Came in from a quick dinner with five friends. I asked for a tortilla. The WAITERS response was i'm sorry we had two servings left and your table has ordered it. I asked why could they make me a fresh one which he replied we make it in batches of four and we close till Tuesday and i doubt we will sell any more i ate there months before and no issues. This guy need to learn some customer service skills i ended up walking out leaving my friends behind as he berated me. Just because i didn't tell him it was fine. IT WANTED FONE ITS THE ONLY THING I WANTED

I was really surprised that this place wasn't full! We rocked up for an early dinner and were practically the only people in the place - which was a surprise as the food was really excellent. Lovely staff who were really helpful. We had a couple of tasty tapas dishes for a shared starter, then I had paella, which was perfectly cooked. Would definitely re-visit when next in Brighton. I'd like to score five, but the seats were really uncomfortable.

We had a perfect dinner there as a family. Food was very tasty and service was very friendly. Would definitely recommend, so why is it so empty when two other restaurants refused us as they were full? (we thought it is a new restaurants or people go to tapas much later but both reasons were proven false...)

Had a quiet meal and bottle of wine with a friend here and it as surprised it was practically empty. Had the best Tapas I have ever tasted. The host was charming and informative. I would particularly recommend the Chorizo and the goats cheese in honey.

The choice was from 6 starter and 4 main courses and includes a glass of wine or a beer. We chose a generous portion of lentil and pork stew (starter) risotto and seafood paella for our main. The kitchen closes at 2.30.

As we walked in, there was bread and dips on the bar right in front of us. I naively thought those were some sort of welcome treats and I helped myself to a half slice of chewy bread, only to be told off by a waitress (I find her name is Maria) who looked at me as if I had just brought communism into the country. Then her colleague came, they spoke in Spanish to each other and I was told off again by him as well. All that DESPITE having apologised for the inconvenience and having offered to pay for the whole dish. Being made to feel very embarrassed and awkward, we went to a table where we asked for the remaining bread from which I had half of slice to be toasted, that seemed to be a massive issue. Yes, it was an issue to toast some bread. Having made a point about the service and the friendliness and general atmosphere of the place ( no music or atmosphere whatsoever), now the food was dreadful. Not being byast, but it was literally Tesco ready meals quality at triple prices. The Seafood paella was made with frozen seafood. Shame on you!!! It’s a Spanish restaurant by the seaside. Definitely never coming back. Rude!!

Booked for a Friday night, restaurant was busy but the service was very good. Wait for ordering, drinks and food never felt like it was too long. The food was very good and I'd recommend a visit here if you are ever in Brighton.

It is always worth looking out for lunchtime deals at restaurants and La Vendimia certainly fits the bill with our two course meal being substantial, freshly prepared and of exceptional quality. Service was interested, friendly and helpful. Well worth seeking out if you are looking for an inexpensive lunchtime option in pleasant surroundings.

This is a good place to duck in for a sherry and a couple of tapas - including lovely cod based dishes, spanish charcuterie. Friendly and good value.

Lovely spot in Brighton if you are looking for Spanish food. We had the paella, chorizo, calamaris & garlic prawns with bread. Garlic prawns were very delicious; dipping in with the bread. Rest of food was good too. If you order the tapas; no need to order more then 3 dishes as you get lots!

Very caring and polite service with excellent food. Definitely recommend it. We shared about 5 plates of tapas and all cooked exceptionally well. Tasty and hot!

The service was friendly but the dishes, although tasty, were not very hot (possible microwaved) and two of them were bulked out with mash potato. However, the wine was very good.

I am a regular visitor to Brighton to see a friend and we are always looking for new places to eat and as a big fan of Spanish/Tapas La Vendimia was a natural choice for us. It was a mid week visit and the place was quite quiet and at first we thought the service was rather slow. What we did not realise is that many of the dishes are cooked to order which of course takes longer. The Tapas was delicious but I wonder how long the wait would be if it is full, which I am sure it is at times. The 2 staff working seemed run off there feet but were always kind and friendly. I would recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Brighton and will definately visit again.

Wir folgten der Empfehlung der Kellnerin und nahmen Sangria und tapas um 25 Pfund-ausgezeichnet und für den kleinen Hunger mehr als ausreichend! Service ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam, Ambiente sehr gemütlich und ansprechend - werden dieses Lokal sicher weiter empfehlen!

