially love the wings! Im still trying out the whole menu.. Granted the wait for food is sometimes a little long but it's worth the wait. I've only ordered to go so I can't speak on the dine in experience but the staff I've encountered including the owner have been more than friendly and professional.
