Yefsis of Greece in Brighton and Hove

The wrap was ok but the guy who was preparing them took about 30 minutes to prepare one, although we were 3 customers waiting there

The thing is if the food was hot it may be very good, but honestly it would be quicker sometimes just to fly to Greece and get a wrap than wait over 3 hours for a delivery here.Portion size is good, quality looks good, it's just cold.

We ordered a large amount of food for a special occasion for our daughter, to be delivered by deliveroo, the restaurant accepted the order, but when the deliveroo driver arrived to pick it up, the restaurant was closed. The order was cancelled and we were left with no food to celebrate a special occasion, don't bother ordering from them, as they just mess you around, should not have accepted the order if the place was closed. Very disappointing.

Ordered via Deliveroo, order accepted. 1 hour later when not arrived, called restaurant for them to say they do not open until later and order to be cancelled! Wrong opening times listed on Deliveroo and Yefsis website, poor customer service, no apology or offer to complete order quickly! Have ordered directly from Yefsis website before and waited nearly 2 hours for delivery. A shame because the food is usually delicious if it ever arrives! Unlikely to use again!

We ordered on the 17th February, and while the order was slightly late it was wonderful. We have ordered in the past and definitely will order again. When the order arrived, the owner of the restaurant came to the door and apologised for the lateness. Very polite and no issue anyway. Food was perfect and couldn’t recommend more.

We ordered food and said our doorbell doesnt work and please when you arrive call us. When the delivery driver WOMAN has arrived she just started to shouting and swearing. She was pissed of.It could be bad weather but it was the most rude one ever. I dont recommend anyone.

Can't fault it. Covid secure with plastic screens between tables. Food enjoyed by everyone with plenty of left overs to be enjoyed at home. Very reasonably priced.

Él necesita trabajar en sus habilidades de servicio al cliente ya que yo trabajo en un área de servicio al cliente y no aplicamos la política de máscaras, ya que es el trabajo de la policía. good for cheap eats but personally wouldnt think of it as a final destination for a night out. lunch perhaps.

Had an amazing meal at Yefsis tonight, we ordered the Athenian hunger platter... every bit was delicious. Would highly recommend! Lovely evening out. Friendly staff and great service.

The food here is exceptional. Me and my partner got some wonderful wraps and sides. We will definitely be getting food here again.

Everything was poor. Potatoe chips seem to have been cooked the day prior soggy and cold. (Usually you can taste when fries are fresh and have been cooked on the spot. The mushroom were dry and tasteless: Taste like card box really. Chicken skewer was just ok and other meatball with lamb was dry and burned. So first and last online order from this supplier.

The bag with the food had the right ticket but there was 28 pounds worth of food missing. Nobody has answered the phone. We have been in person customers several times previously but I will Not be returning when the restaurant opens again. The photos show what was received and what was paid for

Terrible terrible food. Gutted TBH. Had such high expectations having walked past their London Road shop - the stuff in the window looked incredible. Phoned to complain and they said I should take up my issues with Deliveroo ‍♀️ Oh yeah - cos they make the food

Ordered a take away for myself and friends only to have this delivered ... have eaten in the restaurant on numerous occasions and have enjoyed but now very embarrassed and disappointed after waiting 1hour 15 minutes to have this delivered ...

The greek girl working as a waiter has treated us very badly from the beginning until the end. She doesn't want to try to be polite even when we tried to be an extra polite. Sparse food and rude staff. :(

We went today and ordered two wraps, chicken and pork. They served us a minimum amount of meat, which was also burn and very dry in both plates, and a lot of potatoes on top fried in maybe too used oil. We could clearly see the the oil were burn from the amount of smoke coming from the deep fryers.The waitress was very nice but gave a bit silly explanation when we mentioned the tiny amount of meat.

Ordered through ubereats. First off beer missing, rang staff totally unhelpful, not bothered. Ordered dishes with 3 and 2 pork skewers, came with 2 and a few bits of pork respectively. Place been going downhill of late but this has done it - is expensive but used to be a v good standard, but been falling. Avoid

5 star service and great great food!! Came here to try the restaurant as recently moved to the area really nice welcome we had a shared a platter of food and asked for no pork so we got chicken and vegetables all cooked well and great flavour loads of food I wish I tried the dessert will be back for them the waiter/manger is how you should be in this business friendly helpful and a lovley person who we felt you could ask and speak to about the food ect loved it thanks so much !!!