Went here for the 2nd time on the 17th March for my birthday. Staff were slightly over run but nice meal anyway

As parents we have precious few opportunities to go out for a nice meal together so when we walked past La Vendimia we thought we would get a sitter in and go for some tapas as soon as we got the chance.

We ordered the meatballs in tomato sauce, chicken kebabs, sautéed mushrooms and churros for desert.

Waren für ein gemütliches Essen dort. Das Essen und die Sangria waren ausgesprochen gut! Der Kellner war sehr freundlich und aufgestellt, bereits bei der Ankunft! Ist sicher einen Besuch wert! Werden das nächste mal wieder gehen.

Return visit having been here the previous year, surprisingly quite given it was the week before Christmas! Food all very good and staff friendly and helpful taking care with timing of food given some was being cooked to order. Only minor downside was the girls got a little cold as the evening progressed.

We're not great tapas lovers and didn't realise this was a tapas restaurant until we sat and looked at the menu. We spent last New Years Eve in here and had set meals which were not tapas. Anyway we made our choice of 6 dishes and a bottle of white Rioja and thoroughly enjoyed it all. The service was good and overall not bad value at £53.

We popped in here on Saturday the 11th Nov around 3PM for a mid afternoon snack.

We have eaten at this restaurant before and again received excellent service. The waiters knowledge of the food and particularly the wine served was good and made you feel that he wanted to serve the best. Will visit again when in Brighton

Early evening was almost empty. The seafood paella and the mixed paellas were both very good. Waitress offered a white rioja that was not on the list, which was very good. A little disappointed that the wine list only included Riojas (albeit a choice between Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva) and none from other regions. Service was quick and very friendly.

A lovely surprise. The food was all so yummy and it’s difficult to pick out a favourite. We will definitely be back!

I’ve been there in the evening, without booking. I think it’s a lovely place and It’s seems to be in Spain if you eat Paella there because it’s very good.

Dined with three friends. 2 had paella which was dry and lacked flavour.flavour. Tapas a mixed experience, prawns and chicken dishes good, aubergines in honey truly awful - soggy and completely tasteless, calamari and patatas bravas had obviously been lying around for a while. Tried to order a second bottle of wine to be told that they had run out. Waitresses took forever to clear table and were not friendly. Waiter was helpful and pleasant and did take our comments on board. He removed cost of some items from bill. Final straw was waitresses talking about us as we left - unnecessary (they should bear in mind that some of their customers do speak Spanish) and very unprofessional. Needless to say will not go back and would not recommend to anyone. There are many better restaurants in Brighton.

Very nice vibe to the place, food very good but the services was appalling. The staff are very slow, we had to get their attention and after a wait of 25 mins, finally managed to order our drinks. The food was very good as was the wine. After we had finished our meal, we waited again for a member of staff to see if we required anything else but, we got fed up with waiting, so decided to leave and paid our bill at the till on our way out!

We ordered food for takeaway and firstly when I tried to order the girl who picked up the phone didn’t understand English and she asked me if I could call later, after that my girlfriend (who is from Spain) she called and ordered everything and when the food arrived it wasn’t complete, the tortilla wasn’t there and don’t even in the receipt. Bad service

We've been here for the paella . The bread was ok and the started as week . Very good wine but the seafood paella wasn't very good . The fish was without taste and poor portion

Went here on a Friday night and was told that the House Red Wine had "run out" (very strange!)

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at La Vendimia the tapas accompanied by a glass of sherry was a lovely alternative the usual restaurant fare. I must also give a mention to the desert of churros and hot chocolate, delicious.

Visited on a Saturday night, food was ok although tough pork special. What this restaurant lacks is atmosphere it was soulless and the service was very poor. Go to the curry leaf you'll have a much better all round experience

I've had some first class tapas both in Spain and in the UK and this is right up there with the best. This was my wife's first tapas experience and she loved it all. The fried aubergine in honey is superb! Staff were friendly and informative and offered advice and recommendations. All dishes were freshly made and very tasty.

A very relaxed and chilled Tapas. Great for groups and couples. Could easily of gone up a couple of inches in the waist area. The food was lovely. You won't regret visiting..

