Coffeetzar in Brighton and Hove

This is truly one of the best cafes in Brighton! And the biscotti cake is incredible .... Always such a lovely friendly vibe too.

If you are an early bird/cannot sleep/have jet lag you can get an early coffee here at Coffeetzar. It’s a real nice coffee shop and real friendly locals.

A quick stay in Brighton meant a google search for somewhere to get breakfast. Lucky for us we came across CoffeetZar. What a wonderful friendly welcome, lovely bright fresh decor ,exceptional coffee & loads of delicious looking food choices. I had the Greek yoghurt with granola ,sour cherries & honey. And oh my!. My husband had a more traditional choice. Both delicious and good value. Couldn’t resist a couple of homemade treats for the long drive home either.

Needed somewhere to sit for 30-45mins or so and came here. The two girls on the till (did not get their names) were super lovely and had a chat with me about my knitting that I had come in with. Great service, potentially the best Mocha I've ever had and loved the free WiFi. Really nice cafe and while I didn't eat here, the food looked great. Thank you to the two girls working on the front counter who were really sweet, ill be back soon I'm sure 💕

I was so surprised to find this little gem in Kemptown. Super clean, smart and a very pleasant team. Coffee was served quickly and was reasonably priced. A lovely seating area inside and a small external outside patio at the front of the cafe. Tight for space but still very nice and an absolute sun trap.

Nice and cozy lil cafe. Theyve made the best of a quite cramped space. Prices are lower than Id expect and coffee is good. Tastes fresh and not burned even slightly so their machines are well looked after too, theyre serious on coffee :D Had a sausage roll while I was here, their food offerings all looked incredible but being northern had to have a sausage roll. Its almost proportionally inverse to a Greggs. Its about an inch thick of well spiced banger with a lil light coat of pastry. Absolutely filled a hole though.

Came here after a photoshoot, the girl on till was really lovely, I couldn’t decide on a Snack and she recommended the red velvet cake! I had a chai latte, and the red velvet cake really was as good as it looked :) There is wifi here and nice tables with space to decompress Joe

There are amazing mouth-watering sweet and savoury items galore at this attractive Kemptown coffee shop. The service is friendly and helpful. There is a pleasant outside seating area with white tables and parasols, in this quiet street just down from Brighton College. I will definitely be back for the cakes and spinach bakes!

I used to really enjoy this place - it was my daily coffee location in the mornings. Then the owner started asking me about my 'girlfriend' - I am a gay man and we are in an LGBT village. What on earth is this? I don't want to be accused of being straight when I'm just out for a coffee! What a horrible experience. Avoid.

We arrived at half past one, and a lot of the lunch items had sold out. Apart from that, it's a really great vibe, food and service.

I had a great visit here. The coffee was good and the cinnamon bun was lush.

I live in the local area and this is a go to for me. Lovely welcome every time I come through the door which is always a great start. Lovely coffee and delicious light bites and cakes on offer all the time. The fantastic small red building next door is also owned by them and they do a mixture of ice creams, treats and hot dogs. It too be missed!!

Cafe with seated people. Turn up at 4.30 and although they close at 5 I am not allowed to buy a coffee and sit for 10 mins on a cold night awaiting a meeting elsewhere. .

Can believe that they charge £2.50 for ONE minute chocolate almond sweet .

Its a lovely cafe and the staff are friendly, but I couldn't help but feel disappointed with the food, especially for the price. My toasted sandwich was dry as a bone and the cake I ordered was the thinnest slice you've ever seen for £4.95! Coffee was excellent.

Lovely cakes and brunches served here! I like their coffee here but the cake was too sweet for me. Ongoing construction of the flats when i visit there but cafe looks pretty in white.

Great cake and snacks! Beware though now surrounded by scaffolding. But still very modern and nice

It may be a bottleneck of an entrance, but there is a fair amount of space inside - which was necessary to use today because of the rain. And the scaffolding being in the way of erecting the parasols. And relax... the food makes you forget all little problems, the herbal flavours and great combinations. Could stay there for afternoon tea as well if I hadn't eaten that delicious crepe already!

Such a gorgeous and relaxing little place! Good coffee, lovely baristas, but it’s the gluten free peanut butter cookie sandwich that changed my life forever. Try it.

Great coffee and delicious cakes and sweets in a very friendly atmosphere. The food is also very nice. Definitely recommend it.

I came through the door of this cafe intending to order a hot drink and to use the WiFi. Unfortunately the lady behind the counter, after showing me the WiFi password written on a board, which was all well and good, and I was just about to order, when she made a remark about my appearance in front of other people, which was upsetting. Added to which, she wouldn’t drop the subject and another customer gallantly engaged her in conversation, getting her off my back. There weren’t many people in there this afternoon and maybe that’s why. On the upside , this place does have delicious looking cakes and bright decor, but my experience today didn’t make me wish to go back for more. The North Laine in Brighton is a vibrant and interesting area, but on this occasion I went elsewhere.

Quite a small cafe with friendly staff, good coffee and a wide range of savory foods and cakes.

Not very dog friendly for starters , disgusting coffee and overpriced and pretentious food. Furniture and plan pots placed too far out on the pavement making it impossible for prams, wheelchairs etc to pass by so constantly having to move your chair to let them pass. I'm suprised that the council haven't pulled the owner up about this.

Small cafe but kind, friendly staff. I ordered a stuffed crossiant (with spinach and cheese) and a decaf cappuccino both were really nice. WiFi also available. Recommend.

Popped into this place as was passing and ordered a salami and parmesan sandwich at £5.75. Was served quickly but given a salami and basil pannini and charged £6. Sandwiches are small and, in my opinion, overpriced for what they contain, and you can do better on the main drag through Kemptown.