Went to the London Road restaurant on a Friday night before going to the Duke of York's Cinema.Service was a bit slow although the waitresses were very helpful. Can't fault the food - the Courgette Fritters were delicious, and we shared the Athenian Hunger Platter. It's a lot of food so you won't leave hungry and very reasonable priced. Will definitely be returning.

We loved their food... as Greek we know about Pita Giros and believe me they are much better than a lot of restaurants in our country!! Bravo paidia!!!

Amazing gyros and pitas. Great vegan and veggie dishes as well, wife happy as her new year resolutions are well on track. Reasonable prices and great service.

I have visited yefsis several times n never disappointed. I am addicted to the pork yeeros with paprika sauce. The halloumi starter is also lovely. Prices are very reasonable and quite like the atmosphere in there, particularly in the evening. Only slight criticism is chips are often too greasy and service can be quite inattentive at times. Overall would recommend.

We were looking forward to trying this restaurant for first time, we sat at table and chose meals, all looked good on menu, then waited for order to be taken, for anything....drinks or food, Waited and waited and waited, the older male waiter (owner?) was walking past several times and not once acknowledged us, we gave it some time then decided to leave as we were being ignored. There was no sign we were about to be served anytime soon. Such a shame. The waiter and waitress would have seen us put coats on and walk the length of restaurant to leave but neither seemed to care. Bizarre way to run a business. Was a thursday night, not especially busy.

On the busy and not always salubrious London Road, is this little gem. The food is delicious with portions of heroic size! The best tzaziki (spelling?) I have ever tasted.

I visited the Hove brunch on Sunday morning and left with a mesmerising experience.The food was very good and reminded me of my visit to Greece.The girl who served us was very friendly and professional, had a great chat and made us feel very comfortable.

I usually really love Yefsis and have been many times with my partner and had great food and service. Tonight a friend and I decided to grab dinner, the waitresses were polite but all over the place, one was very clearly drunk and reeked of alcohol and the other seemed very out of it. The guy working was doing his best to keep it going but it was insanely slow and the food wasn’t as good as usual. Really disappointed.

Frequent diner to this restaurant, unpretentious Greek meze food. Big portions, always over order. Good value. Would recommend for a quick bite!

A party of 10 of us visited on a Friday lunchtime having booked. We had a selection of mezades and shared some of their HUGE sharing platters. All the food was good. The staff were welcoming and friendly. There is a pleasant outside eating area. We chose to eat inside where it is a simple cafe/street food style. It is good value for money and made a nice change form the usual lunch. (Hove branch).

Went on a Wednesday night (to the Hove branch) and we the only ones in there. Service was perfectly good and friendly. Food wasn't great though. We ordered some tiropitakia feta parcels which did taste nice but the pastry was chewy rather than flaky (as you would expect filo to be). We then had two of the pitta wraps. Everything was fine apart from the chips. They tasted stale and like they had been reheated. They claimed otherwise and blamed a badge batch of potatoes. Make of that what you will. Still, the food was very reasonably priced and they have lots of good reviews so maybe it was just a bad night. I wouldn't bother going back to find out though... I'll go to the other Greek restaurant in the area.

Super nice staff, amazing cuisine- it was so lovely to be able to taste the authenticity within the dishes. The staff were very lovely and made sure to help you and offer their own recommendations if you were unsure what to get. I will return again!

My boyfriend and I ordered a few dishes from Yefsis and the food definitely exceeded our expectations! However, we did ask for two lemon drinks and received orange... we still really liked the drink though. We look forward to eating in next time. Thanks so much!

I ordered a pitta and selected no sauce they took it upon themselves to add it anyway. I phoned to get a replacement and was told to keep the first one. Then got a call to say they wanted it back even tho my partner had started eating it. Bloody ridiculous. I will not be ordering again.

Incredible Greek food. I had the Pork Yeeros which was so comforting and delicious. I can eat a lot and it was a huge portion with tender pork and a delicious garlicky sauce.