Ho cenato in questo ristorante in quanto il locale si presentava molto bene ed era vicino al B&B; dove alloggiavo. Ho scelto una tortilla di patate e la paella di solo pesce il tutto accompagnato da un ottimo bicchieri di sangria. Locale arredato e curato molto bene, personale gentile e cortese. Never ventured over this side of Brighton alway stay near the lanes. Loads of eating places this side. This Spanish restaurant had friendly spanish staff and they let us bring two dogs in aswell (Brightling not that dog friendly!!) Had the sea food paella which came in the dish it was cooked in. It W's absolutely delicious. :)

Mi opinión la doy sobre Arrobas y Cía, que deben ser del mismo grupo, ya que están pared com pared. La tortilla: infame y con perejil ( para olvidar); el jamón ibérico (debía de ser de sobre) pues le faltaba el corte y ni tenían pintas ni motas......

Went there with my daughter before she leaves Brighton for the last time. She had been there before. The starters were lovely, especially her goats cheese, and the paellas were very good. Following by really good sangria! Will definitely go there if ever I am in Brighton again.

Aangename atmosfeer in dit relatief nieuwe restaurant. Ruime kaart met uitsluitend Spaanse gerechten. Kwaliteit viel echter tegen, zo was de paëllia aangebrand en kregen we een selectie vlees ipv kaas als dessert. Belangrijkste aandachtspunt is de bediening: welwillend en best vriendelijk maar bijzonder onkundig. Ook de Engelse taal wordt nauwelijks beheerst. Beter management en enige training van de bediening (efficientie en etiquetten) zijn voorwaarden voor langere termijn succes.

We had a very nice meal with very good food at this restaurant located close to our hotel. Fried eggpant sticks in honey - surprisingly tasty! Traditional soup with sausgae - yummy! Beautiful pork and lovely paella! Better than other Brighton establishments with higher recommendations.

We were a large group of 19 so we had pre-ordered. The food was nice and the staff were attentive. The calamari was tender, the patatas bravas was really tasty. The vegetation paella was very nice and more than enough to feed 5 ppl (it was 5 ppl per paella). I'd like to go back and try other items.

I invited five friends over, although they all have very different tastes when it comes to eating out so I was quite worried. I decided to try La Vendimia as it had such a good variety of dishes. Everyone was really pleased with their food. Three of us had six tapas dishes between us, two had paella and one had a fish dish.

We had decided on a restaurant for our evening meal, but, we'd had a bigger than planned meal while visiting the Pavilion. On our way to the restaurant we saw this tapas bar. On impulse we all agreed this was a better place to eat.

Poor girl this evening. How can 1 person serve 30 people, including making drinks, bills, cleaning up etc. I really think that you should take less reservations when there is only one person to serve. Food was very good.

We enjoyed our food and wine and the service was good - there was a mistake on the bill when they charged for abottle instead of a glass of wine but it was soon rectified and they knocked off the price of the sherry. Pleasant people. Quite authentic

During our Holiday we spent one dinner at the Vendimia and we recommend to do so. Service is friendly, Food is very good, tasty and the atmosphere is nice.

My husband and I came here for lunch on Saturday after my husband had spotted it previously. So pleased we did. Had the best patatas bravas ever. Aubergine and honey was a delight as were the garlic prawns and croquettes. Wouldn't have calamaris again but thats personal preference. Just wish they did my favourite dish of callos.

We happened to visit this superb" hidden gem " by accident on our first visit to Brighton .

We really liked the style of the restaurant, the atmosphere and it was packed so usually a good sign, the food quality was great, favours were very authentic and good portion size. Not overpriced so we were happy.

From the outside this place looks very nice. However, we waited more than one hour to get our first starter (3 small tapas). The tapas was ok! The main courses was disappointing and three out of four dishes was cold. When the bill came it was wrong!

After a couple of drinks we randomly popped into La Vendimia. It was a lucky drop in as we remained pleased. We had a variety of tapas and a jug of water. Think we had a total of 9 different dishes.

Ate here during marathon weekend, the food was good and the restaurant cosy and warm, Unfortunately with just one waitress there was a delay in taking drink and food orders. This wasn't too much of a problem as we weren't in a hurry.

We popped in for dinner, walked in off the street, they found us a table and couldn't be more helpful. Service was great and the tapas was the best I have had in the UK. Calamares, prawns and the croquetas were all outstanding. Worth a visit.

We found this lovely-looking little place in Kemptown and made a reservation for dinner. While the food was very nice and the bubbly was spectacular, the two waitresses were swept off their feet with the volume of tables on a Saturday night. We struggled to get waited on the entire time; we were even also offered another table's drinks due to a mixup. The paella was lovely, and the waitresses were very nice and apologetic, but they La Vendimia needs more staff at peak levels, and it put a real damper on the experience.

