Negi & Nori no decepcionó! 10 / 10

A fascinating range of shellfish and fish cooked with a Japanese influence ( chef’s from Portugal and a Kiwi ! ) with a great deal of complexity and thought having gone into the menu and presentation. The couple’s on either side of us loved the food but thought the portions were on the small side…we thought ok..just ! Unfortunately the restaurant is soon to close ( there’s another branch in Chelsea) but the chefs are class and we’re sure will be popping up in equally classy restaurants

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime to find the place really quiet, so we were seated right away. Service was great throughout our visit. I had a small portion of the chilli tiger prawn ramen. The size was perfect and the taste was great, though I note its made with chicken broth, which is a shame for a seafood-based dish. I would recommend changing this so the ramen can be enjoyed by people who don't eat meat - pescatarians do exist, after all! I'd also love to see some veggie options on the menu, not just meat-based and totally vegan. Restaurants who forget the diets in the middle risk alienating potential customer bases.

This is for the queen street branch. I used to visit this place a few years ago pre-pandemic a few times a week. Food was fresh, tasty and plentiful. Having been here twice in recent months, I am thoroughly disappointed it’s absolutely crap. Teriyaki chicken now tastes more boiled with a sauce dumped on top and the meat portions are tiny. I also had karaage on the 2nd occasion. The girl asked what rice/vege combo I wanted (?) but it wasn’t followed anyway. The portions again were meh and the sauce was some horrible clear glue looking crap with no real flavour. It was very much like an old Asian takeaway with msg from the 80’s. It’s a damned shame it’s so bad now, but people are still happy to queue here. I used to miss this place when I went to our suburban kokoru chain but even that is tastier and better value than this place.

Utilizan materiales desechables / cuencos / utensilios, etc.