We had great greek food. A simple pita with chicken souvlaki ... great taste! We ordered some sides that were good as well. We’ll be back for some bigger dishes!

Came back as love this place. Had the filo pastry with feta to start with, then the chicken souvlakia for main. All very tasty and great service

Some friends of ours were already eating when I asked them to order something for me . They placed the order at 20:00 and they did inform them that it will late around 20 minutes (fair enough). When I arrived at 20:15 and went to ask what's happening they replied back to me in the most rude way letting me know that wont be ready for another 20 minutes . Quality wise they are good but customer service which is so important I'm sorry to say but you dont have it ( at least in my occasion).

a warm welcome by the staff, quickly found a table for our group, the menus selection of starters was excellent with a wide choice the main course did not have any of the greek stews but did have all the standard meat skewers - the portions were large and of the group only one finished the whole thing - one small drawback for me was that the Politiki salad had chilli in it not mentioned on the menu ( i do not like chilli )

This is the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been in,the tables were sticky the floor was dirty and the toilets were disgusting I wouldn’t let my dog in in here..

Recently I have quite taken to Greek cuisine and have visited a few around Brighton and Hove. One of my favourites is very close to Yefsis of Greece.

Went in for lunch on a weekday, ordered a Hunger Platter to share for two, it was a huge portion, authentic and delicious. Different variety of meats, very fresh salad. Would recommend.

A friend booked the restaurant for last Thursday evening at 7pm. It was out first time there and when we arrived there were only 4 other people at their tables, so a total of 7 people. The service was most friendly and the atmosphere very relaxed and engaging.

We normally order any kebab fare from the lovely German Delights, but didn't realise they weren't open on a Sunday so decided to choose somewhere different instead through Deliveroo. The delivery was super quick, which is great- but the food was already cold.

This was my first visit, I had a souvlaki wrap which was delicious and filling. The staff were all happy despite being busy and the wait for food was worth it as you can see it being prepared in the open kitchen. Very good value too.

Visited Yefsis on Western Road yesterday after trying and failing to find a roast dinner past 6pm in Brighton.

I have been to yefsis quite a few times and have always been pleased, while it may not be the fanciest meal it is flavourful and filling with a variety of interesting and authentic dishes to choose from, to me it seems like the best i food to eat when slightly drunk! A definitely must go on a night out in Brighton either at the start of the night or at the end!

Yefsis of Greece is a nice place where you can try Greek cuisine. A lot of options, street food prmarily at a relatively low expense. Try the souvlaki and is so good! Service is good as well, friendly and polite staff! It' s worth a visit!

I particularly wanted to write a review of this place because my friend and I had to sit right next to a couple who complained very loudly. It was a very busy night and the young girls were working very hard. One complaint was that there was no ice. If you have white wine from the fridge or a beer, then there is no problem. This is not meant to be fine dining. This is exactly what I missed, having lived many years back in Athens and enjoyed a real souvlaki in the pitta bread that is unique to Greece, good chicken pieces, salad, chips and tzatziki. Together with a very strong glass if ouzo it was a very satisfying meal. While we were there, delivery men were constantly coming in to pick up food. Brighton definitely needed a place like this. Luckily it's just down the road from me so I'll be back. Was service slow for others? I don't know. But it's Greek. Have a good chat with friends with a bottle of something and a couple of mezedes and wait. It's worth it. I recommend.

We went to dine at Yefesis for the first time at the Hove branch. The food was lovely, however the customer service we received by the Font of House/waiter was outstanding. He cared about every aspect of service and despite being busy he ensured every customer was looked after. We will be back as regular customers!!!!

We were excited to see Yefsis had opened a second restaurant, having enjoyably visited the London Road original several times, we were pleased to find out the location shares far more than just a name. The dining room overlooks Western Road and, although having a different style than its predecessor, is welcoming and comfortable still. This was compounded by the superb greeting and attention paid by the manager Haris who, much like Yefsis London Road's team, very much makes you feel like you're back home in Greece!

I absolutely loved Yefsis, since my local Greek takeaway sadly closed I had been looking for a replacement. I thought Yefsis was a regular kebab shop so had never given it much thought, however after seeing a large number of 4-5* rated reviews on Facebook and many positive comments, I decided to give it a try. Best decision I’ve ever made!