Came in wit my mum for brunch, i had a feta cheese wrap that was delicious , lovely coffee and great service, and good value

Delicious peanut butter cookie and a cortado really hit the spot on this cold grey Sunday morning. Cafe is very relaxing and staff were friendly and helpful. Coffee could have been a little hotter for my liking but can’t fault the flavour or silky milk that was layered in.

Hidden Gem! Staff are ever so friendly & well mannered. Frappe was delish and the raspberry & macadamia brownie is to die for - I'll have it hot next time.

Food is pre-made in the morning, the place doesn't have a full kitchen but the advantages of this is you don't have to wait to eat it :-) You order, you seat and you get your food right away

Lack of filling. Over priced. Was tasty but for a goat cheese and salami panini 1/3rd was filling free. Also wanted a long time cake came before panini cake was very nice but expensive

Walking around Brighton early in the morning lead me to discovering the best coffee in Brighton and super friendly hosts/staff. Really enjoyed my time there. Felt so comfortable writing away on my laptop. Very nice vibe unlike really commercial soulless places like Starbucks ;)

By far the nicest coffee in Brighton that I've tasted from about 20 different cafes. Great service and open early on Saturday morning while all other cafes were closed. Delicious Americano! Real coffee. Friendly and happy vibes here ;))

Enjoyed my first visit despite a few hiccups...definitely to be expected on a bank holiday weekend. The team were doing their absolute best to manage the crowds. Really felt for them but they persevered with a smile. I had Greek Spinach Pie and my Husband had a tart. Looking forward to visiting again soon - I live down the street so will make a point of returning on a week day. Thanks again!

Revisited the place... Chai tea was very Milky. I returned there because the very first time I visited, the owner was there and was super friendly and staff seemed happier in themselves. Staff was not very happy to see us on this occasion (different faces) it seemed, and looked like they were closing up; when pointed out that google said it was Open until 5pm, one of them said their boss allowed them to close earlier. I feel they were doing everything in Their power to get us out of there: pulling up chairs on tables, and making a hell of a noise..

Quite frankly the most delicious coffee i’ve ever had. I came in on a sunny afternoon with a friend to do some work and ended up having a yummy winter tart that was to die for. you’ll be seeing us again!

We dropped in here on Friday pm at around 4 pm and frankly it was like a tuck shop for nearby Brighton College! Packed with the entitled youth! As a result, the service was really stretched - our 2nd drink arrived after we had finished the 1st - and frankly paying over a tenner for 2 drinks and the last piece of a cake (so a bit stale) wasn’t great value-for-money. You just hope the experience is much better earlier in the day. Oh and the cafe’s Russian association isn’t very trendy just now! (Joking!)

This has become the best coffee house in KT. The owner is super friendly and this trickles down. The food is also lovely.

Super yummy cakes and friendly service. They also have a good selection of other sweet and savoury foods, as well as freshly made smoothies.

Clean, conveniently located, wide range, fresh. We wanted a quick bite but ended up waiting for 35 minutes. Slice of toasted sourdough with tomatoes and two streaks of bacon. Food 5* Service 2* (kitchen ) Value 3* Front of the house was good

Very disappointed had a cake and coffee, the cake was tasteless was supposed to be raspberry and pistachio, no raspberry taste at all, the top of the cake had a rather weird taste, coffee was ok, my son had a greasy croissant, so all in all disappointing. Would not go again, and 4.95 for a slice of cake. Crazy

Gorgeous little café with a nice seaside view. Excellent location, away from the busy center. Big menu with plenty options and the portions are big! We loved it, the food tasted great and very friendly staff. Great place for brunch!

Friendly helpful staff, our go to for coffee in Kemptown, which says a lot as we're awash with great coffee. Word of warning, the banoffee brownies should be banned due to being highly delicious and thoroughly addictive. Looking forward to being able to sit in again soon for their amazing brunch/lunch menu.

Always a warm welcome, very good coffee indeed, they even had honey as an option on the side. A tasty sandwich which was toasted was an added bonus. A great place if you have time to kill.

Located in College Road, Kemptown, Brighton is the heaven of a cozy cafe - Coffeetzar. The natural ambience of this place is very therapeutic and homelike, you can notice the genuine care put in by the owner. The interior is very welcoming with bright colours toned down with neutral colours, aesthetic to say the least. The option for one to sit outside and enjoy the weather is a great feature. Very friendly staff and great service. The huge array of different cakes makes you want to try them all - believe me! The sandwich options also appealing. The love put into each sandwich and dessert can be sensed. Fairly priced as well. Check them out!

Amazing coffee and great setup. Highly recommend! Got a mocha with oatmilk and a tea with almond milk and sometimes cafe’s can really mess these drinks up with the milk alternatives, however the barista did a brilliant job. Tasted amazing.

The best coffee place in the area. Tasty coffee and a great selection of food, perfect to sit and work quietly on your laptop or just grab something to eat and drink on the go. Excellent Coffee, great food and a stylish interior. The owner and staff are the most welcoming and friendly people. An added bonus is all the measures they have taken for safety due to Covid. An all around amazing cafe!

Really nice coffee, the fresh orange juice is also great. On the pricier side so not an everyday coffee shop in my opinion, but nice if you're just passing through the area.

Bright, clean and airy. Simply decorated, but tasteful. In present times I would prefer if cakes etc., were covered, but on the whole, good selection of savoury and sweet treats. Staff friendly and helpful. Worth a visit.

The yummiest shakshuka in Brighton! I had a peanut butter brownie and my life has never been the same again, it was decadent and perfectly balanced between crispy, soft and chewy. I could spend hours here working on my laptop while drinking coffee and eating the incredible food that comes out of that kitchen. Bring coffeetzar to London?!