Good food but I was surprised that sides (like patatas bravas) were extra but that was a minor issue. Considering the time of evening, the restaurant was rather quiet but I liked this! I'd definitely revisit.

Visited here on a week evening, for a hot drink, with the chance to eat some tapas as well. The two people - waiters and waitress were miserable as they wanted to close early and were not happy serving us. It was clear that they wanted to go home and lock up. There half an hour to go before they closed. Most unwelcoming. Will never go back or recommend.

We arrived late on Saturdaybut thankfully could still get a table for dinner.We had the ham croquetes, calamari, patatas bravas and alioli, I'd recommend all of those. The chorizo tapa and mushroom tapas were fine, wouldn't order again though.

I am shocked by the reviews of this place. The food was truly terrible. The food was obviously reheated and barely warm.. the paella was literally inedible and we decided to leave- we will not ever return. Avoid.

I went here with my wife and a friend for an early dinner. I cannot agree with any of the previous comments as our dinner was faultless. Service was good and the food was tasty and piping hot. We had a mixed plate to cold meats to share to start, 6 tapas to share as a main course, and a mixed plate of cheese to share to finish. With 2 bottles of wine the bill came to £100. There is an extensive Spanish wine and drinks selection about which the staff are very knowledgeable. We will be going again.

partner and two friends visited this place on the first night of our weekend in brighton. It was close to our hotel, so we gave it a try. My partner and I ordered bread with garlic mayonnaise and olive oil as a starter. Bread was cold and tasteless and it came with two tint pots of mayo and oil. Our friends had ordered olives and dry cured ham and tomato on bread. They forgot to bring it and had to be reminded twice. Not busy in the restaurant, so don't understand this. My main course was pork loin with a goats cheese sauce. It was ok but small serving with a few chunky potato wedges. No veg or salad at all.

Ten of us went for my birthday. We were given a great table a little to the side of the main dining area which was perfect for the group.

I'll start this review by giving the benefit of the doubt to La Vendimia and saying we may have hit it on a bad night.

This place has a great atmosphere and the staff are Spanish. Some food was good but one of our paellas was really salty - awful. Other food was good although expensive. Staff sorted out complaints very well without question!

Incredibile l'attesa di più di un'ora per avere una porzione di patatas bravas, che in un ristorante spagnolo sono il piatto più comune tra le tapas con cui si inizia... Le patate poi sono bollite e la salsa di pomodoro, insipida, e' la stessa che viene servita sul baccalà . Le crocchette di prosciutto in realtà sono di patate, e di prosciutto nemmeno hanno il sapore. Per spendere in due circa 30 sterline, e metterci un tempo infinito, non è certo un'esperienza da raccomandare!

What a surprise . Just around the corner from where we were staying in Brighton , we discovered this treasure .

Waren im La Vendomia und eigentlich von der Qualität und vom Service her zufrieden. Lediglich sollte man keinen Zusammenhang zwischen dem Preis und der Grösse machen. Es gibt Hauptgerichte für 10 Pfund aber eben such Tapas (ohne Fisch/Fleisch) für 10 Pfund.

We were lucky enough to sneak in early evening. Very nice food indeed, and lovely sized portions, well presented and very tasty.

We had bread with olive oil and garlic mayo, and the olive oil was so strong, not good. Then I had seafood paella which I had to wait 45 minutes for ( I was told 30 minutes) , it was stuck to the pan and burnt,( they said it was roasted!!!!!) my husband had rice chicken and mushrooms, burnt also he couldn't scrape the rice off the pan, he had 4 small pieces of chicken and 4 small pieces of mushroom. On the whole not good, when we advised them it was not accepted although we were offered a free drink which we declined,( my husband doesn't drink) . We will not eat here again.

We have spent a lot of time in Spain and love Tapas. We visit Brighton a couple of times a year & were excited to try this new restaurant - the decor & menu both seemed inviting.

Easily accommodated on a Tuesday evening. Unfortunately chose a table near a small party with a bloke (why is it always a bloke?) who had one of those nauseating voices that travel 5 miles, never mind 5 foot. And they always have banal stories and comments that presumably seem interesting inside their heads, but funnily enough just serve to irritate. No matter, we were able to move right to the other end of the restaurant.