We went this afternoon having been meaning to visit since it opened. Love Greek food and have been to Greece many, many times. Just opted for a couple of wraps and some wine. Service and food both excellent and very reasonably priced. Will be back very soon for some mezedes, one of their sharing platters and some salad. Oh, and I really liked the patates too. Loved it and it’s 2 minutes away. My partner is currently on a Zimmer and they couldn’t have been more helpful

We decided to grab some take away food from here after a day out in town as needed some tapas and light food. We ordered selection of Mezedes (tapas) including feta, saganaki and grilled mushrooms . We also ordered some chicken skewers. The food was lovely and tasty and also good value . They were pretty quick with getting our order. The staff were friendly, looks a little cramped inside but I guess that adds to atmosphere, will eat in next time

Went for lunch following a recommendation. Service was good, right mix between not hassling is straight away to not having to wait too long.

We went here the other lunchtime and had one of the platters between the two of us. It was quite a thing of beauty and was a lot of food. If there was any issue it was too much pitta bread but the salad the meat and the chips were all amazing.

Visited the new Hove branch with my husband during my lunch break and was pleasantly surprised. It was our first time. Service was friendly and quick. Portion sizes are generous. Prices reasonable . Loved the fresh pitta bread and the aubergine dip the best. Have recommended to my colleagues at work. Will definitely visit again.

Having been planning to go to Yefsis for some time (since it opened!!) we were left very disappointed by the experience...or lack of!

I came in for Lunch and ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Pita Wrap to go on the premises that such a simple meal was likely to be done well. Therefore, I was extremely disappointed to find it to be the most unsatisfying and unappetising lunch I have had in a long time.

Very disappointed at the new Western Road Yafsis as London road is soooooo good.

Just had a home delivery from here. Absolutely delicious! Had the chicken souvlaki & will definitely get from here again. Thanks guys.

Went after work to Greek restaurant ‘Yefsis’ as it’s only around the corner, to have a veggie souvlaki and a beer ... with only 4 occupied tables it took them 20 mins to come and take my order and another 20 minutes to throw part of my order on the table and disappear again to serve a new customer .. when I asked the waitress where is my beer ... after having waited for nearly 40 mins ... she didn’t even make an effort to reply ... So I got up and left the place ... Never again my money there!!!!

Pay little attention to the miserable souls being precious who feel the need to nitpick about the tiniest things, Stavro you are doing us Greeks (and Brightonians) a real service for bringing us the very distinct taste of home to Brighton, something no one had before on the same level, let alone same level of quality. We waited half an hour for two starters: the filo pastry was overcooked and hard and the courgette fritters were soggy. The chicken pita wrap was mainly chips with a small amount of chicken and just a whiff of tomato and onion. The waitresses were not interested in helping us - just going through the motions. My Greek friends would be embarrassed to see such dismal food promoted as typical of their country.

From the moment you walk into the restaurant you get hit with delicious smells of chargrilled food.

Great service, and we had an amazing meal. The courgette starter with tzatziki was one of the best starters I have ever had. Pork was spot on but this place is great for veggies too, the Iman Aubergine dish was delicious. Will come again for sure!

I had the Pork Yeeros, it was a complete delight. Not sure about the authenticity but it all in all, it was a pretty good experience. I would not recommend eating it cold though.

We came here for dinner after a recommendation from a friend and really enjoyed it. We ordered the courgette balls which were light and delicious, served with tzatziki to share for starter. The annoying thing was they came with our main, despite us ordering for starter. For main we had the gyros; vegetarian and the chicken souvlaki. They were large portions stuffed with homemade chips and a bargainous £5.50! Service is friendly and quick. Well worth a visit for the price.

Stav and his team serve up simple yet delicious food every day. I love this place. I've been here on dates with my wife, a night out with the boys and with friends and family visiting Brighton.

Highly recommend a visit to this place, the meat was delicious and so were the Greek desserts. The attitude of the owner was admirable, even though it was quite busy for a Sunday night. I will definitely come back!

Booked Saturday night early evening for a meal for three.

Really enjoyed the food here, I was in Greece last summer and this tasted just as good as anything I had over there. Lots of choice for vegetarians - the veggie souvlaki was really tasty and generously portioned and there’s quite a few side dishes or starters to choose from as well. Service was good too, although I would say the drinks are a little overpriced, especially the very small bottled beers!

Impromptu visit for Sunday lunch. Portions were generous and staff friendly. We asked if there was any cake for dessert and told not. Couldn’t believe that there wasn’t any baklava so asked another waitress if there was any desserts and was told yes - baklava. 2 portions ordered and devoured.

Have been meaning to visit since it opened as am a big fan of Greece and Greek food. I really wasn’t disappointed. The food was great and a good choice offered on the menu - although some of the most traditional dishes you might expect were missing. However that isn’t anything to complain about as the dishes offered all sounded delicious. The service was friendly and we will definitely be back for more.

I have been here twice within a week as the food is good, service is fine and on the overall good value. However when I got home, I realised on the receipt, we were charged an additinal 20% 'tax' over and above advertised prices on the menu. I would have questioned it had I noticed it while still in the restaurant.

Visited yefsis on the recommendation of friends, ordered a couple of pittas and some feta chips to take out, waited upwards of half an hour for our food. The guys initially gave our order to someone else and had to shout after him to retrieve our food. We eventually received our order amid the confusion and returned home to unwrap the dinner that we hoped would have been worth the wait(and the £15 price tag). We found that the wraps looked average at best- no more appetising than the fare from the local kebab shop- and that they had forgotten our chips. Returned swiftly to get a refund. Getting Deliveroo instead .

Es war wirklicv sehr lecker. Ich hatte ein wrap mit souvlaki Spieß. Vor allem das Tzatziki war mega gut im Geschmack. Mit den Pommes noch drauf voll mein Geschmack. Eine Sache hat mir nur etwas gefehlt unzwar mehr Salat. Es waren zwei oder drei Scheiben Tomaten darauf. Ich hätte mehr Grünzeug mega gefeiert. War aber trotzdem sehr lecker. Pommes mit Schafskäse ebenfalls sehr lecker. Mein mann hatte einen Fleischteller mit Pommes und Tzatziki. Hat ihm auch sehr gemundet. Waren später sauer suf uns das wir nicht die Fleischplatte für zwei genommen haben. Die sah noch besser aus :-). Laden war sehr gut besucht. Haben deshalb etwas warten müssen. Kellnerin aucv sehr nett ist extra für unsere Kids nochmal Eiswürfel kaufen gegangen, als sie sah das ich meine für sie rausgefischt habe.

Restaurante griego muy agradable.Las camareras fueron muy simpáticas con nosotros y con los niños pequeños. No tienen una carta muy extensa ni variedad en vinos pero lo suficiente para comer bien en familia. Recomiendo los Pitas que están buenísimos. Los precios son económicos.

In fact, I have spent a lot of time in Greece and had some good food there.

So I was told about this place through a friend who kept banging on at me that we need to go as she thought the food was incredible. After a week or so I decide we go for lunch... WOW the food is delicious!! So much flavour and the perfect amount of seasoning. When we went I had the pork soulvaki wrap that comes with chip in the wrap. You also order what sauce you’d like and I ordered tzatziki. So tasty!

Our daughters treated my husband for his birthday here on Friday evening and we loved it. The sharing platters are huge with delicious fresh salads and dips as part of the deal. The service was so friendly and welcoming that we felt like we were in Greece!

We dropped in for some street food after the football on Friday early evening. Great decision. Lovely freshly made souvlaki (pork + vegetarian). Service was very friendly and quick.

So just got back off holiday and fancied something exotic, and man I was happy to find these guys. So the sausage, best one I’ve ever had, like the thing was chro. So I thought surely the wrap couldn’t get better than the bad boy sausage, bang, chicken was moist like a nun around the pope, chips were cooked to literal perfection. The pitta was fully dank.

I was on a mission to feed 25 hungry people in a work meeting with pizza but when I turned up, the pizza restaurant was closed for refurbishment!

Yefsis is a small restaurant however what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality. The vine leaves are the best I have had outside of Greece as is the souvlaki. I intend to work my way through the menu. They also offer a home delivery service which I have also taken advantage of and this too was delicious and good value for money.