As a fan of tapas we booked for a Saturday night. Used to eating late in Spanish restaurants, we were surprised when at 10.20 they had to check if the kitchen was open for desserts. Overall the service was adequate with young staff. They needed someone more experienced to manage front of house.

I was very impressed by the food here. It was the night of Pride so I'm sure they'd been run off their feet all day but the food was delicious. The service was only so-so but I'm pretty sure this was probably due to the booming music outside, the incredibly hot room (because they couldn't open the windows due to the street party right outside) and that they all wanted to go home. I will come back again though. The portions were very big and the price was really reasonable.

I don't know if the food is authentic or not but we all enjoyed it and had a good time there. Most of the tapas dishes we had were nice, we also had a paella which had a good flavour too but it was just a little too salty. Service was good, staff were friendly and attentive. Overall it was a nice experience, wouldn't mind to go back there when we visit Brighton again.

A disappointment. The tapas dishes were below average - bland, quite small portions that were swimming in grease. The decor is nice but there are better tapas places in Brighton which are worth seeking out for a more authentic Spanish experience.

Before going to La Vendimia I checked out their tripadvisor and saw 50/50 reviews. I decided to give this place the benefit of a doubt and ignore the negative reviews, and make my own mind up. It was pretty obvious from the start that these guy had god intentions, but din't quite understand the standard of food in the surrounding area's. I was expecting great stylish tapas food, however what we received felt little more than cheap picnic food slightly warmed in the microwave. We were told our food would all come our near enough at the same time, how ever a duck dish i ordered took over half an hour longer to come out than the rest. When I complained, the waitress said that it always take loads longer, and even more this time cause apparently the chef dropped it on the floor.

Wonderful service, the best Spanish food I've had in the UK, lovely beer, understanding of dietary needs and time pressure. We will be back!

Having arrived late into Brighton last night we stumbled across La Vendimia. The friendly Spanish staff managed to squeeze us in before the kitchen closed.

All the wines are from lesser known regions, which ordinarily would be fine and interesting if good, but the selection is very third rate unknown wine for the price you pay. They place a bottle on the tables to encourage you to try, which is fine if it was any good. Even the crianzas are very poor quality.

Dropped in late in the evening having arrived into Brighton late in the evening on a Friday night. Despite this the staff were very welcoming. Had a great selection of tapas which were all very tasty and overall cost was very reasonable. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will definitely eat there again on my next visit.

Very friendly staff with a relaxing atmosphere . I was spoilt for choice with the menu but ended up choosing three tapas dishes, Duck,Pork and Caramelised Cod. All were lovely. I thoroughly recommend the cheesecake for desert. Would definitely eat here again

Per noi era la prima volta per un ristorante spagnolo ma ci siamo fatti consigliare dalla cameriera. Era tutto buonissimo e il menu consiste principalmente di Tapas (specie di stuzzichini) di vario tipo. Essendo piccoli piatti si possono provare più cose.

Called in to La Vendimia tonight, late evening for a lite late dinner with three friends. Team there were really welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and wine recommendations were spot on. It's location is perfect for the beach/prom and many of the hotels... I'd highly recommend for any visit to Brighton. Long day at the beach we rock up at 8.30 and they find room for ten of us. Waitress struggled with our accents but we muddled through the tapas menu. Spanish/Mediterranean menu. All the usual dishes there. Croquetts especially nice. Wine list comprehensive and manageable. Very kid friendly.

This was a beautiful meal. We selected vegetarian dishes to share. All were delicious and authentically Spanish. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful and the meal was great value.

I visited this poor excuse for a restaurant on 28 May 2016 with my boyfriend. We have eaten in a couple of the other Spanish restaurants in Brighton and enjoyed it but thought we would give La Vendimia a try. Firstly, there was absolutely no atmosphere. No music, nothing. We ordered some drinks and olives. These were not brought to us and my boyfriend in the end had to ask. When we had these we were asked immediately if we wanted to order. We were not ready but the waitress came over another couple of times regardless. Once we had ordered (4 dishes), they did not come at the same time. We ordered potatoes which turned up first and were cold. The other dishes came sporadically and were of poor quality. The service generally was slow, disorganised and it was almost like they had pulled someone in off the street moments before and asked them to be a waitress for the evening. The only saving grace was that the meal was cheap. We would not go here again and would certainly not recommend it to anyone. There are other authentic, proper restaurants in Brighton that we will be going to in the future. I don't believe that La Vendinia will be in business long in any case.
